If not for all the injuries, Sam would be considered one of the best forwards in the world right now.
But if he didnt tackle he wouldnt have injuries....
@@James-st9uu thats true. His hits are so good that you're always got end up with shoulder injuries. Even if hes got boulders for shoulders.
Es un bulldozer, parece Ironman, pero es de carne y hueso. Cuando está sano es uno de los mejores, amén de los sudafricanos
To be fair his injuries while there's been a few aren't the main issue, I think the amount of concussions he has received is more of an issue, forwards get hurt all the time it's part and parcel of the role but after 2019 he picked up more than his fair share of concussions, that said it's great to see him back in an England shirt. Whatever happens in the future one of my best memories of 2019 was the semi against the AB's and his performance.
@@gs8494 him and a lot of other English players, played like men processed in that game. They got hold of the ABs throats in the first 5min and never let go. He was a big part of that win. Ive always looked out for him on the team sheet since.
I like Sam underhill, Never gloats, never gets in peoples face, never gets cocky. Just a machine that likes playing his rugby
Best tackle technique in the game. Don't think I've ever seen him go high or fail to wrap, but he hits his man backwards every time.
He is a Pelvic seeking missile
As a South African, Underhill is one of my fav loose forwards. Such a good tackler with excellent technique.
Gets his head in the right spot; most the time and always wraps
@efalao89 yup! As a kiwi i totally agree with you. Perfect technique and doesn't give a away silly penalty's. NZ has been missing a lose forward like him since likes of Kaino, Mccaw, Read. Id have Underhill in our team over what we got any day.
Parece que fuera sudafricano, ciertamente. Saludos!
It's practically text book, he's been a big miss and it's great to see him back in an England shirt.
@jimbokiwi9322 the odd thing is that at the moment his place is in doubt! There is crazy strength in depth for loosies in England right now.
I remember watching the Eng vs Wal game live thinking that was great try. Then like something out of a cartoon, Underhill performs the single greatest tackle I have ever seen in my life. Behind the man, whilst sliding, he uses the strength of ONE ARM to turn a 110kg man, and take him into touch. Superman truly does live amongst us!!!
95kg man Google Scott Williams
@@alexholden1345and in any case that wouldn't be the power of one arm since he's sliding with all his body onto him
What is amazing about his tackle on Scott Williams, is that at one stage Sam is on his arse on the grass as Wales attack.
@alexholden1345 like 15kg makes all the difference.
@@TheJazz625uh...it does
What a monster. With him, T.Curry, Martin, Chessum, Earl. We are in good hands 🏴
All units everyone of them.
I'm going to say it, the best tackling British forward of all time
Up there with Hill and Back I’d say yes
@@ricky18171 from that era, the best defender was Worsley I'd say
Just the most technical tackler in the game, he hits and he hurts, but I don't think I've ever seen him hit an illegal tackle, always low, always fair, such a joy to watch him on form.
Love watching Underhill smash people. Consistenty shows you can make dominant tackles without needing to risk going high like is often seen!
Sam Underhill from the Lord of The rings, named for a Hobbit, looks like an Orc and is the Wizard Gandalf .....'None Shall Pass!' Really enjoy watching him play glad he's back
Yes - I think it was Anthony Watson who compared him to Azog the Defiler 😆
Sam "The Axeman" Underhill levels them all. I always feel confident when the axeman is playing for England. Bravo sir..! 🎉
We love him at Bath. He has come back from injury as a far more rounded player than before. Clearly used his time out wisely to evolve. Tackles like a young Lawes, his body and legs straight as he hits through you.
His stopping power is just immense. No matter who is running at him. We’ve been lucky in the back and second rows .. Tom Curry, Underhill, Lawes, now Chessum, Martin, Earl.. all dominant hitters.
His semi final performance in 2019 was outstanding
I met Underhill in a cafe in Mallorca. I said hello and got a photo, he was simply down to earth. Nice bloke.
technically beautiful tackler, and always gives 100% to every tackle. Great player!
No bravado, screaming in players faces, just goes about business with excellent timing and technique. He is the epitome of what all English players should aspire for. Great video again! Cheers Fordey.
His technique is so good, hits hard but never high.
Underhill hits hard and fair. Has such beautiful technique. The balance of him with Chessum and Earl is shaping up to be potentially the best back row in world rugby. If Chandler Cunningham South makes a good recovery , there is some real fire power there to bring on when legs get tired
With Ludlum and Curry to come back as well as players like Pearson to be given a chance. We are stacked for the next few years.
@@joefair1137 Everyone is calling for Zach Mercer too. We have an embarrassment of riches in the back row as you say. The thing is some very good players will still miss out due to that very reason . Freddie Steward is an example of this for us at full back . Fitting players into team is difficult
I still think Tom Curry is our best number 6 or 7, but yeah those three worked really well in this year's six nations, so fair play.
@@johnmitchell2269curry 6 underhill 7 earl 8 is Englands best back row in my opinion
@@Newcastle423 Yeah I agree 100%
This video should be shown to every young rugby player in the country, simply the best tackle technique in the game.
Ospreys put their faith in him and he delivered.... amazing to think he wasn't considered good enough by any of the Premiership teams.
I have always considered him to be the best. He folds himself down and really can push through almost anyone. I'm Irish and have watched him close down so many attackers. Huge respect for the man. Kids should have to watch this before learning to tackle.
Jeeeeesus, that try saver toward the start is beautiful to watch. Incredibly executed (as were all of these tackles)
Perfect technique. He must have been carded at some point but I have never seen it. Often making momentum-shifting dominant tackles, and can be game-changing in defence. What a great player - hope he has a good injury-free run.
Deadly technique. Hope he gets his first England try soon, he's had FIVE firsts disallowed 🙃
He scored a try against USA in 2021
When he is fit, he is an absolute handful
From a non England supporter…….this guy is one of the best in the world. He tackles player like they’re a tackle bad in training. You don’t see many people doing that
His ability to go low & drive forwards is phenomenal.
As an Irish fan this guy is one of the best scares me every time he plays against us
Crackin good Vid Lad Well Done! Loved this one.
His tackling remind me of Jacques Berger - hard but fair.
2:24 love that 'HIT!' war-cry from Farrell.
Love Underhill! Got to be the best tackler in the world right now. He's a machine! I remember that All Blacks game, and he destroyed them, especially Mackenzie. Curry is a great player, but I'd pick Underhill every time.
Sam has to be the best legal tackler in the world, he always gets his man and I've never seen him carded for an illegal tackler. One of the world's best No 7
Love these videos mate, great content! Thanks!
Whike saying he's the best tackler we could have if not for the injuries, he certainly has the most solid technique and versatility. The feet positioning, the trunk angle, the driving power. Everything screams tackling dominance. Not to mention that he has a very high work output
Absolutely. Technically beautiful and very, very safe tackle technique. Brilliant to watch.
Great compilation! Thank you.
Je suis français, et j’adore ce joueur !! Pour moi c’est le top One des plaquages offensifs dans le monde. Plaquage parfait dans les règles !!! Il n’y en a plus assez à quinze actuellement !!
what a true hero, body on the line every time
We've missed this boy since the 19 World Cup, but hes come back stronger after horrible injuries that for many players would've retired them. Hed be well on his way to 100 caps if not for injuries. If he can stay fit and we get curry back....the kamikaze kids and ben earl...england have a back row to be reckoned with again.
0:54 I remember that when I was watching this game I turned to my friends and said that someone needs to land a big hit on Aki, then not two minutes later Underhill flattened him.
That’s the best tackle in the video imo. Never seen anyone do that to Aki, stopped the attack dead.
That tackle against Wales sticks in my memory so much. He had no right to stop Scott Williams scoring there
3:31 I can feel the pain.
Shoulders of granite, what a player.
“Jack Nowell looks like he’s hurt his...” “Perenise” Marvellous piece of editing there 🤝
Fantastic video! He rarely gets the credit he deserves. Kids learning rugby need to.watvh this as an example of how to tackle! 👌👌👌👌👌
Great tackle technique!
That's a man who enjoys his work!
Sensational and consistently great technique; low and hard. This fella is in terrific condition. With technique like this he will never receive a yellow for high tackling. Bravo Sam Underhill.
I shouldn't have favourite players but Sam's is it. He cuts good lines as well as folding people.
Hard and Fair. Love it.
If you want to learn how to tackle, this guy is the one to watch. Such a good body position, he just seems so accurate on the hit.
GOAT tackler, almost always a dominant hit, or a chop, and never goes high
4:36 I remember watching that semi thinking the ABs were still very much within reach of a comeback. Then this........ KR's career was shot down and the ABs were smothered. Thunderhill's performance then was monstruous.
As a Welshman, I can’t give this guy enough praise! he’s consistently smashing tackles with almost perfect technique EVERY SINGLE TIME! love watching him play and munching people😂
Goes to show you can tackle low and still monster somebody!
Technique and Timing both excellent.
Lydiate is my favourite tackler of the past 15 years but I've always been a fan of underhill, his work rate is phenomenal.
Never...
That try saving tackle against wales will always be the best one
Damm he lives NZ! Great player. Lovely technique and timing as well
newbie to rugby here! What events/leagues or whatever are a good watch? and where to i watch it? Absolutly loving the highlights!!!
Pride of the USA! Go Sam!
Love Underhill, learned his trade in South Wales, but has just gotten better
I think you could make hours of highlights of his tackles.
Top Bath man !!
His technique is sublime
Proper rugby player
Autumn Nations England 18-7 Ireland Nov 2020. He made one of the biggest hits ever on Irish fullback and nobody talks about it
his technique is insanely good
BEHOLD! The Great White Orc
What a catalogue, just top drawer stuff
the most underrated player in the world (imo)
1:45 no wonder the ref confused Ben Earl for unders the other week, this clip looks identical
Furlong is a big boy but you're just asking for trouble when you run into Sam Underhill and Manu Tuilagi.
Great respect by the English players helping Tadgh back on his feet aswell. Sound out.
He should always start for England when fit. He is a beast when he puts that jersey on.
I genuinely think he if he had had more game time he would be considered one of the GOAT 7s
He's an excellent tackler, probably the best at the minute. Leinster and Ireland's Will Connors not far behind.
That hit on the Wales prop💀
No tattoos , no poseurs haircut - quiet and hard - my kind of rugby player - honest
If you’re knocking the likes of Wiese and Aldritt back you know you’re doing something right! Real shame he’s had so many injuries.
Can you do the same with Anthony jelonch plus it's a other very big tackler
Wow sam is a monster tackler glad hes English 👍🏻
My favourite player in an England shirt at the moment (other than earl)
Englands own Jaques Burger….😊
Whatever he hits, he destroys.
Why he was ever dropped from England I will never know. So glad he’s back, What a player
He was never dropped, just had some nasty injuries and issues with concussion.
Ok, I am bias as I think that Sam Underhill is the ultimate 7... but, all these tackles are impressive... the one on Aldritt, a man who makes at least 5 metres after contact... wow, not only he stops him but backpedals him with the might of 100 horses behind thebgain line and then at least 5 metres. That to me is the statement of a true tackler
Just goes to show what a load of nonsense the complaints from the old guard about,”the game having gone soft” are. Every one of these tackles is totally legal and almost all of them in exactly the same place, around the waist. Not just destructive power and speed but brilliant technique.
I’m glad to see Underhill fit again after so many injuries. At one point, he’d had so many concussions, I thought he’d have to retire, but I was gladly proven wrong! Fabulous player, with a great technique to watch 🏉
It’s a shame that Wales never managed to keep hold of him
An Outsidehalfs Worst nightmare
Text book technique
And to think some people think Robshaw was better 😂
There are only 2 players who I have ever seen hit Furlong and put him on his arse like that. They're both named Sam and both play 7. Go figure.
marcos kremer next!
terminator
He’ll be better playing six than he dosent have to be at every ruck especially the first one that’s where he’s getting injured.
ummmm did someone say Jerry Collings??
I think he's played before.
Came from the school I go to
