Lyrics:
There were seven Spanish angels
At the altar of the sun
They were praying for the lovers
In the valley of the gun
When the battle stopped and the smoke cleared
There was thunder from the throne
And seven Spanish angels
Took another angel home

My dad never said the words White man, Black, or any race ever, our own relatives made fun of us, saying we were raised White, because we didn’t get raised in Black culture”. He raised us knowing the Bible and his verse he quoted when things got tough was Romans 8:28 And we know all things work together for good to those who love G-d, to those who are called according to His purpose. That means all things, slavery, rape, murder, any evil or curse will turn into your greatest Blessings, if you trust, follow Yeshua.

Ah, Granddad Whyatt, I miss you, you damned best Grazier in Australia at your prime... well my opinion, none of them were as cool and had good access to Japanese markets in the 80's. Us grandkids loved you tonnes. You won't be chasing the devil's herd across the sky wherever you be, you'll be teaching them how to do it properly so the damned cattle don't escape in the first place.

  • My father died in 2013 at the age of 91. He was an incredible man and a wonderful father. Last month (Feb, 2015) I found an old tape cassette in his house. I brought it to a transfer studio to see what was on it and when they popped it in the player, like a gift from heaven, what I hear is my father singing Seven Spanish Angels. I was stunned and started to cry. He only sang the chorus, but he did so clearly and beautifully (with no accompaniment). I had never heard the song before so when I came home I immediately googled it and found this video. Thank you so much for posting..... my father must have loved this song and after listening to it I'm not surprised. What a treasure. I believe this was a message to me that he is in heaven.

  • I dedicate this song to Larry Mosley who died on July 12, 2016 as the result of an automobile accident which occurred two weeks earlier. Larry, good guy, heart of gold, helpful to all he crossed paths with, was a rugged individualist who grew up in the rough and tumble world of north central California. He loved Country and Western music, his home and family. The story of this song could very well be Larry's story and therefore, it is dedicated to him and his loving wife. May peace be with you, Larry. R.I.P.

I believe she was 16 when they eloped and never returned home. Grandpa worked for the railroad bringing them to Kansas with their first baby on the way. Ten children survived with many miscarriages later, Seven girls and three boys. Grandpa called the girls his Spanish Angels. The first time I heard this song was after Grandpa passed away. This song will forever be my aunts song.
