  • Thanks again for the great live unboxing as usual!!!

  • it will be really great if you add to your reviews a section, where you test laptops for Linux support, to make sure all features are available and there's no overheating or driver problems. Very useful for professionals who use Linux. Regards

  • Do you like OLEDs more or miniLEDs for laptop screens?

    @vzuzukin@vzuzukin9 ай бұрын
  • I've had this exact laptop for almost a week now. Here are some of my thoughts for anyone thinking of buying one. pros are amazing performance for the size, the screen is wonderful, I absolutely love the keyboard and it's generally quite. My personal cons are I wish it was a bit slimmer, fans are noticeably high pitched when running at slow speeds but that's not a problem while there running at full speed and the trackpad is huge but the click kinda feels cheap to me. Battery life isn't great either(5 hours at best for my use)but I expected that. My dream laptop would be as slim as possible and have a haptic touchpad but most importantly is the CPU performance (I don't really care about gpu). I already tried the non pro slim 9i from last year with the i7 1280p but the CPU would slow down a bit if I had too many things going at once. I will likely keep this because I don't know if any better options but If anyone has any other recommendations I would appreciate it.

  • Would you say the lackluster multi core performance from the slim pro 7 will be fixed with the newly available zen 4 Ryzen 7 7840HS version? Considering that vs the slim pro 9i but am concerned about the 9is lackluster battery life.(engineering student). On paper looks like it could actually be a more powerful chip than the 13705H in the 9i’s 14.5” model all while being $400 cheaper.

Also, it doesn't cost that much to go from 16 to 32, it's like couch money.

  • Could you do the sound tests without dolby atmos? dolby is basically equalizer with pimped up frequencies that makes an illusion of better sound if played on lower quality speakers (like laptop speakers). To see how the speaker really plays you need to turn it off. Someone may say that they doesn't care if the end result is fine but once you connect high quality earphones/headphones you will be able to hear unpleasant distortions caused by pimped up frequencies. Also when you install linux you have no dolby atmos so for linux users sound tests with dolby atmos are useless.

    @tttyyy949@tttyyy9499 ай бұрын
    • Depending on how it’s implemented, it shouldn’t affect the audio on headphones because it’s tuned for the speakers. This could be and probably is user error in modifying virtual surround on the laptop when switching listening medium.

      @neil_surya@neil_surya9 ай бұрын
    • @@neil_surya If you have turned on dolby atmos while having headphones on you still hear their effects. You either need to turn it off or if it exists search for the setting to apply the effect only on speakers (i don't know if it's there as I don't use dolby atmos anymore). Maybe it's fixed by now. However if you can set it off for other devices it doesn't change a thing. It's still bad speakers masked by pimping up frequencies. You can download foobar or other music player and play with settings and frequencies for similar effect. That shouldn't count for speaker quality. If I would give you trash speakers and you didn't like it and I would say to you just download equalizer and pimp up some bass and higher frequencies... you would call me crazy. But that's what dolby atmos does.
