In 2021 when they were negotiating undisputed with AJ, Fury started with whole time is ticking stuff and we didn’t get the fight. Then last year when he said he wanted the AJ fight again he did the whole ticking clock thing as well and again we didn’t get the fight. Anyone else seeing a pattern emerge? Whenever he starts with the ⏰ stuff you know he doesn’t want it. Now he’s doing the tick tock, tick tock stuff with Usyk so you can pretty much guarantee this fight is dead in the water.

If you disagree, then by the same logic, you would be the same as those who say women in sport should be paid the same as men without taking into account revenue generated. Accomplishments of course play a part, but you would have to ignore revenue all together to make an argument for any kind of better split.

There's a huge difference between a 50-50 fight and a 50-50 commercial split. What revenue is Usyk bringing to the table bar a sponsorship with Pari Match? How many middle wickets is he going to sell out of the total: 20% max? How much promotional work can he do for the world, not just Ukraine; not a great deal. I really like Usyk, he's a great fighter, has a great character that doesn't really come across with the language barrier etc but it's there and I think he'd be a great challenge for Fury, but, and it's a big but, none of that means he's worth more commercially than his actual worth. Fury brings much, much more to the table and is very much the A-side, and as such should be rewarded with the lion's share of the pie; regardless of fight outcome.
