I love these old school battles! I like the modern cars too but they are point and shoot these days. That's great but seeing the drivers working for a win, missing gears and making the difference on a launch, fantastic! Between these 3 I'd take the Evo 6 😍.

Agreed. I get really tired of seeing the new age awd fan boys shouting about their 0-60 times. You pushed a couple of buttons and dumped the loud pedal. You could pull a monkey out of Whipsnade zoo to do the same thing! No skill to it.

You obs haven't owned a Evo , when I had mine I was paranoid the clutch going after 3-5 launches . Then it's a big bills and evos are not exactly cheap to run in the beginning, if you like to launch Imprezas clutches are better
@@healthiswealth6797 When I owned a Evo 7 GSR many years ago I found it difficult to launch as it was either on or off, and would make a right bang from the diffs as it launched hard and I never felt comfortable launching it, Then I owned a 6 RS with the RS diffs obviously and it was like launching a Impreza much better and seemed like less stress on the drivetrain.

Great lads with cracking motors. Lee’s Evo 7 is my favourite out of the 3. Shame he mis-shifted in the rolling race, but nevertheless, Old Skool always wins.
Shame he can't drive it, when my mate si had he knew how to drive it. None of them know how to launch there evos.
I would say my favorite is a 9 but i'm being biased on my own car lol :). Nice to see them being driven how they should be. Anyone mentioning about them not launching it, don't think they want their transfer cases to leave the car :). The evo 6 will always be the best evo out there. Great Vid

Love the old school 😍 Evo 6 power to weight ratio paid off. My personal choice. Manual gears mean more room for error as seen. Evo 10 launch control may have changed a few results? Another great race. 😁

Those 0-60 launches were really poor. I'm guessing they were taking it gentle out of fear of something breaking? Because if you can't launch an AWD car then ...
When i owned my Evo 5 Rs i was paranoid about my clutch as are the weak point , when I had my impreza sti I would launch that thing 10 x a night and the clutch would take it.
I’d imagine most of them still on standard diffs n driveshafts. Mate had a 6 with 9Rs diff and driveshaft setup, 9gt box from Norris designs and he would launch the shit out of it. Granted he also had twin plate clutch but it would spin all 4 wheels off the line. I’d say the drivers ain’t all that or they scared to break them. Evo tuning is expensive as shit though so don’t blame them
Yeah evos break easy...its ridiculous to put 4wd in a sports car if it's just gonna break.
They have really weak transfercases...
To think that a standard Evo VI is capable of a 4.4 0 to 60 then these guys were either nannying their cars or Mitsubishi UK weren't being entirely truthful with the power output with their press cars.
Still love that Evo 10 though, its such a good car all round. And definitely the most beautiful.

You can brake boost rather than using launch control.. it did seem like the 6 was running more than 500bhp but still can't get enough of this great content.. I do love it when a bike gets thrown in the mix too.. Jamie im always available with my bike on stand by 😉

Yeah this race was down to who has the best mods. As they stated at the beginning the Evo 6 had to be turned down to make it somewhat fair. Also the Evo 6 is the lightest car of the bunch. All these evos are capable of being ridiculously fast even with the not so great SST gearbox.

Honestly the Evo 10 gets a lot of hate because of the engine change and it's gearbox, but this video just goes to prove it can still hang with its older siblings. Evo 10 gets me excited every time I look at them, and I just don't get that feeling from the older Evos despite the Evo 9 being my favourite looking of those older Evos. Great video, I reckon with some mods that FQ440 would go toe to toe with the Evo 6.

The 6 and the 7 are both capable of sub 4 0-60 and low 11 second quarters if launched right.
They need to launch the same way the wrx STI wagon did vs the evo 7

I helm the Evo 6 every now and then. A most satisfying experience every time. She pulls like nothing else on the road and leaves me completely 'de-stressed' every time. A genuine joy.

You can get a lot more pull off the MR in SSport and paddle mode, would've definitely been a tighter race on that last roll. Buying a dual mapped Evo X GSR tuned for 410 and 480whp tomorrow

A lot of scope for this series though, you can do golf gti's, peugeot 205/206/207/208 gti's, renault clio williams vs 182 vs clio 200 vs latest shape.

I think the 0to60 should be done last race so the owners can do a full send and not worry about the car breaking and the car not making the other races .really good video I really enjoyed it 👍👍💪👌

@@healthiswealth6797 Used to have Exedy, my friend. Now upgraded to a Quartermaster 8-leg Race clutch. Softer than my old exedy twin and holds more power. I've yet have to launch the car though.
Just goes to show you how much 4wd technology has moved on with launch control! So difficult to launch an old 4wd motor without bogging.

Evo 7 definitely my choice in Evo. Also the owner of the Evo 7 should've done a better job in the roll race, maybe then he would've given the Evo 6 a harder battle.
The drivers were grinding my gears g, roll race was off and launches were soft 🤣 7 could’ve dominated if he knew what he was doing

Evo sound is one hell of a soundtrack the way they scream high in the rev range is quality 👌. I also love ❤ the soundtrack of the nissan skylines and old school v8 noise . But my best of all engine noises is the lancia delta integrale rally car .
