As a laptop gamer I’ve encountered almost none of these accept the upgradability wich really isn’t an issue cuz it works fine and I wouldn’t have budget for new parts in a desktop anyway, laptops are slightly more expensive but a little research can close the price gap substantially and I can take it anywhere with ease
I agree. It's all just a matter of finding out what laptop suits your gaming desires.
The problem is when something breaks - for example RAM memory. And since many Laptop producers have a nasty habbit of soldering components that can be hard to fix.
@@tomaszzalewski4541A lot of laptops have detachable ram cards, and even then most technology is forged into one piece like phones and consoles.

I've been gaming on a laptop for the last 5 years. I've never once seen any thermal throttling.
What brand you're laptop ?
@@saiko9472 Had an Omen 15 from 2016, just upgraded to a Gigabyte A7 X1. My new laptop has a Ryzen 9 5900 and an RTX 3070 and same thing. Has never gotten anywhere close to hot enough to effect performance and I've been playing games with raytracing all week.
@@twohorsesinamancostume7606 Yeah and how mich was that laptop? I guess about 4000 € ?
@@xenos321s6 Nope. My first one was a little over $1k. The new one I got was a little over $2k. Technology is more advanced than you guys think. If you keep your vents clear then modern laptops don't overheat.
@@twohorsesinamancostume7606 Yeah overheating is normaly not the problem but Laptops get definitely louder than good cases with nice airflow. Also changing thermalpaste in Laptops is relatively easy too. But in my opinion the price performance difference is too big so in my case ( i built my pc nearly 2 years ago) i got a pretty decent midrange pc for 700 € wich can still run all games 1080p highest settings well over 100 fps and at that time a comparable Laptop would have been well over 2000 € and would only have something like a 1660 ti and some six core in it. You can upgrade storage and RAM in laptops a lot of the time. Also, now that GPU prices are just insane and SSD is bound to go up too, laptops are kind of our savior as long as you’re willing to stick with what you bought for as long as you need it. edit: this comment was posted a YEAR ago during the gpu crisis, so it's outdated. laptops are always a good option if you need portability, but if you want to build a desktop then absolutely go for it. gpu's are even cheaper than their msrp's right now!

Well I think depending on your situation it could go both ways. If your on the move a lot the the laptop would probably be best however if you only really go places close to home or where ever your pc is set up that option is the way to go. I think personally that you should get the one that suit’s best for the side you lean toward the most and then after save up for the other so in both situations you can still play or do whatever you need a computer for.
Yep, I'm going for a small form factor desktop next time around - I have the peripherals already, so if I can stuff the NR200P case and wireless mouse, headset and a tenkeyless keyboard into a big bag, I can hope my destination has a spare monitor. Air cooled to avoid gunk building up in the radiator/pump means it will be hotter than big desktops and more expensive, but not hot like a laptop and I can still upgrade the graphics card or other hardware. DDR5 is just around the corner with Zen 4 and Intel Raptor Lake this coming Christmas season, too.
4:49 when the stickman died laughing at that BFDI mouth
If your laptop gets hot, I recommend buying a fan cooler. I have one and it doesn't get hot as often as it used to.
i own both, a gaming laptop and now recently i got a gaming desktop. I can tell you that it does not matter, only the small things, for overheating stuff, just let the laptop sit on a cooling pad and make sure it has good airflow, and if you don't always upgrade, then laptops are your friend, you can upgrade some parts of your laptop like storage, ram and in some laptops cooling systems. for desktops yes the cost are much hidden, because you never account the things that aren't in the case, like monitor, mouse, and or keyboards. In my opionon desktops are far more powerful becuase there is more flexablity towards the parts.

I don't have much space in my room for a full pc setup so I have a gaming laptop (HP Victus), when I first got it I upgraded the RAM to 16 GB at best buy, I recently upgraded the SSD to 1 TB. Since I'm a huge Valorant fan, play Genshin Impact and many others, I bought a cooling pad for my laptop on Amazon for just $21.99 good deal because it's also a stand as well. I have a Razer headset and wireless Razer mouse with a mousepad.
