I kept hearing about Emo. So I decided to check him out. Here I go down another rabbit hole...
A true comic genius and when you meet him, humble and kind.
That is so true, I had about a half hour convo with him. The first thing I asked was, "What's it like writing jokes for smart people?" (He'd had a dumbass heckler that night who got thrown out after Emo refunded the man's ticket price from his own pocket). He sighed and said, "You have no idea! But I try to have something for everybody."

I remember watching this when it first came out at my parents' house. My mom and dad did not laugh once and I was in stitches the whole time. Different generations I guess.

He’s incredible. Still making audiences laugh today. Love the religious joke at the end of the show. That looked like it took every ounce of energy to deliver.
I went to see Emo in 2002-ish and he sat with us and my friends for half an hour after the show. They made me do my Emo impression for Emo himself, and I did the punch line of the Baptist joke. He'd had a rough night (a heckler was thrown out) and he beamed at me and said, "You're better than me!" I was in heaven meeting one of my comedy idols.
Вобщем, там в шутке на 6:33, думаю надо указать на игру слов - "I`m going to miss you" переведено, как "Я буду скучать по тебе", в значении "Я промахнусь по тебе". "I`m going to miss you, because i broke the side of your rifle"- Я промахнусь по тебе, потому что сломал часть своей винтовки
Whoever the fellow is doing the intro is pretty funny himself, good comedic straight guy he does there.

A lot of these jokes are puns that work in the english language - i am curious how they translate to russian. For example, the joke at 6:36. In my language, "missing someone" translates to "my heart gets tight" - in English "missing" also could mean "missing a target" so I am not sure how this joke could possibly be translated to my language :)
К сожалению, здесь машинный перевод, поэтому такие шутки никак не переведены, а иногда звучит какая-то несуразица. Но Эмо Филипс и без этого смешной:)

Why is he not a king or ruler of the world? I would kill hundreds to enter there vote. I don't even like cole slaw...but I love rat heads and I absolutely love Emo. Mayo is gross...but I also love Life of Boris. He is a big mayo fan.
