I'm EXTREMELY impressed with this athlete and her ability to land this BHS...check out why!
Back handsprings can be very challenging when body positions are correct. Arm and hand placement is one area that many athletes struggle with.
Ever see a handspring and think, "that looks like a FROG"?
Learn what that means and how to fix it!

This is actually exactly what is going on with my 10 year old. It’s encouraging to hear that she has enough power and strength then and it’s just body positions that need help. Thank you for this. I’ve been thinking she needs to go back to the basics.
Happy to help! Hope she does well with her corrections!
Yes, this is the correct technique for the *standard* flick flack, but if you wanna up your game and do consecutive (same spot) handsprings, which look way cooler, the "bad" way is actually the one you have to learn. You have to lean *forward* (not backwards) and do a short flip pushing with your *toes* (not your heels). This is only counter intuitive at first. Once you nail it, it becomes just as easy as standards (and you will not go back). In the end, there aren't really right and wrong ways, it all depends on your goals and each requires different approaches.
started well... but ended up too early 🙂
I have the same problem. I never had any lessons or classes. I taught myself lol
