DIY Camper Van Conversion | Full Build Timelapse | VW Caddy

DIY camper conversion from start to finish. Built on a VW Caddy, this conversion took around 4 months to complete and whilst large enough to fit a full-sized bed, hob, sink and cool box, it's small enough to use as a daily run around and park up easily.
I'll be adding a few more in-depth how-to videos in the coming weeks on the tap/sink, blinds, steam-bent windows and more so stay tuned for those! In the meantime, watch the full tour of this lil VW Caddy here: • VW Caddy Van Conversio...

  • This is just such a comprehensive start to finish conversion with so much attention to detail , it inspires you to think to yourself "wait, I could do that" while watching it. I couldn't help but think to myself, as you were building out the bed unit, since it's such a small van, what if you were to make it serve double duty by turning it into your main storage cabinet/worktop/etc when it is upright on its side? Then you could have the left side of the van as a sitting bench, and once you're done doing kitchen/work stuff during the day, drop the thing down 90 degrees for an instant full size double bed.

  • ABSOLUTELY STUNNING! And I love how well thought out you did everything! I am a disabled senior that travels for suicide awareness Since losing my son Jeff in 2016, in my wheelchair modified 2010 dodge grand caravan with my four Chihuahuas. I have a wire cubby in the Hatch area for storage. I also have a platform bed with some storage space underneath. I have kept the smaller section of the backseat as well as the two front seats for when my grandchildren travel with me. The rest of the floor space is taken up by my power chair. I am by no means a minimalist and definitely travel with too much stuff. And I still have more stuff for camping and emergency gear at home for the day I can score a larger rig. Unfortunately, due to the wheelchair modification, I cannot have a rear hitch for a tiny trailer or even a storage box on the back, and being in a wheelchair it is hard to access anything on the roof. But I do have 2 solar panels and a roof box up top for when other people travel with me. My dream vehicle is a short wheelchair Bus conversion with plenty of storage space! Safe Travels n Enjoy YOUR Journey! ❤ youtube.com/@JeffeysMom

  • So far I have seen quite a number of builds of campers because for several reasons I seriously consider to start to live in a camper myself. This is the smallest van I have seen so far. What I like most is that you kept it as simple and practical as possible but with some cute details such as the mirror. I also like the colors. You kept it light. This makes it more spacious. Even though this is too small for me I still think this is extremely well done. Double thumbs up.

  • Wood & Wild I enjoy quick timelapse videos - you see a job being completed. But, oh how satisfying it is to see you and your handiwork in real time. The loving care as you apply rust inhibitor to a hole drilled in the metal; to see the careful application of adhesive to ensure a perfect assembly of the solar cells to the roof. I have enjoyed it so much. I'm a little past all of that but to see the devotion to detail and the caring use of tools is a spectacular sight. Keep on keeping on, in such a diligent and marvellous manner. Well done.

  • Wonderful craftsmanship. The three standout moments for me were firstly, cutting out the panel for the windiw; secondly forging a channel in the roofrsck for the solar electrics; and thirdly, steaming and forming the curved frames. And if that wasnt enough...you took out a sewing machine to make tricky upholstery covers and window shields! You have a great pair of hands coupled with mathematical precision and a creative eye. Is the soundtrack yours also? If so...I can't deal 😅😅

  • Thoughtful design and beautiful workmanship - less is more in a small van. The only change I would make is simplifying the cushion layout - that could be a pain to arrange every evening. I'd sacrifice the (rather beautiful) mirror feature for a more practical cushion layout. Great use of pocket-holing as fixture technique - seems to enable a lighter build, which means less weight overall. Great video and build - thank you, and congratulations.
