I grew up fishing. I haven't fished in years but I feel so irrelevant as a fisherman. The size of these fish make me feel like I wasn't really doing anything except playing at fishing. Incredible.

I have a small creek like this down the rd from my house called Drakes creek. It was named dirtiest creek in Ky. I thought they were kidding till I looked it up. LoL I’ve caught sone nice bass snd bluegill out of it but not catfish. Last time i Tryed to use cut bait catfishing in it I caught a massive copperhead snake. It was one of biggest copperheads id ever seen. I don’t do well with snakes either 😆.Looks like y’all caught some nice ones. I enjoy Ty channel as well. He usually catching something petty epic! It’s great to see the different KZheadr’s get together and do some fishing!

That's a great fishing trip Spencer 😁 out here in Colorado we have streams and rivers that are that small and they hold massive catfish and walleye in em. Free lining and setting clickers and letting em get smoked is a blast year round.
Man, ya gotta like that. I've thought about heading out there to walleye fish. Maybe one of these days.

Gar is actually quite good to eat. We always just threw then back until a couple ofnyears ago when we decided to trying and we were very surprised. They have 2 long pieces of solid white meat, similar to tenderloins. They can be a pain to clean, basically you're cutting through armor, but they're worth eating.
I think they're delicious too. Might cook some when I get to Florida.

Catfish feed off the bottom mostly so free line is the best option

Is it possible to talk about the permits needed in the places you fish? I'm an old lady (73) and in CA. It is about $60. If you want a 2nd pole it's more. I see you and others using several. Could you speak to that as well? Thanks again for a great time.

You should go down to Marshall Creek in Roanoke behind Walmart it's called trophy club Park that's my favorite spot they have the biggest flat head but they're very hard and smart to catch
