Fun Fact: Taeyong had no dance training prior to his trainee period. In fact, he only took the scout's card because he/she bought him bread and he thought they must be a good person xD the SM dance trainer thought Taeyong would never be able to dance and now Taeyong is a main dancer in a brilliant dance group, choreographs, freestyles and is constantly praised by professional dancers.

@@starsoullove1026 Its not as simple, cmon! we need to understand that our recognition abilities are molded after our own environment I had A LOT of trouble differenciating idols, and the reason is lack of use of certain distinctions, our brain focus on key features and it tends to generalize. example: white people can distinguish white people easier asians from specific regions can do the same with their kind btw yes most actually don't have that much interest but that's another subject.

True. Well done👏🏼 It took me 2 months to memorize and recognise the 18 members, and that was only surface level introduction, than I needed a few more months to really get to know each member and unit and them as a team, it's been over a year since than and still I'm learning new things everyday.

FACTS: Taeyong’s dance teacher in their label once told him that he’s so bad at dancing that the teacher gave up on him. After that, Taeyong got serious and trained hard in dancing. He was ashamed that he was so bad, that was why he always went at the back of the class during dance lessons/practice in order not to disturb anyone and there, he silently practiced. And when he got better at dancing, he would move forward little by little to the middle of the classroom, until he eventually reached the front of the class, and learnt dance in front of their teachers. As far as I know, NCT practices at least 20 hours per day during their training years (singing, dancing, rapping, and more). Taeyong was late sometimes for practice so he got locked out of the practice room. But he wanted to train, so he would practice dancing and singing in the hallways, and would just peek through the glass pane of the practice room door to follow the lessons. But this experience was not unique only to Taeyong because other members who were late for practice/lessons did the exact same, too.

@@JeffAvenue Taeyong is a big inspiration for many of us. That he started at the bottom with almost no hope of improving and climbed all the way the top to become such an incredible dancer. He also proves that with hard work and dedication you CAN in fact get there.
He wasn't locked out because he was late, the non-main practice rooms were ones you were supposed to book and they were always booked by other trainees so he practiced in the hallway Either way that's mad dedication. And now Taeyong choreographs, produces, composes, writes and takes care of a huge group, so he deserves every bit of respect and admiration tbh

I love that you’ve pretty much learned all their names already 😂 Especially in dance practices it’s not that easy to tell them apart. Anyway, Taeyong actually had no training in anything before he joined SM, which is why us NCTzens appreciate him and his hard work so much!

Fun fact: at 14:24 The translation of what Doyoung was singing is “I’m starting it now, just the half of it” and if you look at the time on the actual music video, he sang it at around 2:15 mark so it literally is just half of the 4 minutes and 30 seconds of the whole music video hahahhaha but it felt like the song’s ending but actually there’s still half more

I watched another dancer’s reaction to Kick It and he knows the choreographer and said that he probably was going for a fighter vibe or like a dance crew kind of vibe so it wasn’t 100% synchronized since everyone’s interpretation of “give your 100%” was different. But yes cherry bomb is the norm when it comes to their dance - clean and synchronized. You also need to see their Chain dance practice - bc that one is wild

Someone mentioned in the dance pract. video that Taeyong said in an interview that the dance has elements of sports/games; baseball (5:07 swing), bowling (10:03 pins falling), cards ( 8:36 distributing them), billiards (8:34). And at 9:45, the members threw the bomb and Yuta represents the bomb exploding. 💚
I dont know about B-boy training but I know Taeyong has training in Taekwondo, which he likes to utilize in his dancing. Lots of the athletic training in Taekwondo can be transferred and adapted into dance from my experience so I think hes using that to his advantage in dance.

@@kayla-dw2is Actually I would like to humbly correct myself. He did the auditions (popping) in a very bad way. He did not know how to dance nor rap. He probably knew how to dance like the kid/very beginner way, like basic sway stuff. Cause his dance teacher in SM almost gave up on him and is now proud of what his drive and hardwork had became of him.
I really appreciate that you took some time to learn their names and the meaning of the song. Anyway Taeyong didn't know any about music, dance and rap at the first time he joined SM. He passed audition by sang the anthem song. Now, he is very good at everything.

I wholeheartedly agree. It is incredibly satisfying to watch a group dance/perform in complete and perfect unison. The synchronization tells a lot about the performers. The insane level of training, discipline, and self-control. Whenever a group performs as a coherent unit, you can see the endless hours poured into practice. And the mental fortitude to not want to outshine the others by tweaking a move here and there. As for the expression of individuality, that naturally comes out over the course of time and multiple performances. Great video as always. 😊

Theres this taeyong cherry bomb fancam from Mera on youtube, you really should check it out! You dont have to make a vid of it but its seriously so good. And at the end his mic fell, and you should see how he control his movements as if nothing happened.

The tune or beat you heard when the dance practice just started was one of their songs in their album. The song is called "Run 2 u". I do agree that on the MV, it missed out a lot of good moments. Most of those sick choreos can only be seen through their dance practice and live performances. It might have been because they wanna save for the performance itself. I was shocked to watch the choreo for the first time. I was like "They didn't show this on the MV!" I actually love the song tbh and the choreo just made me love it even more. Cherry bomb is actually the song that really pulled me to NCT.
They can only show so much off the MV that’s why I like watching the dance practices too. I even want to see their visuals in the MV as well and there’s no time for it lol.

9:29 No, that was WinWin (at "I'm the biggest hit") Also yes, Haechan sometimes has some rap lines in NCT songs but rarely. Also that line in particular (around 13:45) is sounds pretty much the same from member to member and it's kinda harmonized voices I think with a lot of post-processing. But actually Doyoung mentioned in one of 127's interviews that Haechan has during predebut times Haechan had and still has one of the best flows when it comes to rap. So it's really shame that he doesn't showcase it much.

Glad you liked the synchronization in this video. Taeyong stated he only did a pop and lock dance at his audition but that's it. As far as dance training he didn't have any before SM. What you see is all cultivated.
