  • Great guide! got one question tho: what's the win condition for outlaw rogue in solo shuffle? Should i focus more on my damage rotation and def cd's management or should try to make enemy healers life as hard as possible? Hard to do both) Rly struggling vs melee cleaves

    • as outlaw its important to choose your kill targets very carefully since all of your damage is physical. in a melee cleave lobby vs something like a ww/warrior, you hit ww with instead of the warrior, so more damage chains off your blade flurry and you're getting more overall pressure since you're hitting leather over plate. looking to cc healers into gouge is rly important in solo shuff and you should def look to do it, especially when you have shadow dance aslong as you dont lose too much uptime for it

    • can use it for bad luck protection or to cc, dance is good damage but u can technically do the same amount if u just get rly lucky outside of it

    • Not sure what damage addon you could be referring to, maybe AdvancedInterfaceOptions in the floating combat text panel? I dont use weakauras for outlaw, all of my trackers are Tellmewhen

  • Great guide. I see you recommend Killing Spree even though you didn't play it for a big portion of your outlaw streams. Could you hint at how you use it ? I'm top 20 EU, I wouldn't see any time where it'd be a good fit, almost feels like I'm ccing myself for 2 sec of 35% dmg reduction while I could peel/los/hook instead. Thanks

    • 100%, the fang embelishments are "bis" but you can play without them. I dont play with them on my rogue on live servers.

  • What are your thoughts on using thistle tea? I find it nice on shadow dance when I’m energy starved so I can more ambushes

    • shouldnt rly be starved as outlaw, if you find yourself starved in dance then you need to wait for more energy before pressing it. thistle tea is alright though, losing find weakness is just really really bad currently.

    • race is pretty irrelevant, all of them are viable, for outlaw specifically i'd recommend nelf if you want to play with subterfuge, and orc/human if you dont.

    • You COULD play it at lower rating, but as soon as you start progressing it falls off SUPER hard. would recommend playing sub rogue for double dps as a rogue

    • theres no pvp trophy to upgrade them to 450 in arenas, you have to do pve for them

  • I'm having a hard time with outlaw in shuffle. I feel like my damage isn't enough to kill anyone, the rounds are too short for my damage to matter. I also don't know how to win when facing double warrior, warr/ret, or when both healers are paladins, it's like hitting a wall. Anyway, I wanted to ask if there is a version of your build that doesn't use shadowdance, as main subtlety feels repetitive to use this ability on another spec. I've also seen that many high-rated outlaw rogues use those two weapons you have. Isn't it necessary to do PvE for them to have that item level, or is there some way that I don't know?

    • pally in general is by far the hardest class for outlaw to deal with, especially rets, best thing you can do is hit the target with the lowest armor and get as much uptime/cleave as possible. you COULD play an outlaw build without dance; but i wouldnt recommend it tbh, if you want to try it heres a link to something i cooked up; BQQAAWulQAmRd/c4Iy2r7VOUFAAAJlkEkERSSSSkUSEQgEJCAJJAAAAAAAJNgDUSSSSSCBAAAA and yea you have to pve for fang weps so its kinda annoying

  • Great guide. Really thank you for putting it together. I have two questions for outlaw. 1) Why mastery is over crit? How much crit do you think is viable? 2) why do you think it is the best melee currently? What can it do that sub rogue cannot?

    • 1. mastery got buffed this xpac and crit is nerfed in pvp, very often main gauche will just be your #1 damage, crit is very viable i played it on my alt rogue and it felt completley fine, feels = to mastery in solo shuffle tbh 2. outlaw is super strong because it's basically the only melee that will always be able to deal damage since it has so much mobility (step, blade rush, grapple, vanish, killing spree with cdr on all of them)

    • try to not script shadow dance into specific globals, instead script it into your rotation or use it for utility, theres two times i would consider pressing dance; 1. press for utility to stun kill target/somebody on enemy team 2. press if bad proc rng to instantly start getting ambushes into the rotation

  • hey Kalvish, thanks for making such a helpful video! I was wondering if you could give your thoughts on how often/if at all you should be looking to restealth as Outlaw? My understanding is for all general purposes you're trying to stay fighting (+enduring brawler stacks) as much as you can, rather than say Sub which is like actively giving up sustain pressure in order to get those restealths and resets.

    • playing around restealths as any rog spec isnt rly a strategy you should try to do this xpac, just do damage and sometimes you'll get a free restealth window just to activate ur stealth bar and cheap shot or ambush something

  • I didn't know Ben Shapiro played WoW Crazy guide, super clear information from a person who has more than the credentials to be trustworthy in terms of being certain they know wtf they're talking about! So much experience, love to see it:) What I also really like in this guide, for instance when talking about the adaptable talents (3:04-4:10, or when you talk about getting a restealth out of cc at 13:15), you don't tell people what choices to make, but teach them how to make those choices. So valuable in helping people not only do well, but understand the how, what, why. You're great at that, you could be a fkn teacher or a writer, or have a carreer in communication or coaching just from that, amazing stuff:D Thanks for putting this time in! Would love for you to do this for the 10.2 revamp as well! Outlaw (I want to call it Combat every fkn time) looks sooo clean and promising, just as your vids:)
