Sayani, um condor andino, que foi encontrado incapaz de voar em 2012 pela polícia em Catamarca. Foi tratado no Zoológico de Buenos Aires, como parte do Projeto de Conservação do Condor andino. E liberado na encosta de Portezuelo , na Serra de Ancasti em Catamarca. De acordo com os exames de saúde que foram feitos, Sayani estava sofrendo de desidratação e baixo peso, presumivelmente devido a envenenamento.

Our feathered brother was such a gentleman……..he gave us time to look at him, he made various poses in order for us to take photos, he fluffed his feathers, checked the wind direction, and when he was satisfied that all concerns were taken care of, he graciously took off……..well done, Warrior! When I was living near the California coast, in San Benito county. I saw a condor next to our house. I had never seen one before I had to look at it a couple times to realize that's a condor it spread its wings and majestically sailed away. I'll bet the wingspan was at least 9 or 10 feet. Absolutely gorgeous I will never forget that moment

A moment one never forgets. I had the privilege of rehabilitating and releasing hundreds of poisoned African vultures and when the birds take flight it is like the angels start singing. Bravo to those who released that amazing Andean condor. It is a creature of exceptional grace and beauty.
