My brother, when he was 16, was going to lagoon with his two best friends and he was playing this song in the bus. He said that he would like this song to be played on his funeral one day. The same day, few hours later, he tragically drowned in the lagoon. The song was played on his funeral, like he wished to (unconsciously not knowing what was going to happen...). He was a very big fan of Depeche Mode and we buried him with an album of them and his headphones too. It was in August last year. We will never forget him and this song will be always with us, for the rest of our lives. For us, the lyrics are definitely not about drugs - they are about that one day and his feelings....

@dm341 Жыл бұрын

It’s amazing. I was born in the summer of ‘77 so I grew up during the decades that ushered in tons of original, timeless classics and I am so happy that the youth of today are getting exposed to such a variety of classics; I always despair at the predictable unoriginal songs produced today en mass, tainting your ears - not a lot to choose from nowadays in my opinion, so may the exposure of old songs in hit TV shows continue. I get goosebumps when I hear these classics because it still feels like yesterday not decades ago.

Aquellos que vieron la serie The Last of Us y se quedaron maravillados con esta canción, bienvenidos sean a la familia de devotos a Depeche Mode
Joder muchas gracias!!!

I'm 27. I can say I had the exact same reaction. Huge fan of TLOU and Depeche Mode
I’m 48 I feel old 😆
41 here .. I screamed and sang along lol 😆
43 here. TLOU was one of my fav games of all time. When the show came out I was skeptical but wow. And the song at the end of episode 1.... WOW!!
same for me! and i love this song so much that i had it as a ringtone on my phone in the past.. :D
I fully discovered this band in 2017 in my mid 20's and Depeche just have it all. The desire, the haunting, the grit, the pain, the lust, the love. What I love is that dave made it through the worst times
This reminds me of an Ottawa born pianist and a venue that enjoys playing this song while i work my life away 🖤 great song. I approve
Well im a 64 year old grandfather of 6 and im still listening!!Lucky to see them at the 02 arena some years back. They are an exceptional live act

Super Musik, zeitlos, ein Kunstwerk, unschlagbar.l❤❤🎉🎉
Amazing how a show can literally put a band into the mind of generations that would never otherwise heard them
I discovered them after a band i like did a cover of waiting for the night. Then I heard them at the end of Last of Us. Definitely gonna check out more!
You think our generation has never heard of depeche mode? 💀
@@marissaburdock6550 I can only generalise. No idea what you generation is btw

It is crazy, I think with Stranger Things and Kate bush was the most ridiculous. Pushing her to number 1 in the summer of 2022, when she never had that when the song came out.
I'm 50 now, I bought this album when I was 16 in 1987, this song moved me back then & still does today. It's a master piece and I plan on seeing them in concert if we can ever get thru Covid.
Lucky you! Where are they performing?
I saw them in Hannover in 1990, I still have and wear the tour T-shirt, though it is in as bad a state now as I am.
DK-Valby 1986, I was 16 and in love...still am...
Right there with you, I was 14 when I bought it. It has always been a dream of mine to see them live, if possible I will soon. They still are my absolute favourite band of all time.
Takes me back cruising and drinking with my best friends. Now, my nephews are listening to my CDs and loving this music. Music for all generations. 😊
There is something so special, deep, and gorgeous about DM sound that is just mesmerizing. Everything connects. The sound, the lyrics, the aesthethic, the atmosphere they create. One of the best bands that have existed.
My big brother got me into Depeche Mode in the late 80s/early 90s when I was 11/12, and I've loved them ever since. Especially after my brother died by suicide, I'd listen to anything I could to feel like he was still alive. 💔
❤️
Feel your pain; I lost mine too...we live to honor them. x
Omg... 😢. Send a big hug
💔 my condolences, may he have found the peace his tortured soul was feeling😔🙏

When they write “Dm me” on instagram I always think “depeche mode me” 😂

And here I thought it was just me. (Born in 71)
A song that openly deals with drug addictions, with an unusual musical crescendo. Musical work of art that should be named a world heritage site

The more I listen to Depeche Mode the more I love it. Greetings from Hamburg to all Depeche Mode fans
Hello from Martin county Florida my friend
This song on car trips is great, long live the 80s!!!!
I remember my dad used to listen on the radio
i really love how this comment section isnt people gatekeeping 80s music because it got popular from a show but a ton of people welcoming new fans and talking about how they love the song
I get goosebumps when I hear these classics because it still feels like yesterday not decades ago.
exactly how it should be! art is what connects us.
It's because we will fade away. Many of lust lost loved ones that used to enjoy similar songs with and we want future generations to have access to this kind of stuff. It was ahead of its time when it first came out and it still sounds fresh today.
Shouldn’t matter how or when you discovered the songs, just that you enjoy them. 😊 Love Depeche Mode, they have a new album dropping next month too!
Fr. Always thought it was weird that people had to feel superior over knowing something first and gatekeeping songs. So happy this is a positive comment section.
