The song is really emotional. The message revolves around her life, looking back at her old self when life may seem to be more simple. Then to her current status wherein she's now really successful but realizing all that she needs are not those things but those she misses through her normal life, her family, friends, their love and support. You will see in the end a scene where she was looking at her younger self playing on the piano. She wrote Rosé on the mirror which is her current self and then it changed to Roseanne which is her true name and I bet the part of her that she misses. I love her sooo much! @@DerLetzteUchiha She sounds great and different, not better. They’re both extremely talented in their own lanes. Rosé has a great high range and Taylor has a strong lower range. This song doesn’t sound like a Taylor song outside of maybe the cadence in the verses and that it’s more pop and less hip hop/rap than what some people expect from Blackpink. But Rosé definitely embodies the more pop/singer songwriter vibe for her personal brand.

This video reminds you of other Blackpink vids because that's intentional. There are echoes and references to all the other Blackpink videos in here. KTL-a miniature version of the statue of Aphrodite that they blew up is in her room at the start of this video. Stay-the swing and the run down theater DDU-DU-The hat, and the big chandelier AIIYL-Rosè written on the mirror HYLT-That big huge gaping hole in the wall where the piano is looks like the broken rock wall in HYLT. LSG-Her sprint past the exploding sign is reminiscent of Jisoo's sprint, and the field of flowers seems to be an echo of the big field in LSG. Playing With Fire-Well, the big exploding sign and trails of fire are a bit like the burning "Fate" sign. This is a big reminiscence of her career, how far she's come, and in some ways how she misses parts of her old simpler life. "I think about you and I" and "I drive past your house"... She's not singing those lines to someone else, she's singing then to her past self. (Which you can tell by how she's singing with past self at the piano when those lines come .. And Rosè switching to Roseanne, her given name) And there's even more buried in here I still keep finding. This is such a great video. Glad you enjoyed it. And thanks for the reaction.

Thanks for the reaction. Agree, total Taylor vibe, much more than a traditional BP vibe. Funny, Rosé and Lisa are best friends and say they have similar tastes and likes. But Rosé is on the farthest pink side of BP (all the way to sounding like Taylor Swift), while Lisa is on the far end of the Black side, with her hard core rapping and dancing, much more like Beyoncé, and her fellow members even call her Lioncé). Love both, but lean to the Lioncé side. Really like Rose's song. Can't wait to hear Lisa's solo, which I hope is a hard core BP/Black sounding song similar to Rihanna's "Bitch Better Have my Money".
