Dunk your freshly painted nails into ice water. It dries instantly without the chemicals in hairspray that dry your cuticles
If you clean your vacuum, does that make you a vacuum cleaner?
🤣🤣🤣🤣☑
Yes
😂😂😂😂😂👍👍👍👍👍 well said 27.05.2022, 11:44 A.M
Good one
Yeah 😁
Do NOT use red Koolaid in your toilet. It can stain the bowl. Like dumping red wine on white carpet and leaving it.
Ah yeah! Dawn dish soap & water it'll still freeze!
Is that all, it's just stains? Ur acting like it will fk up ur entire toilet
@@lozdogsimo1782 well you might try clorox to get it out! But, good luck with that! As someone with 5 kid's can tell you kool-aid does not come out of carpet! 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
Just buy blue toilet tank cleaner
@@laknicks Lysol works better than Clorox, simple cleaning- koolaid stains every thing 🥴😫
Thanks for the fork tip for hanging pictures, how many times I've struggled. And the graphite tip for locks😀
both of those caught my eye as well! and the grout one as well! Ya gotta be careful tho, I tried one that said to try using turtle wax on grout in the shower to keep it from getting, well, you know. It works but it was really hard to get the colour out!
That fork trick 🤯🤯🤯 The frustration & sore arms I can now avoid from repeated attempts to "catch" the frame on the hook, sing hallelujah 🙌
that tip is older than I am , just like all of these

I have tried out the toilet bowl cleaner on cleaning the grout and it does work. I also used it on the shower walls. I had great tenants so ckeaning was not a huge issue since they were very clean. I had a house that I rented out to a family of 4. They lived there for 18yrs and I can honestly say that I never had a problem with their rent. The man was always on time with the rent. His wife took good care of the house and property. They moved out when they bought a house. I was heartbroken to see them go but happy for them. I know not every person that rents out property gets good tenants. I was lucky. I now rent that same house to an elderly couple and one pet. It's very sad when some renters who destroy property by not cleaning and adding junk around the outside or inside the property really mess it up for other people. All I can say to property owners who rent is to be on your toes and always check your properties. It's your most valued investment.
My parents house was rented to a couple who destroyed the house. Literally destroyed. Had animals, dogs, cats, a pig, living inside. It took 5- 20ft dumpsters to clean out the mess. They destroyed every bathroom. Every wall. Every light fixture. Every wall.

You know when it comes to vacuums we really should raise our voices and ask these companies to make all removable rollers so that we not only can take the hairs off or whatever but wash them for crying out loud! Who wants to go over a rug that they maybe have shampooed or even a floor that they mopped with the same dirt y germ infested brush roll? What's up with all these companies that make these vacuumes ? ? ? ALL VACUUMS SHOULD COME WITH REMOVABLE AND I MEAN EASILY REMOVABLE BRUSH ROLLS !
Time to write emails, or on their websites. I agree. My hair is long and fine and is an absolute nightmare to get out of the brush roller. It's way worse than the cat fur or even threads.
Amen! But I see the number of vaccuums people put out to the curb on garbage day, and I remember why they don't.
My shark roller is easily removed so I can wash and clean the roller
AGREED
All the Dyson vacuums I’ve owned have removable rollers (I’ve only really used Dyson, so I’m not sure if the others do).
I love cleaning hacks, I saw a couple on here that I didn’t know about and several I had forgotten. Thanks for sharing. Janice, Tn
I always read the comments too so I can see what people add!
Kitty litter cleans grout extremely well too. Simply sprinkle and sweep it across the grout.
Remember that to disinfect with alcohol it must be 70% or higher… also it needs to dry on its own so don’t wipe the surface dry or you have simply cleaned it not disinfected it.
Yes! Dwell time! The disinfectant needs time to infiltrate the cell membranes of the little microscopic nasties with which we reluctantly co-exist. The disinfectant makes its way through the other organelles, destroying them, and to the nucleus where the DNA resides. Bye-bye nasty!
Higher than 70% dries too fast to disinfect.
My two biochemist friends say 64% to 70%. Google it. 👍
What Bridgette said...
I remember using 70% ethanol to spray down lab and equipment and let it air dry when I used to work in microbiology/biochem lab
For the air freshener, I've always poured fabric softener with a little bit of water to dilute it and it smells amazing!
I've done that to and it did smell incredible but it always left a sticky residue 😔
Plus do you really want to breathe in aerosolized fabric softener??
Remember, that if you use Dawn to remove stains, lower the amount of laundry soap you use.
Or rinse in the sink after. Before you wash. If you are using regular powdered laundry soaps you can make a paste with water put area of clothing to be soaked in to a bowl and pour the paste and let sit over night wash the next day. Don't dry clothes that have a stain until you check to see it the stain is gone. Use Vinegar in your towels instead of fabric softener. You can even pour some on a clean wash cloth and use it like a dryer sheet. Just keep using the same wash cloth. I have white ones just for that. Colored ones for washing you. Also keeps your washer and dryer from smelling stinky.
I think the rubber glove would work to remove pet hair from fabric without using the stick hairspray - I wouldn't want the residue on the textiles. I wonder if silver polish would be safer for your silverware over the long run. Hairspray also works well on ink-stained fabric, especially if treated quickly and before washing the garment. Magic erasers are also great for removing marks from painted surfaces.
I have always used hairspray for ink stains and you're right about Magic Erasers working on markers!
Lots of stuff is good for cleaning silver and brass. VO5 is one silver cleaner and the pamphlet inside tells all the other uses for VO5. Using Dawn dish detergent, a copper brush cleans brass without leaving scratch marks. The brass ashtrays I have come out beautifully. Been using hair spray for ink stains on mens' shirts, etc., for over 40 years!
Very useful hacks. My vacuum gets tons of hair caught because of our long hair. I use a seam ripper to cut the hairs off the rollers. It cuts tough the hairs easier.
very good idea! thank you!
awesome idea!!!
Great idea I'm going to try that
I thought I was the only nut case doing this with a seam ripper. Thanks for validation that at least I wasn’t the only one.
What do you do for that
WARNING: Always protect the surface your working on. Alcohol will leave a white spot on varnish, it is flammable and it may damage certain surfaces such as delicate fabrics.. It is always a good idea to test in a inconspicuous spot first. : D
Be very careful using alcohol on computer screens. Most manufacturers do not recommend. perhaps a diluted method.
The costume departments in theatre productions use vodka spray between dry cleanings. Different kind of alcohol, so perhaps it's safer.
@@jhutch1681 INTERESTING
Hairspray will also take ink out. Great video ~ Thank you!
Thank you, Facebook! Never too old, or too late, for this senior to learn something new. Yo!
Hey, here's a toilet "tip" that might help some people. If you have a toilet/toilet tank that won't stop "sweating" (regardless if the tank is insulated or not) you can get an anti-sweat valve from your local hardware/plumbing store. It has a hot and a cold inlet and a mixed outlet. The temperature of the water can be adjusted, so you don't melt your wax seal.
Thanks. So many cleaning tips!
FYI, for crayon you can also use a hair dryer to melt the crayon and then wipe it away.
That's a great idea
Use a warmish iron to pull crayon out of fabric. Place a piece of brown paper sack under fabric and between fabric and iron. It pulls the wax from the fabric into the aper sack.
WD-49 takes crayon stains out of carpets.
@@Lynn.Panadero4242 oh boy I used this method for wax on berber carpet 22 years ago. I had remembered hearing something to that effect.. panicking I rushed had to fast parent was coming home lol long story short I burned the carpet (also used a towel vs paper bag🤦♀️
@@Lynn.Panadero4242 same thing if u spill candle wax!
DONT PUT DISH SOAP IN YOUR WASHING MACHINE! Rinse it first or you will have suds foaming out the front! There is a good reason the soap for your machines is a low foam soap. A much better way to disinfect your pillows (especially old foam chip ones) is to sew them into new pillow cases and then toss them into the dryer with a scent you like in whatever form you prefer on a high heat for a short period of time ( 10 minutes MAX!). All bacteria and mites etc will be dead. Then hang them outside in the sun for and hour and fluff and beat so the dust and hair etc. will come out. BOOM, like new! Dont use toothpaste on your silver as the toothpaste is actually taking silver OFF!!
I can absolutely confirm not putting laundry soap in the dishwasher. About 25 years ago, my first date with who would be my husband, I invited him to my place for dinner. I ran out of dishwasher soap and had to run it so 19 year old me thought I had a brilliant idea. Oh my, I went to the store to grab a few things for spaghetti ( I should have bought dish soap instead lol) and came home to a very tiny kitchen filled with suds. I was still cleaning when he showed up. It has given us quite a few laughs, and a good lesson over the last 25 years 😂
I just realized you said washing machine not dishwasher. Oh well, now you know not to do it in a dishwasher too! Lmao😊
I’ve always put a dime size or less of baking soda in my boys shoes. Takes the smell right out! And keeps it good for a week or so. I didn’t know toothpaste had so many uses! The only thing I’d use toothpaste for was if I got a pimple. I tried everything u can think of to help with my pimples. The only thing that worked was dabbing a tiny bit of toothpaste on it after a shower. It burned but it was always gone the next day! Thanks for the tips!
I had renters that had never cleaned anything for five years. I honestly didn’t know if cleaning it was even possible, gasoline and matches seemed more realistic. One of the cleaning hacks that I did have huge success with was using toilet cleaner on the grout between the ceramic tiles in the bathrooms. The results were amazing and the bathroom floors honestly looked brand new. (The carpet and kitchen floors didn’t fare as well and had to be replaced. I will NEVER rent again!)
Toothpaste works well too
Not everyone is like your prior renters! Sometimes people who need an opportunity can not due to someone else messing up before them.
I had renters too . ms Michelle in my Dad’s house after he passed away and at my grandmothers house too . You are one hundred and ten percent right . My niece lives in My Dads Now , I will sell before I ever Rent too . I sold my Grandmothers house after 10yrs of renters . I won’t go into detail but They wreaked the house Every time and often “ disappeared in the night and used the spare room as a human toilet literally .
@@adnel4142 ... very well said!
I hear that.
It kinda scary somewhat that toothpaste is such a fantastic cleanering and bleaching agent 😅
True. What is in there and we are supposed to put it in our mouths? Just like Coca Cola which can clean a toilet bowl and tenderise meat yet billions guzzle it down daily. Amazing!
It's also good to cool insect bites!
@@janetmackinnon3411 That, and cold cream.
The best toilet bowl cleaner to use is Lysol 10 times stronger. Make sure you read the front of it. Don't get the regular brand get the 10 times stronger. It cleans sinks and bathtubs and it's great for the inside of the stainless steel sinks. It gets rid of water stains on porcelain and stainless steel. I'm a housekeeper for the last 18 years
Perhaps you might consider switching to products not harmful to the earth?…..please😌
Where do you buy 10x stronger Lysol??

Sounds like you're getting paid.
Similar to the grout trick in the video, if you don't have the gel cleaner, I had a friend teach me to line the grout with bleach ( & water) soaked paper towels and just let them sit there and allow the bleach to do it's thing. Come back to it and brush it clean as he did in the video.
You need to seal it after cleaning. The bleach will eat the grout after a few treatments if not sealed.
@@toughtimes6596 that's good advice. I never thought about that. I'd imagine that would be the same then for a gel bleach as suggested in the video?
@@yvonnepalmquist8676 Yes indeed. And once sealed, the dirt can't settled into the grout as quickly and it's easier to keep clean. Btw, I learned the hard way and ended up having to regrout my kitchen floor lol. Not fun when you have bad knees and back 😂
Is it ok to use that much bleach in an enclosed space?
@@ginawussow9621 Not really. The person I know who did this would turn on vent and fan it, and walk away. The bleach would be diluted.
Thank you, many useful tips, thanks for sharing!!
The best trick for getting deodorant off your clothes is by rubbing with dry pantyhose or knee-hi’s. It doesn’t stretch the area out, doesn’t leave any fiber transfer like with a cloth, and takes only seconds. Thank you for the rest of the tips! I just made the essential oil spray.
good afternoon Amy. how are you doing, hope you are having a great day.
Best trick I ever learned is 100% fool-proof! Rub the deo marks with the same piece of fabric/clothing and it will disappear.
When I was growing up in the 70's (yep I'm that old) my younger sister ad cousin decided to make the paneling in the bathroom into a canvass. I didn't want my Ma to see it when she got home so I literally tried everything in the cabinet to try and get it off, the toothpaste did the trick. My daughter loses hair at a stupid level I honestly don't know why she isn't bald, I've been taking the scissors and tweezers after my vacuum roller for years. The tweezers help get things out of the very end where your scissors won't reach.
Someone up further mentioned *a stitch ripper* (a sewing notion that often comes with sewing items like scissors and thread, and thimbles) in craft/sewing stores. I'm going to try that. Tweezers are a great idea for getting a hold of those pesky bits.
@@Kayenne54 seam ripper cleans the vacumn roller great and easily.
I buy cheap toothpaste at the dollar store for so many uses around the house! Ironically I DONT USE IT ON MY TEETH! I havent used it on my teeth for about 5 years now on the advice from a dentist! I also havent had my teeth cleaned for almost 10 years! My teeth have been extremely sensitive ever since a bad dentist ground my teeth to try to make them fit together better and I lost so much enamel. Soooo I stopped eating all nuts and nut butters and brushing with toothpaste and having my teeth cleaned and boy has it made a big difference! I now use toothpaste only to clean my sinks and stove etc! hahaha

8:07 so the ink doesn't bleed through after the alcohol treatment, put some folded up paper or a plastic zip lock bag between the layers...Remove before washing, obviously. Blotter paper would work even better but I don't think you can get it anymore...

Who knew toothpaste could do so much!
I wish toothpaste would work that good on your teeth!
Congratulations on the success of your channel, these are the kind of videos that have mass appeal. So many uses for toothpaste, it’s also great for cleaning headlights.

Blood on clothes ... hydrogen peroxide will foam up the blood, making it much lighter. Try it again ... and then throw it in the washing machine. Works every time.
Your own spit will lighten and remove a blood stain if: 1. it's your own blood and 2. it's a small amount. The enzymes in your spit breaks down the blood.
Rinsing clothes in cold water will remove fresh blood stains ... but i haven't found ANYTHING that will effectively completely remove old dried up blood stains.
Never seen the ice trick before on the carpet!
That fork trick hanging a picture 😀‼️
Use a seam ripper on your vacuum roller it works better than scissors
FYI rubbing alcohol doesn't work for certain genetic profiles... white vinegar works for O and A blood types. B and AB alcohol and non caffeine used tea bags work too. Different blood types have different pH norms.
Never thought of that wow ty
Great ideas thanks for sharing 😁🌹
Thanks for the cleaning hacks.
Thank you! Very helpful
If your cat has too much loose hair, simply coat the cat in varnish or nail polish and allow to set. Now your cat has a nice hard outer coating, like a Smartie! Once a year, just cut the fur under the crunchy coating, and remove the outer shell. Set aside the coating to be used as a nice cat planter. Re-coat your cat, and never be bothered again with floating cat fluff throughout the home. Try this out on a neighbour’s cat first, to see how well it works for you. Have fun. Please always keep a sense of humour close by, as this will come in handy.
Or…..don’t have a cat.
Lol
Wow, thanks!

The grout cleaner is truly amazing. I just did my whole house
You just did a very costly and expensive thing to your tile grout. Your house now will have to be re grouted as the toilet bowl cleaner softened and erodes all your grout. Sorry!
I used blue green toilet bleach & it kinda gave the grout a tint but it looks so much better! & the grout is fine.
@@tonyr8443 True .. I've tried this on our kitchen floor grout (Soft Scrub with bleach and a toothbrush). Hours wasted and the grout didn't stay white for long. And now I find out it can erode my grout too? Ughhh Calgon, take me away! Lol
Very very helpful. Thanks and please post more videos.
Excellent explanation. Thank you
Hairspray works on ink stains on clothing too!
A good tips and tricks. I will try them for sure. Tanks,
Fantastic tips 👌 👏 👍 Thankyou
Helpful tips!
Please don't use caustic toilet bowl cleaner on grout. There are literally warnings on the packaging.
good to know! Any ideas on what to use instead?
Plain bleach does the trick. You can dilute with water
If you can afford it, call the carpet cleaning professionals or go rent the machine at Lowe’s or Home Depot and clean your tile floors just as you would your carpet! Or do your carpet and your tile floors too!😊. Anyway, your grout will come out looking like new again and your floors will be super clean!!! More bang for your buck‼️💲
A piece of felt that goes under a chair door? I think you mean a chair leg... 🤣 You also don't need to spray hairspray on a glove to remove pet hair from fabric or furniture. All that does is smear sticky hairspray everywhere... Just use plain water and it works just as well. I usually don't even wet the glove, any of those "yellow" gloves work fine dry. Put a towel between the layers of a t-shirt before you spray or rub anything into a stain, otherwise you're just rubbing the stain from one side of the shirt to the other. Don't use toothpaste on good silver - you could clearly see all of the scratches in that pan left from the toothpaste. Quit being cheap and go buy some silver cleaner, it's not expensive.
Amen!
Awesome tips😎🤩🥳thank you!
Just a tip dont use coloured dishsoap as stainremover on white clothes.. use colourfree dishsoap.. otherwise the soapcolour might make a new stain.
Hand cream on a key, slide in and out the lock a few times, good as new.
My 2 favorite bathroom cleaning hacks...shaving cream will get rid of urine smells around the base of the toilet and blue Dawn and a clean broom are fantastic for cleaning a fiberglass tub if you can't get on your knees to scrub (rinse thoroughly)
If toothpaste cleans all that. Can only imagine what it does to teeth!
The Dawn Power wash is great for stains! Rubber gloves alone will remove pet hair. Instead of toothpaste, use a baking soda paste for most of what you use the toothpaste for. I don't mean to critique this video, but its all common sense which, I know is very much lacking these days. Sometimes I get a lot from watching these, sometimes not. Blessings to all 🥰
Though I swear by Dawn Spray, Awesome cleaner or just bleach, I cleaned the tub for an elderly man who hadn't done so in years. I was prepared to scrape soap scum with a straight razor but was pleasantly surprised by this hack- The Works toilet rim cleaning gel for hard water deposits. It started foaming & dissolving build up instantly! It even took off rust stains. The only thing is that it turns the silver drain to a shade of pewter, which honestly looked less cheap if you ask me. For super tough jobs like a Sharpie marker on a toy doll I use carburator cleaner, just patch test first.
I have always been told to take a dry erase marker and go over the sharpie marks and it will remove the ink when wiped away. Give it a try. I e done it on hard surfaces, but not on fabrics.
Thank you !!! Panty hose work excellent on deodorant marks on clothing too . I loves these treasures
That's true!!!😉
You guys have the best ideas!
Thanks for sharing 👍
About the air freshener: The alcohol you're spraying around there makes everything you spray highly flamable
I knew most of these, but there were a few new ones that I might use. Thanks !

Me 2!!😊
A clean dishwashing glove is all you need., Hairspray is not necessary. Once you feel the glove begins to maybe get a little Dusty., Just rinse the glove underwater., dry it so it'll get that tacky & rubbery feel again and continue on.
I saw a cleaning hint elsewhere that suggested using a squeegee that has that plastic or rubber edge (to clean off windows or glass). It works very well on short pile items, as long as you can maintain a certain fabric tension as you drag it across. I've used it very successfully on carpet and rugs to lift up and kind of "roll up" animal fur.
Wont rinsing all that hair & dust down the drain cause clogs??
@@briannab5296 You could always wipe off the glove with a brush into the rubbish bin. That's what I did with the squeegee method, or just collected it up and threw it into the bin; or used the dustpan and brush if there was a little pile of it. One of my sinks has a plug drainer. So not too much would go down anyway if I did the rinse method.
@@briannab5296 The thing is you don't rinse the hair on the gloves down the drain.... What I do is rub the gloves together until the hairs becomes a little ball and it all comes together ( it gets a little static after doing that but you figure out a good way to get it off like using a small piece of paper to pick off the gloves., After that I use a lint roller to pick up the rest of the little hairs on the gloves and after that.., thats when you rinse off the rest of the little left behind small particles of dust and get it tacky again., Whala ! Maybe I'll make a video.
Excellent information …ty

@susanmetz9 So lol btw..I didn't didn't to sound crude (for lack of better termsl they "cook" in med/ hot water and sets the stain in. (What color are your sheets?)
Good tips. I learned the ice pack hack when my kids were younger & still keep a few prepped in the freezer. A jeweler taught me the toothpaste trick years ago & it really does work.
The toothpaste tricks works best when it's more baking soda based rather than the smooth more gel like kind.
@@wiseforce7045 Yes, paste rather than gel. Also, if you want to clean copper (like copper based pans etc.) and make it look like new, Worcestershire sauce does a great job. Depending on the item and area, swish it over or gently soak. Wash off carefully afterwards and rinse clean of course.
