Good Morning GA Friends!!!! I planted the Pollypetitie in a little space dedicated to my Grandmothers. Her name was Polly and that shade of purple was her favorite. Thanks to Laura and Aaron I now have "rooms" and spaces in my yard that are thoughtful and on purpose. I learn something daily from you all, thank you for everything!

Morning! Zone 2 here ! 🥶(gets down to minus 45) and let me tell you it can be frustrating finding perennials. There are (on avg) 6 frost-free weeks per year🤷♀️. I live vicariously through this wonderful community...lol! 🌿🇨🇦🌿

Not related to this video, but I think an excellent video idea for the highlights channel is for Aaron to gather footage from over the years and put together a “what to do in the garden” by month series. It would be nice to see what Laura is sowing, planting, pruning every month in one video. I would imagine it to be especially helpful for those of us who don’t live in zone 6, who can’t follow Laura step by step to have a quick guide/check-list to refer to.
I believe they did a couple of 'jobs for the month' videos, and mentioned continuing it. It was a while ago but I hope they do!
Yes, yes, yes, I totally agree with this, I'm in a zone 9 so I have to adjust a lot to earlier or later since our growing season is so long, but I also appreciate how hot it gets up there because it's like that for us down here, plus lots of humidity though🥵😆
Excellent idea. Laura is a great at explaining how and why she does things. Having a monthly series for this purpose would be very helpful.
It's so subjective to the climate of a garden that i don't think it'll be very beneficial for a lot of people.

It is perfect timing. I am at the stage of gardening of plant and forget. These shrubs are perfect. I am pitching some the perennials to make room. Besides with so many tree roots, these smaller sizes are easier to plant.

The microchip butterfly bush seems like a great improvement over the punster series which has been quite inconsistent in zone 6.

I love Laura’s lists of plants, because it helps me focus on one particular consideration, which is so much easier for my overloaded mind. One comment though: I find that despite labels saying “deer resistant”, most plants are chewed to bones by the deer, especially in the spring, so I would treat that information with some caution.
Thank you Laura for videos such as these. I love flowering shrubs but because I only have so much room due to our pool and remaining yard area, I can't have too many or too big. Now I have suggestions to go to my nursery with, that won't overpower the beds near the pool.

Deer thoughts (East End LI, NY, zone 7A): from my garden 🪴 aka deer buffet 😭 deer looooove the tater tot arbs, yet ignore the Firelight Tidbits for my more yummy big leaf hydrangeas. Panicle hydrangeas for the win!! My tiny wine Ninebarks are thriving and ignored by deer, and we’ve had so many monarchs on our buddleia this year! Deer not interested in it at all. We are going to plant a hedge of the Winecraft Black Smokebush next year to replace some Japanese cedars that the deer munched to death this past Winter. And a taller privacy hedge of Royal Purple smokebush too!! Thank you for all the great inspiration Laura!!
Deer are a nemesis on the north shore of Long Island.
I’m going to plant some firelights if the deer don’t eat those ! We have a family of 20 living in our development 😞

@@jonathandunn7576 they're a plague in New Jersey, especially the closer you get towards Pennsylvania (particularly BUCKS County--see that? It's actually named Bucks).
VA is the perfect home for deer. They are everywhere. My yard is like a buffet for them even though some plants are ignored.
