  • Watching your videos here on KZhead has changed my life - 42 days ago I was a 100% disabled combat veteran who lost his wife October last year…I was 193lbs at 5’8” and couldn’t do anything with my twin 6 year old boys. Most days I stayed in bed, sometimes not even able to use the bathroom by myself. I had enough, quit taking all my medicine except for my injections every 90 days and started fasting while finding a diet with science behind it tailoring to my TBI/MS with accompanying complications. After 4 days of fasting I got a couple of 25lbs dumbbells for upper body strength and one bigger 50lb weight for lower body strength. I have now been doing my regular routines every day, carnivore diet and intermittent fasting for a grand total of 42 days - I cannot begin to explain what a difference it has made in our lives. Daddy is back with a vengeance with a body of a fit college kid and down to about 9% body fat…I look and FEEL absolutely amazing and everyone around me, especially my kids, are just flabbergasted and dumbstruck about my transformation. After being alone, depressed and cooped up in my bedroom for an entire year…I am now participating in my kids soccer, gymnastics and flag football…no pain, no ataxia and no worries!!! TRY THIS PLEASE PEOPLE, YOU WON’T BE DISAPPOINTED.

  • While I agree that honey has too many carbs to qualify for the carnivore diet, honey is not bee vomit. Bees carry nectar back to the hive in a pouch in their esophagus (after all, they can't really carry around tiny little buckets); it never gets down to the stomach and so, technically, it is not vomit. We beekeepers really don't like to hear that honey is bee vomit; we especially don't appreciate hearing it from a medical professional who should know better than to use such terminology to refer to a valuable agricultural product. In addition, I am a retired veterinarian. Believe me, I know the difference between vomit & honey.

    • Honey is a food, not a breakdown or decay of food. Bees use their honey pouches to store it (not stomachs) and then add enzymes to it when they release it back up through their mouths. The expressed concern for those on a carnivore diet that the honey is primarily carbs is valid but honey is not regurgitated matter from the stomach. It is stored nectar in the honey pouch and enzymes are added by the bees as part of the process of making honey. Honey is known throughout time to restore health in the body as well as give important nutrients for sustenance. It is and has been beneficial to countless numbers of human beings. I find much of this doctor’s understanding of how the body meets nutritional needs and the processes it uses as being both rudimentary and overall not sound. For another example he recommends a supplement (he said he would put in the description but it’s not there) that is as far from eating nutrients the way our ancestors ate them as it gets. There are no supplements that can substitute for eating animals and animal by products via a manufacturing process that is anything near the same as the products themselves. I’m not against supplements, it depends on a number of factors. My point is that he wholesale discounts, for example, all collagen powder but then recommends this particular supplement company that indeed manufactures collagen, along with glandulars and fish eggs and intestines. Intestinal contents by the way are pre digested food that is in the process of breaking down. It is a great source of nutrients BUT if we are talking about something that has gone through the stomach (of ruminants) and is now in a state of break down through fermentation, it isn’t food but rather it is pre digested material - similar to what he is claiming honey to be. But nectar in the pouch of a bee for transport is not pre digested, thus it’s not breaking down. I’m not saying that those on a carnivore or keto diet want any carbs in their diet, often there is a strictness about carbs due to what some on these diets experience as soon as they have sugar or grains, which can be bloating and a sense of distress as the body uses bacteria and yeast to break down the carbs and sugars causing fermentation to achieve enzymes for transport. However unlike eating the predigested content of the intestines and stomachs of ruminants, honey is a food by all definitions. It is created through nectar and enzymes, not through a breakdown in the stomach and digestive tract. Of note: Carbs become sugar as they break down, proteins become amino acids, and fats become fatty acids. When sugar is an issue for the body due in large part to the difficulty of the body in making enzymes for transport, a protein/fat diet can bypass this issue. However beware, you can see that some people running long term on solely protein/fat begin to cannibalise the tissues excessively. Tea and honey is good to explore as at least a bit of a bridge to a healthy carb. If excessive tissue loss (loss of muscle, ligaments, tendons, bone, cartilage) starts to occur, seek professional assistance. And, be sure to take feedback from those around you as to whether you’re waning, you may not notice the tissue loss is excessive. If the latter occurs, loss of tissue and an inability to perceive it occurring, it is serious as it is the definition of an eating disorder.

As a chef, if you are a customer on a specific diet and you simply say "I'm allergic to x" to make sure we take every precaution to keep it out your diet, please let us know when you book the table, not when sat with a menu. By letting us know when you book the table, we have time to prepare and take the right precautions whereas if you do it in the middle of a busy service, it adds stress onto the chefs and we have to spend longer on said customer, meaning all the other customers will wait longer 🙏

  • So, I got my step father of 75 years of age to do carnivore and he lost 25lbs in 2 weeks. His doctor freaked out and said that his liver enzymes are very high with this diet and the drug he takes that combats muscle fatigue. I suggested that he change his 3 meals a day habit and get rid of the drug. He has finally changed his eating habits once he regained the weight. He no longer takes the advice from the drug doctor. And now understands that the fewer meals a day from 11am to 4pm is key. Yay, he lost the weight that he struggled with. Bye bye food pyramid and 3 meals a day to support the food industry.

  • Really enjoyed this video...I was told my whole life that I needed to eat fruits, vegetables, juices, grains and such. I never enjoyed them but I did eat them because I was told that is the way it is. When I got into my 20"s, with no one telling me what to do I ate strictly meat and I felt great. My only problem is I am an alcoholic. My reason for drinking was because I was a loner and never felt comfortable in social situations without being drunk. I did this for a very long time...I got married when I was 38 (for the first, and hopefuly the only time), I met a fantastic lady who is a very social (as if it's a bad thing) person and continued to drink to keep up with being social. I finally got sick of feeling like crap every morning from the booze and decided to quit. It was 2 weeks before I started to quit drinking that I ran into a friend of mine that I used to work with that told me he was on a carnivore diet. I asked, what is that and he told me he read a book by Shawn Baker, he tried it and he was feeling great. With the respect I had for my friend, I decided to try it and it changed my life!!! I did the carnivore thing, ate eggs, ribeye steaks, bacon, butter and sometimes some suit and before I new it I was feeling better. I decided to quit drinking beer (my flavor of choice) and I found it much easier to quit than I thought it would be. I don't know if the carnivore diet work for everyone but it's worth giving a try.

• I live in Patagonia, it is a livestock area, mainly sheep and for many years the main diet of the population in my region was mutton and natural cow's milk and very few vegetables, the breakfasts of the farms were mutton chops and it was cooked with fat, in the houses people had chickens and fresh eggs, natural milk, fresh or cured mutton. We were always told that our diet was unhealthy, but there were very few obese people and the health of the people in my region compared to the rest of Chile was very good. My great-grandmother lived to be 104 years old and several of her siblings lived to be 96 and 98 years old. All those autoimmune diseases did not exist.

  • Mistakes: 1. Forgetting that seafood, eggs and butter are carnivore 2. Eating too lean of a diet (too little fat). Ok to add more butter and egg yolks (pastured preferably) if you can only afford leaner cuts of meat. 3. Not getting enough electrolytes. 4. Not consuming enough omega 3 fatty acids. 5. Not eating organ meats 6. Not consuming enough collagen. (However, avoid powdered collagen -- a waste of money). 7. Eating imitation seafood 8. Consuming sauces, marinades, rubs and gravy 9. Eating out at restaurants without awareness of non-carnivore ingredients used to prepare your food 10. Quitting carnivore too soon (due to temporary discomfort experienced by some when first embarking on a carnivore diet) 11. Restrictng portions 12. Eating processed meats that contain carbs (sugar, grains) 13. Avoiding salt (Redmond's Real Salt is a good choice) 14. Overcooking your meat (don't cook beyond medium rare) 15. Taking supplements (they're unnecessary on a carnivore diet)

  • Dr. Berry I started carnivore four months ago. I am 70 years old, 5'6" tall and weighed 170 pounds. It was time for my annual physical. I had blood work done and a week later saw my physician. I have lost 15 pounds and am feeling pretty good except for a heaviness in my chest which was not severe but would come and go. I attributed the chest heaviness to low quality air in the city. I have always been athletic and I walk three to six miles a day everyday and ride my bike for fun. I got my blood work results and my cholesterol which had never been a concern with my doctor was: Total cholesterol 290 with LDL at 196. Looking back to my pre-carnivore blood work my total cholesterol was 259 with LDL at 168. My physician had not been concerned with my earlier cholesterol numbers though not in the normal range. She did not know I had been on a carnivore diet. I had not known my LDL cholesterol was high until she told me she was concerned on this most recent visit nor did she know about the tightness I was having intermittently in my chest. I immediately attributed the change to the carnivore diet. I love the carnivore diet and do not want to give it up. I also don't want to run into problems with my heart. I would very much appreciate your feedback.

The only nutrition there is for cancer cells, not healthy cells. Also, the omega 6 to omega 3 ratios are grossly in favor of omega 6 which is very unhealthy. This diet of grains has also eliminated most of the minerals, enzymes and vitamins that animals get from eating fresh grasses. Counted carbs trying to stay under 20-net but then another MD says no, stay under 20-consumed. Either way, recording every bite of food to the gram, teaspoon, ounce, etc. on an app is a huge pain in the rear. Heck, I raise my own chickens (have 36 young hens right now) and my large freezer is full of venison I harvest and process myself every year, plus whatever beef we purchase...it's full! Carnivore is what I need to be doing, I see and understand that now. After hearing you talk about saving ALL the bones for bone broth, it makes me ill to think about the well over 100# of venison carcass bones I discarded just this last season. • One little note for number 8. You can make a carnivore gravy with just the meat juices and cream. Stir them in the pan until it somewhat thickens and there you go. Play around with the amount til you get it where you like. It may not be as thick as regular gravies but boy howdy does it taste good.

    • Funny! I stopped with the honey, years ago; my brother has bees and still tries to give me some. Honey spikes insulin plain and simple--it's one of the 80 forms of sugar. Spiking insulin compromises your immune system -- kinda defeats the so-called purpose of honey. Meats give us vitamins, minerals and are by far more beneficial.

  • Foods I eat out on a carnivore diet. Steak 🥩 and Eggs 🥚. Steak rear to medium. Always have your eggs fried sunny side up or over medium. Never scrambled they maybe be adding additional ingredients and most likely are. Flying Dutchman at In-N-Out Burger or a location like it. 4 to 8 hamburger patties cheese onions tomatoes optional. No condiment sauces of any kind. That’s about it unless I’m with a group and a family and there’s not many other options you can almost always order some type of carnivore meats. Going off a little on rare occasions isn’t gonna be a problem it’s consistency that is key and that will be what you buy for yourself take home prepare and eat yourself so that you know best what’s going in your body and even then sometimes it’s hard to be exactly sure, what may all be in something. I want to thank you for your program. You are definitely on one of my top of the list though I still do some keto but mostly 8090% carnivore takes time but you lose weight. Your energy gets consistent you feel better and you feel better mentally and at 63 years old my painful body and mind can use all the help I can get. And I’m talking a matter of one week. I have lost about 6 to 8 pounds to be honest I’m not even keeping track of the Lbs. I know that as long as I keep my glucose numbers down, the fat will come off. The hunger has vanished, completely vanished. This is incredible. I literally went from eating three meals a day to one meal a day without not even the least of struggles, I have more energy where before I had to eat to get energy. The cravings are completely gone. I cannot believe I did not try this sooner! The junk that we hear that we need to eat vegetables is nonsense. What we really need is to eat the proper human diet, I cannot thank you enough. The only thing that I have changed - I have increased good healthy fats and decreased Protein. About 70% fat and 30% protein. • I was dropped by a rheumatologist and escorted out of her office when I did that. I had the worst reactions to every medication she gave me and she finally said we'd wait 6 weeks before we tried a new med. During that time, a guy I know who also had lupus said that in Europe they treat lupus by removing wheat and soy, so I tried that and my lupus symptoms improved better than any of the meds. I didn't realize the reaction I was going to get when I said that was what I was doing. I told the bored student nurse and she said "hang on a second" and ditched me. And my doctor, who was a hefty gal, literally ran into the room. Then she had me repeat the story, and said "Well, I guess you don't need me then," and had me escorted out, which was unnerving. I wasn't sure what I did wrong then, but I know now. I could have singlehandedly ended her practice, one patient at a time. Fast forward 15 years and I went from no gluten, no soy, to low carb, to zero carb and my joint pain is gone, fatigue gone, skin is better, cholesterol and A1c normal and I feel better than I did in my teens.

Five days in and I do not crave carbs at all, feel satiated for a longer period of time, slight headaches, and also a subtle decrease in arthritis and back pain and inflammation. Just went into ketosis today.

I tried losing weight, and I was running 40+ miles a week, and no progress. I’m running about 20 now, and I look like I’m in ridiculous shape. I’m going to keep this up, and it into a Carnivore Lifestyle

    @Kloxbyn@Kloxbyn3 жыл бұрын
    • I appreciate that too. Though he does talk about our "ancestors" from 50, or 100,000 years ago as if we evolved. That makes him lose a little credibility.

    • Ken Jackson If you’re turned off by the theory of evolution, how do you reconcile Dr. Berry’s scientific, evidence-based approach? It seems odd to accept some kinds of science-based evidence but reject other kinds. In fact, some of Dr. B’s and other low-carb nutritional advice are based heavily on human fossil records; if you think that’s fake, why believe any of his advice? (Not deriding creationism itself, but rather the refusal of evolution; I don’t find creationism and evolution mutually-exclusive, since one is magic faith and the other is based on observable data.)

    • @@commonground8412: _"... evolution, how do you reconcile Dr. Berry’s scientific, evidence-based approach?"_ Microbe-to-man evolution has no connection to a _"scientific, evidence-based approach"._ The actual science that Dr. Berry cites is based in studies done with _modern man,_ not some mythical cave man. *Matthew:* _"It seems odd to accept some kinds of science-based evidence but reject other kinds."_ I only reject fake science, like microbe-to-man evolution. Of course when you think of "evolution" you've probably been duped into thinking about speciation. But that's a different process, based on genetic degradation. If man had really evolved from a microbe, new proteins, new molecular machines, new organs and new systems would have had to develop. It wasn't a bad hypothesis back in the 19th century, long before modern science uncovered DNA or any molecular machinery. But errors (mutations) don't accumulate to form the *complex, hierarchical, interdependent* systems that proliferate through life. Life was clearly designed. The revelations of science confirm it.

    • @@commonground8412 Mr. Jackson didn't say he doesn't believe in science! Don't be "that guy", it's so annoying! And by the way, people who don't believe that we-humans- evolved from CRITTERS, doesn't mean we don't believe in evolution, everything evolves! You don't think science is pretty magical, I do, it's awesome, like AWESOME in it's true meaning, you know, something that's SO amazing that you're awe struck? Don't be so close minded- it is so boring and typical. You are a negative person. To believe in something that you can't see is a blessing! Where was science when my grandbaby was supposed to die when when he was 7months old, but he didn't- he lived until he was almost 11years old. Caleb was a miracle that we could SEE with our eyes and scientists couldn't help him at all, but he looked at us with so much understanding and wisdom it would literally take away your breath, & when he smiled in the midst of so much pain- it was like nothing you could ever explain. Caleb smiles, changed the lives of people that got to be near him, he could reach out with his tiny little left hand and touch your hand or your face and make strangers feel something like a miracle! He was beautiful, he was an angel in the truest form of what an angel is. He was a gift from God, not science. He smiled into your soul right up until the moment he took his last breath, when God took back our little gift, to be with Jesus. Now he's gone, but he's not gone, an angel is what he is. And when my time is over, it's Caleb I'll see! And I won't be saying, "Oh, thank you science" I'll be saying, Oh thank you God ❤. You need to think a little bigger, 😪 think about Caleb's smiles.

  • When you were talking about organ meat and our ancestors eating brains, it reminded me of a story my Mother told us. Her Grandmother, was from Bohemia (part of what is now the Czech Republic) and she remembered her serving chicken brains on buttered toast points. 😁 As a child, she was grossed out but still loved to watch her Grandmother crack the chicken skulls open with a big knife (I think after cooking them) and removing the brains. This video reminded me of how much I love Chicken LIVERS sauteed in butter on toast. Now I can add chicken livers minus the toast. They are very rich and filling!! I just started the Carnivore Diet 4 weeks ago. I still have so much to learn and this video really helps with some of the questions that I had. I've suffered from SEVERE RA for 18 years and this is the ONLY IMPROVEMENT I've ever had!! It's WORKING ALREADY. In general, I haven't felt this energized and clear minded in 20 years. I'm 62 and still want to live a LIFE, not just wallow in a bed of pain, exhaustion and depression. It's so tempting to do just that when you have no solution. Thank you, Dr. Berry for giving me a LIFE again. I'm so excited for the future and the freedom it will restore in my daily life!!! God Bless You times a Zillion!! 😇🌟💪
