  • *Yellow Boy didn't pee in his amniotic sac , he pooped which is called " meconium " and if he swallowed any that will make him sick if not be fatal to him. When this happens in human babies they are whisked away to the NICU and put on antibiotics and highly monitored . Meconium is no joke when the babies breathe/swallow it in. Sorry he passed away 💗

    • Not true. If humans are able to help, they should help. They are some type of dogs that actually need help, especially the small ones. If you let the mom do the thing she might hurt the puppy at the beginning. And sure, most people do not help because they don’t even know how to help. And dogs are not stupid, they know that those are their babies.

  • When our dog had her puppies, she immediately wanted to clean each one off herself. I don't get why you grab it and wipe it with a towel -- there must be a reason for what mama dogs do instinctively, and I would think this might stress the mom out -- maybe even interfere with bonding?

    • @Amy Shumer Yeah, that's exactly what the mother dog does, isn't it?? And I think it's the amniotic sac, not the placenta, that is still on the puppy when it comes out - it's a thin membrane that the mother dog can easily lick & pull off from the puppy.

      @karenlcullen@karenlcullen5 жыл бұрын

    • @@taintedgrl so difficult to give a judgment here as everyone has rights and wrongs in their comments. My experience is that if a dog or car trusts you they will let you handle their young but I guess it is best for the mamma to clean and lick the babies herself; unless there is an imminent danger to mum or pups, it is really her job. Obviously, she needed a Cesarean at the end so they were able to be quick witted about that. Re golden boy, I feel he could have been coaxed back to some kind of existence. if they had been able to obtain a medical verdict on his situation; did she mention they tried tube-feeding him? he could have picked up some strength that way; re his claws, perhaps it would have been difficult to sell him but maybe the claws could have been reverted to a normal position with exercise or massage - I don't know just suggesting as my friend was told by a vet that her injured cat should be put down as he could not move. She has massaged his legs, both hind and back, so that he can now walk.... their assessment of his internal organs may or may not have been correct but only a vet would be able to deal with that (yes, I know they can make mistakes!) with any certainty. he may have had colic or constipation..... needed relieving.... not eating enough would have made him feel weak etc... I don't know, it does seem drastic that they had him put down after 2 days.... but they seem decent enough people and seem to care for their animals....every family, every situation is unique...

It was nice to see what actually took place as this was new to me. The puppies look like our puppy. We also chose your video because we are naming our puppy Lexi. This was fascinating to my husband and I. Our breeder sends us pictures weekly, we are bringing her home at 12 weeks. The mom had 6 puppies in all. 4 females and 2 males. Thanks again. • All animals have a runt. The runt is always shunned by the mother. However, there was no reason to put the puppy to death. Runts have a true fighting chance if bottle fed. It is very sad to hear that poor pup didn't get a fair fighting chance because owners thought it was best to kill him instead of help him grow. Even if he had medical issues (which by the reasoning in the video, sounds like no one truly investigated if he did) there was still a high chance of life. Lack of knowledge regarding animals is saddening. That dog should have been at a medical clinic from the get-go.

    • Maisie U never interfere with the mommy having her puppies she knows how to give birth. She has to clean them her self and eat after birth to have a easy birthing next time. So let her have them on her own. It takes time to have a baby. U pull the babies out to fast and that’s why some of the intestines came out. Let her give birth on her own. That’s why they call it natural birth. Do u have Veteran Dr degrees. 🙏🙏🏼God Bless that went to heaven. God bless the mommy 🙏💕🌼

  • Ya'll need to stop putting so much damned stress on that dog. Stand back and watch, don't touch the puppies and definitely stop holding the goddamn dog. She deserves better than that. Ripping the puppy from her immediately after giving birth and taking the placenta off is depriving her of natural bonding instincts, and you can visibly SEE how disturbed the dog looked. You don't need to shove your face in her vagina, she'll birth normally. Jesus christ.

How old even are any of you? Most dogs may not need help, but most caring owners help if they know it’s needed. Also, it’s recommended to put iodine on the cords to prevent infection. Also, you need to make sure the puppies are out of the sack VERY quickly after birth or they will possibly die.

It’s literally only helping. And the DNA argument works both ways. Humans created dogs, though millennia of selective evolution. Wouldn’t it make more sense that dogs would respond positively to humans, especially trusted ones.
