He deserves it, amazing ride. That was so amazing how he manage to not crash there
Abdul Ekiyoyo often at the 2nd place, he trully deserved that victory
Raised road markers give a totally different grip. Like slates after riding on tarmac.
6:06 "Hey guys I know a shortcut."
the announcer didn't even notice at first
Epic
@@jonahconner1111 Yeah I should have watched it all the way through before I posted. :p
he thought it was still 2015
I was looking in the comments to see if anyone said anything about it, and my humor was not disappointed.
He is an amazing rider. That save was unbelievable.
This just shows how small the difference can be between winning and having a horrible crash. I can´t even imagine what would have happened if he had crashed with that speed there.
Stop using an image of the winner as the thumbnail!
I recommend finding the race on steephill tv if you didn't see it live. They post videos without spoilers
Well done Fuglsang !!!! All of the Danish nation is proud to be danish right now !!!!
Hvis han så bare vandt tour de france
Would you have been less proud to be Danish if he hadn't won ?
Proud of a dude on drugs lol?
@@pato20995 I really dont know if the accusations make sense. Why would he be doing intervalls followed by Ferrari, who is known by everybody who knows cycling, when there is about 70 pro cyclists that live there and they all see each other when they train on the same hill. Its really unlikely but the cycling never surprises me.
Fuglsang's smile when he sees that Alaphilippe is dropped - priceless I suppose after 3rd at Amstel Gold and 2nd at Fleche Wallone, the win here was inevitable (despite the ridiculously close call at 5k to go)
My jaw dropped for like 30 sec when I saw the near crash.
Thank you, NBC Sports, for this recap and this was another fantastic finish in a season full of them. Ain't no way Jakob was playing second fiddle today.
Love how the presenter completely misses the rider going cross country @6:08.
9:16 holy balls! what a stud
Fuglsang is good in the rain. Some of his best performances have been in rainy conditions. Even at the Worlds in Yorkshire he did well (finished 12th). By the way, Valverde quit in Yorkshire as he did in LBL. :)
Why would you make the thumbnail a spoiler?
Bruce Denis every time with NBC highlights, they either don’t care about their YouYube community or do it deliberately.
Jakob Fuglsang was incredibly close to a crash and many saw incredible injuries on him in a fraction of a second. I am convinced that Jakob's many years in the mountain biking sport saved him!
vincenzo Nibali: heart legs and balls. bravo
See his calf's too.
More of this. Give us a dedicated cycling channel
They did. It was called Sports Gold. We paid $59 for it and then in middle of year they stopped the app and said to use Sports app which does not allow us to wAtch cycling content.
Buzz Man what a ripoff
9:18 MY GOD !!! 😮😳😲😮😳😲😮😳😲😮😳😲😮😳😲
I can watch this again and again. I think the weather helped Jacob a lot. You could see Valverde abandon early. Many of the top riders are just not motivated in these conditions.
5:12, kid ond the side of the road: YEAHH I got the souvenir EF staff: no you didn’t , now give that musette to me muhahahaaaa
There are lots of variables as to why he didnt crash. And I believe the small imperfection in the asphalt just made the rear end a bit loose. 1st, he's a pro and most of these guys would have doctorates in bike handling skills. 2nd, he wasn't on the brakes nor did he panic and grab a fist full of them. 3rd he was properly balanced during the corner giving him space to correct after his wheel broke loose. 4ish, he had plenty of exit space to correct. Either way you have to ride a lot to naturally acquire those skills. Cross, bmx, and mt. Biking offer those grates and carry over to more confident road riders. Great win!!
The rear tire momentarily lost traction on the painted marking
He is also an early MTB rider... He won U23 WorldChampionship
@@ReVoltaire his tyre came loose between the painted lines. Watch the slow mo carefully. There was a small patch or inconsistencie of asphalt or concrete.
9:20 speechless..
Jakob Fuglsang started off in cycle cross. His skills are shown in that save in the forrest.
Why put a spoiler in the thumbnail??? Having seen who won before watching, it is no longer "extended highlights", it is "extended lowlights". Nice amateur move, NBC--time to step up your game.
Yeeeeeeeeesss🔥🇰🇿❤️
This is the only way to watch cycling on an app because NBC Sports doesn t support nor honor the Sports Gold experience that we were sold and that we paid for.
9:15 Siiideways!
Astana with 23 victories this season. lmaooooooooooooo
[ vino intensifies ]
astana rap is doing its magic
09:18...save of the year!!!
He's a mountain biker! He recovered because he didn't hit the brakes. Keep the front wheel pointed where you want to go and the rest of the bike will follow.
does anyone know the name of who did voice off?
Astana legend 21 years
@9:18 MotoGP save
Dancing on a Bike, what a save!! :O :O :O
Anybody noticed this guy taking it straight thru the specators onto the grass? 6:08
If Fuglsang would have wiped out in that corner, everyone would be crying foul: " OMG OMG these courses are too dangerous, the UCI needs easier courses with better asphalt, and smoother roads, waaahhh waaaa waaaa".
❤️❤️
6:08 he said "I'm out"
Sådan Jacob 😃🥰 Gik ikke så god for den fransk Mand idag 🙈😂
Love the Astana rider going off track and the front man turns around WTF.. And the commentator ofc doesn't spot it. Sadly so many lacklustre international commentators suck at this
Painted roads are a cyclists. nightmare. It's not good for any wheeled vehicles, actually. Can't they come up with better paint?
Era justo que ganara Jakob Fuglsang
Fugelsang? It's actually Fuglsang!

9:19 Could have been a farewell to the Tour de France had he crashed there.
Matxe9212 It could have been, however, I think the injuries probably wouldn't add up to over 2 months out.
Hard to know what would have happened. Could have simply gone sideways and slid. Cuts and bruises. At the other end of the scale anything is possible.
Astana is the best team
6:06 im outta here
The commentary is terrible. Just terrible. So monotone.
