The Dementor from Harry Potter is an awesome and super scary monster! This flying wraith feeds on happiness and consumes human souls, leaving them an empty husk. When we saw the Spirit Halloween’s Harvester of Souls animatronic by Tekky Toys, we knew that he was destined to be turned into a Dementor!!
We started by changing his pose so that it would give the illusion that it’s flying. We cut apart and sculpted his face to give him the classic "Dementor’s kiss" mouth shape. A new paint job and tattered costume completed his look.
We wanted to change the little girl into Harry Potter…but with a twist. This time, there was no Patronus charm to save him and Harry Potter has been left in a state worse than death. To make Harry Potter, we repainted the original child’s face, gave it a haircut, and Harry’s iconic scar, glasses, and robe.
This was a really fun DIY animatronic project for us, and we love how it turned out - the fluttering costume, the glowing fog effect of the Dementor’s Kiss, and especially the terrified look on Harry Potter’s Face . It's understandable. They destroyed the original to make it so much better! That effect of producing smoke and having a fan to suck it in is such an interesting effect I never thought existed!
Honestly the spooky cloth layering is exactly what I did to make a ring wraith costume a couple years ago. Really good for getting that layered and flowing look

I can't lie, these videos got me into customizing animatronics a while back. I'm sure I'm not ready for a project as big as this I'm sure I could find a way to make it fit my exorcist themed house. Maybe by reversing the fan/fog to make it look like the girl is getting possessed?
I've always wanted to makeover this one after I saw K&T do their Pharaoh version. The first idea I had was the spirit of an old sea captain getting revenge on a friend who betrayed them but I'd probably come up with something else to make more sense with the rest of my halloween setup.
I really hope K&T come back someday!
The finished look of the grey mouth and the shroud around it is insanely cool! It looks amazing guys! If had a harvester of souls I'd def want to customize it. I dont know if it would be anywhere near the level of stuff y'all accomplish but it would be fun to experiment and have a one of kind piece because the fog suck effect is insanely cool.

This is fantastic! Using the chicken wire mesh to have a more horizontal angle really set it apart from classic 'droopy' ghoul style props. Paired later with a low laying fog machine and it's pure heebie-jeebies. I'd make my Harvester of Souls into a Xenomorph from the Alien movie franchise. And have an inner jaw come out during the fog effect. I have an old astronaut costume with a helmet that has a visor that opens so I can use it with bubble wrap to fill it out to make the adult 'host'.
I think that you guys absolutely outdid yourselves with this one, it’s like you guys get even better with each prop you make! “And what would you do if you won?” You may be asking? I would be excited but I would also be able to get my first life-size animatronic ever and I would be so thankful if I won. But even if I don’t win, I know that whoever wins will be just as excited.
This turned out amazing. It really looks like it was always supposed to be harry potter themed. I really loved the added touch with the broken wand. I'm not quite sure what I'd do with a harvester of souls, but it would sure look great next to my wife's and my other horror collectables. lol

Loved that you painted his face for us! I think it would be cool to try making a Brainsucker from Bloodborne out of this. The tentacles looked kind of translucent in game so I would try adding a vinyl tentacle around where the fog is.

The last scene in the graveyard in Hocus Pocus when Max is in Winifred arms. As she is trying to save herself by sucking the life out of him before sunrise as she slowly turns into stone. It would be absolutely amazing if they did that!!

You guys are always doing next level stuff! I bought a couple animitronics this year and plan on using some of your ideas to modify and hopefully improve them. When i saw the harvester of souls in action i thought of a dementor immediately, though I didn't think putting Harry in there. Brilliant! Keep up the great work!
My favorite part of this build was the idea to go with the free flowing strips so that they naturally blow in the wind. Plus fixing the mouth to make it look more natural really added to the piece. I've always wanted to get my hands on this particular animatronic because it's my favorite interaction of all the animatronics out there. I've always wanted to create more of a struggle to the victim having the child make arm and leg movements before being locked into place and going limp for the actual taking of the soul. On top of that just making the victim and the demon more realistic.

This was a fantastic build! Bravo!!! I would make one suggestion, change the victim from Harry Potter to a random student, that way kids who dress up as Harry Potter could pose to act like they are saving the victim (also not be crushed by the death of their hero). Also, if you have multiples of this set, you can recreate the battle at Hogwarts, maybe as part of a Wizarding World party theme.
This was an incredibly smart usage of Harvester of Souls! I love how you two always work so hard to put such an intense amount of detail into each project, even though most of it is never seen! This is definitely one of my top 10 favorite makeovers you’ve done! If I had the Harvester of Souls, I would want to have it fit in with my Halloween yard display, which is a rotting, abandoned cemetery overrun with zombies. I would probably change it to be a heavily decayed “guardian” of the cemetery, breaking out of a crypt to steal the soul of a teenage grave robber. He could possibly also be the reason the zombies are rising, having summoned them to capture the trespassers on the cursed land.
Another amazing build, love it! I think I'd try to go the same route and customize it to setup an entire scene with maybe a Ron and Hermione sprawled out on the ground in front of the demontor already drained, smoke and fog all around with maybe some lit smoldering craters to show the aftermath of an epic magic battle.

Everything look really cool at the end and I especially love the dementor’s face. I like drawing and sculpting scary things and with Christmas coming up, I think this would make for a really cool Krampus animatronic.
I absolutely love everything about this makeover i never would have thought to do this and i love how the cloth is free flowing instead of positioned with wire it makes it look so much more realistic

The project turned out great and the fan to make the down flow is brilliant. I think this was the best part! I have a home haunt hat I wanted to buy this prop for, but it wasn't in the budget. I don't think I would change the theme if I won, but I would definitely want to update the cosruming and painting. I might try the making the mouth smaller because I definitely think it looked better that way.
This project (In my opinion) is one of your best yet! You guys are so talented and get better at each project. If I got a harvester of souls, I would just keep it as is because I've wanted one for years but it's always been to expensive for me. Keep up the great work!
Wow, you never cease to amaze me with your prop-making skills! That new addition of the fan to show motion really brings it to life. I can't wait to see what you come up with next! In the past, I have had a decent Halloween display and in process of buying a home and the Harvester of Souls would be the main focal point of my Halloween display.

Amazing work as always! I especially love the color and texture of the head. It made an already scary anamatronic a million times more horrifying! If I had one I'd love to try making a really scary version of Winnifred Sanderson from Hocus Pocus or even Imotep from the first Mummy movie where he sucks the life force out of people! This is fantastic! Every year I decorate my house Harry Potter themed for Halloween and this is Perfection. Kids in the neighborhood love it, and call us the HP house. I was thinking turning a 12 ft skeleton as Hagrid for next year, but this is perfect. I have use many of your ideas in a smaller scale. Thank you for your videos! Love them!

You two do such wonderful work! But the one piece you need for your shop is a conduit bender. For $50, you can get a Klein bender that will let you shape to the exact angle you need. No more pounding on tubing hoping for the best!

That looks so good! Big HP fan so I love what you did. That said if I got this prop, I think I would probably turn it into a gooey mummy to emulate the scenes from The Mummy where Imhotep was sucking the life force from the crew that had raided his tomb. Maybe make the child into more of an adult-sized prop and scatter some other corpses around to be his previous victims.
I absolutely loved how this guy looked, y’all did an amazing job. If I win the harvester of souls, I would 100 percent just do a total remake on him. IDE make his face look scarier, and ide try to make the girl look more realistic. I would just totally redo him.
