Dr. Raynolds- how about interviewing Juan Cole. A number of your guests have acknowledged Juan Cole for his recent contributions to the field.
Always a treat to hear from Dr. Andani! Even to a slightly ignorant Catholic 😅
It is not ismaili but the whole islamic mysticism and the sophi litterature
The last seconds through me off the first parts were interesting.

Wow I’ve heard about how Ismaili teaches that revelation is not direct. This explanation is so fascinating. This put a very unique and important perspective on the role of the prophet. The prophet in this explanation is like a philosopher who have a direct connection and understanding from the divine. This is almost like Islamic version of Buddhist concept of enlightenment and the role of the Buddha.
Any Neoplatonist Muslims here? What do you guys think of theurgy, henads and Proclus in general?
Unfortunately, the error is not in applying neo-platonic thought to Quranic Interpretation, but in attempting Greco-Roman Rationalism to fathom material which is only to be examined intuitively. If I may, for all of his arcane writing, one is much better informed using Al Arabi and the various SUFI traditions to move in the direction these gentlemen purport to go. Neither the Quran, the Tanakh or even the Hindu GITA or Buddhist SUTRAS were ever intended to be examined in terms of rational thought. FWIW.
This guy is selling his minority point of view & already shown fallacies about attributes as different essences. He has an inferiority complex which is apparent in his theology. The guy didn't read a traditional muslim study. Its just going into western philosophy and his secterian dogma he retells as islam. Sunni muslims has deeper and distinct approach. Islam corrects both aristotle's and plato's position in a generic way without even mentioning them or knowing them. This includes all those who follow their conclusions unknowingly or dogmatic positions
Your self-own here is hilarious.

Sunni has understanig that Allah has Body like Human who comes down from 7th heaven to 1st at night and has leg one in hell and the other in heaven which is enough to prove your basic belief based on Shirk and hereticism. For more understanding, watch him debate with Jacke Marcatella A sunni.
May God elevate your intellect and you will embrace Neoplatonism as the true philosophy of religion!
