The layout in The Trainroom was started 5 years ago. For this occasion watch the most insane modelrailroad mega build time-lapse on KZhead. We documented the whole construction during the five years. I doubt someone else has done that, if I'm wrong please post it in the commets.

What a breathtaking endeavour! "Impressed" doesn't cover it. Can't wait to see more. What a layout!
Congratulations on your progress over the years. I’ve been a fan for many years.
Thank you, we are always wondering who our fans are, since they are so quiet. Except the one we meet at train shows in Norway.
@TheTrainroom Akin to two Märklinists in Finland... it is truly a labor of desperation to seek out fellow like-minded enthusiasts in USA. DCC Epoch III East German 0 and 0e in 1:45. Ain't a whole lot.
Absolutely insane, but wonderful!! Congratulations for your work and your ideas. And for the result, of course.
Absolutely stunning, so much hard work and using a lot of skills and experience, thanks for sharing.
What an incredible time lapse! Also, I’ve only ever seen one other guy build a helix without wasting plywood! Good on you!
Thank you. But I didn't invent that helix method. I found it on a Swiss website.
@@TheTrainroom I know it’s just cool. Not many people do it that way
@@TheyMakeItLikeThat And it's also much much faster to cut the wood, as it can be made on a near industrial scale.
Most amazing, thank you for sharing your labor of love. My three brothers and I have built HO railroads starting in 1952 in Tokyo, Japan, to present.
Isn't N scale the most popular in Japan?
@@TheTrainroom I don't know, my family moved to USA in 1955.
Wow! A design masterpiece, work of art build.
I have no words.... just magic
Beautiful, amazing job!
Unbelievable what kind of effort you put in and the scale, just insane. I am really impressed👏
What incredible work and so much achieved. Real inspiration for my layout
i have lot of dreams to realise this is one of them
I see the coordination of at least FIVE arenas: -1- Architect (visionary) -2- Technical Wizardary -3- Skilled Craftsmen -4- PROJECT MANAGER -5- ACCOUNTANT This project is NOT a single person doing just a bit of after hours leisure. I'm impressed with the effort
I think project manager and accountant should also be there. ;-)
Absolutely amazing
One of the most fantastic videos I have ever seen! Thanks for sharing!
Nice work my man. Layout looks great and cant wait to see the finish result.
Fantastic. A layout to be very proud of. Compliments and keep up doing the good work 👏
Amazing!!! Wow! My son would go nuts there. He loves trains. Wont let him see this for a while. Bought him a bunch of brio sets for Christmas and I want him to think that is cool, but nothing will ever be cool enough compared to this! 😂
I started with Brio over 40 years ago, so that right way. I had kids visiting who refused to leave the trainroom, because it was so cool. BTW, I have a Brio video coming up.
Impressive - geweldig! Thanks for sharing!
The laminated pentagonal helix is a really elegant, simple way to build a traditionally complex structure! A really clever idea. Thanks for sharing!
You can find the tutorial here: kzhead.info/sun/eseRkrqgo2uMl3A/bejne.html I didn't invent this method, I spread it by making the videos.
Nice, very Nice 👍 my respect, thanks for showing! Greetz from An Dutch N-Scale modeller.
I have no words to express my respect for your build!!!
Sehr hübsche Anlage Tolles Video Weiterhin viel Gesundheit und Erfolg I am happy Of course
Well done guys looking great
Wow! Wow!! Congratulations, it is a great work done, thanks for sharing, And enjoy!!!
Huge and amazing effort, can’t wait to see how it will grow the next 5 years!
Thank you, let's hope we will be finished in less than 5 years.
Nicely put together and lots going on thanks for sharing DD.
Thanks very much for replying to my comment. That's the great part about the hobby sharing ideas and learning new ideas from other people to improve our Channel's so l have like and subscribe to your channel too .Stay safe DD.
I love the use of all thread for the helix. I never thought of that.
It’s a common method, check the tutorial about it: kzhead.info/sun/eseRkrqgo2uMl3A/bejne.html
Nice job, beautiful train model
Magnificent layout and video. Love the film score!
The score was composed by Finnish artist Tapani Siirtola.
Awesome layout build. It looks like a lot of hard work. You'll be an old-timer in a rocking chair by the end of it! Thanks for uploading.
We hope to be finished by the 10-years jubilee.
Congratulations, well designed layout
I watched in awe! Just a wonderful project; and I enjoyed every minute. I will subscribe and look forward to the next video! Thanks again for your sharing this wonderful project!
Thank you. You can also check your previous video, we have plenty tutorials. Also all the footage you have seen can be found in our layout update with commentary.
Frigging awesome. Thank you for sharing.
This is fantastic. congratulations !!
Beyond fantastic!
Amazing, can’t wait to see more
Excellent video. Thank you.
nice video, a lot of work done! great job!
That's art - wonderful ❤️
Wiring this Layout has Gotta be Mind Blowing.
It's just a couple of 100m wires....
Very Cool! Good job! Stéph.
Outstanding !!!! Keep posting
AMAZING BUILD!!
Congrats, nice to see. I wish I could speed up like you in the film!
WOW!!!! great job can't wait to see more
Superb mate well done 👌
Awesome!! Nice work!!
Very nice. Looking for next one.
Amazing chap well done to all that helped..
Very nice I truly enjoyed the video. I must confess though it wore me out just watching.
Amazing!
Very impressive! Great work.
Thank you.
well done and congratulations.
Einfach nur großartig!! Gruß aus dem Ruhrgebiet/Deutschland ❤❤❤
That was fun watching, now I‘m waiting for the sequels 😉👍🏻
We are already working on it.
The music is epic!
We had the music compose for the movie "Verhäxt und Ufgpiesst" which I made between 2004 and 2008. (Look for it on this channel). I'm still using it, since it was a quiet expensive purchase.
Great video!!! Just subscribed to the channel.
Very cool!
😃😀😄👌👌✌👍👍 I'm still amazed at such dedication, and discipline to complete such a huge and creative outlay, my sincere congratulations to all of you guys, wow guau.
Awesome 👌
What an outstanding video, and some really outstanding work. I am a G scale guy, and am about to build an inside layout. This has given me a lot of inspiration. I would never be able to approach what you have done..
I consider building a G scale garden layout, but my garden is too small for anything except the smallest radius, so I dropped it. The trick when building such a large project, is to focus on the next task, and not on the whole layout.
WOW......Top Video (Zeitraffer)
I had to watch some of this in .25 to see what was being done!! Absolutely AMAZING!!!! Best part was 20:17-20:19- catching the girl in the outhouse LOL Keep up the BEAUTIFUL work :-))
This gadget is produced by Viessmann, and we bought it on the last model railroad faire we were, because it was funny, even if it wasn't cheap. viessmann-modell.com/sortiment/spur-h0/emotion/585/h0-klogeschichten-bewegt
You Guys are super heros congratulations on your comittment to get this trainroom set up ..
great Job
Encore bravo.
Merci.
How have I not seen this ?? Nice work!
Maybe we need to improve our keywords. How did you find it ?
@@TheTrainroom I was just surfing the Tube. I am however an N Scaler.
@@N-Scale This is my most sucessful video, so no wonder it just pop up. I built a N-scale layout before the trainroom: kzhead.info/sun/esyoqNR_rHp8mac/bejne.html
You guys work fast!!! 😛😛😛😛
Bravissimi!!!
That fellow has spent a fortune on Märklin C-Track!
It was nothing compared to the rent of the room over the last 6 years.
Very nice layout and progress. So many questions about some of the material usages and the switching between C and K track over the layout.

Sehr beeindruckend. 🤩
Danke für das Lob!
Hello your video is also nice greetings from the Netherlands have a nice evening 😊
Good to meet you yesterday with Charlie. This is a very impressive video. I felt quite exhausted at the end of it! Update Sorry I have you confused with another fellow. I like your channel though!
Hmm... who is Charlie ? The Charlie I know has never been to the Trainroom nor did I met him yesterday.
Un trabajo soberbio. Bien hecho.
Wow!! Subbed
EPIC!!!
Fantastic!!
Thanks!
Best time lapse of a layout on KZhead!! Being from the U.S. may I enquire what kit or kits is the factory at 17:10? I have been looking for exactly that type of facility for my layout. Great Job! Truly well done!!
Thank you very much. The factory is a kit from Faller: kzhead.info/sun/qdJpdLyFr3t8bKs/bejne.html
@@TheTrainroom Si tacuisses ...
Fantastisch, tolle Arbeit Respekt, 👍🏻👍🏻👌🏻🔝😁😁
Vielen Dank.
Absolutely amazing ! After my 10 years of construction I am still in the base level.... Can I ask, what are you using the gray pad under rails ? I am looking for something like that. Thank you
It's called Depron and we buy it in the DIY store in the tile and floor departement.
your model railway layout is very impressive. especially the 5 years construction time
Congratulations really everything is great, you are wonderful, a few questions: 1) How much is the model in centimeters? 2) All Märklìn equipment? 3) Obviously digital with which digital exchange? 4) Can the room that contains it be visited? 5) Where are you located please? Thanks again. Lorenzo Marinelli Ancona Italy
1) The layout is 650x450 cm 2) No, we use a mix of all brand, we quiete some Roco. Also many NMJ and some HAG. 3) We use ESU with Rocrail 4) Yes, we have our open days. But for visirors from abroad, we can open at any time. The layout is not always in drivable state, so we prefer non surpise visit. Contact us over Facebook, or our business email. 5) It is located in Heggedal in Asker in Norway. About 25km from Oslo. There is a train station right in front of it.
Hammer. Handwärklechi Topleischtig
Das ist mal ein großes Projekt! Ich backe da eher kleinere Brötchen... Aber auch die Detailgenauigkeit ist wirklich schön. Bei dieser Größe ist das bemerkenswert. Wirklich toll. Viele Grüße Florian
Vielen Dank.
Wow! Just stunning work of art. I do have my own very simple Märklin models and some track, hopefully one day I work on my old hobby again, at the moment spending time on astronomy, another more than great hobby!!
Astronomy is also great. Would like to have my own telescope, but then I would need a cabin in the middle of nowhere, as there is way too much light polution. Also astronomy is not possible 2-3 months per year in Norway, as it is not dark enough,
Honestly, this looks satisfying, though I prefer to build a layout the Woodland Scenics SubTerrain way. But great work. :)
If we would use these kind of products, it would blow the budget. Much cheaper to get stuff from DIY stores.
@@TheTrainroom But Woodland Scenics products makes building a layout easier and more fun.
very nice. it is a nice "moderate" sized model railroad. what software did you use for the planning?
I used RailModellerPro which runs on Mac only.
How much invested some dedication there
Giant layout
If it was easy we all would have one
That is just incredible !!! How large is the room and the layout? How many folks have been involved in this project?
The room is 6.5 x 4.5 m and like 5 m high. ONly us two you see in the video have been involved on regular basis.
@@TheTrainroom Wow, that's a lot of space to work with. I have a 1,500 sq m basement, but it's full with model cars, and I just started with trains about a year ago. My current plate layout is about 3.65 x 1,17 sq m, but I'm planing an L-shaped layout in the adjacent room, which is 6,50 by 3.65 and 2,10 to 2,40 m high.
I have nothing to do with trains and stuff. But i love when people have hobbies.
Thank you.
I use my huge unheated basement and laid down 4 4 by 8 sheets of ome quarter inch plywood. I stayed with HO gauge and circle two of into a third one 4 was young and motorized engine turn table. My bag item was an N gage amusement park and N train ride vehicle crossovers my vehicle crossovers electricity all of my lights too Moving out, I sold the whole thing for small money to college student as much as I did very fun I had lots of corrosion on the tracks.
How much did the temperature vary? I tried to ahve a model railroad at the Oslo Transport Museum. The exhibition all is unheated, meaning the temperature swings between -20C and 30C. After a couple of year I sold the whole thing as it didn't work, and too much trouble.
