We earned a valuable 2-3 win on the road tonight against Sporting Kansas City in a packed Arrowhead Head Stadium with over 72,000 fans in the house, in what was the fourth-largest crowd in attendance for a match in MLS history. Goals from dynamic midfielder Diego Gómez, captain Lionel Messi and striker Luis Suárez led the team to the victory on the night.

All the naysayers who were saying soccer will never make it in America now have eggs on their faces. I wish the league was around in the 80s when I was the best high school soccer player in the state of Texas. I'm 58, and now it's too late for me, but I'm glad the sport has finally taken off for the kids coming up. Congrats, MLS and the US national teams. We made it.

The quality of the league is still poor. look at the amount of time and space players have on the ball without pressure. in Europe you have fractions before the press is coming and you're going to be dispossessed. also, the quality of the passes, everything is far superior. They hit their passes with much more pace and force and they require a better first touch. in MLS everything looks like it is in slow mo relative to Europe.

The level of play in the MLS has increased so much over the past years and I like watching it. However, the game is still significantly slower and tactically worse than in Europe's leagues. It's really interesting to see how some defensive positioning mistakes happen 5+ times per game while, in Europe, they happen every other game maybe. Messi couldn't score half the goals he scores in the MLS in LL, the PL, Serie A, or the BL. No hate here, I enjoy seeing the MLS grow, but I'm wondering why the gap is still so significant. Is it talent pool or level of training or both?
