  • Good video, but I wanted to point something out that you may not be aware of. Your hanging scale changed from lbs to kgs when you tested the Easy Sands w/ Fibafuse, and stayed that way for the rest of the video. That drastically changes some of the results.

    • Thank you so much for pointing this out and I didn’t catch this! No worries, just convert the kgs to lbs. ( 1 KGS = 2.20462 LBS ) . Thank you so much for catching this and I’m truly sorry! 🙏🏽😅

  • The comment by @meljenkins1016 (below) is absolutely the best answer. You should never expect drywall to support more than one or two pounds of weight. Drywall is not designed to support any substantial weight. It will crumble and fall apart. You should find a wall stud and put a two-inch wood screw into it to support any more than 2 pounds weight. That said, I would use a toggle screw to replace a loose drywall anchor.

  • Great video. Like you said some of these will be a lot easier than others to sand. And also paint over - I’m guessing stuff like jb weld won’t be easy to paint. So in many cases a less strong solution that’s easier to finish will be a better option … depending on what you need to fix!

  • I used the Wet N Fix. Worked like a charm. Needed on a four 3-hole brackets to mount a heavy automated window blind. Every anchor securely attached to the drywall Easy set up, clean up and quick. No sanding necessary. Ordered off of Amazon as I couldn't locate this product in any nearby stores. Great advice!!

  • One mistake, half way through on the Easysand5/FibaFuse, your scale switched to KG instead of LBS, so i would take all the results after and just double to get close to LBS, so some of those where actually fairly strong.

  • Wingits are an overkill but will supposedly hold up to 300 lbs. The downside is the hole has to be enlarged to about 3/4 inch diameter. I use them for handrail mounts when there is no stud available in the right place.

  • Which position was the toggle bolt on the back? At 12 & 6 or 9 & 3? Could’ve made a difference since the hole was bigger at the 6 o’clock position. I used them to fix a hole in my closet where anchors failed & I positioned it at 9 & 3 and there’s at least 15 lbs on the shelf & a rod with clothes hanging 4ft wide & hasn’t budged.

  • Togglebolts work well, but you are correct. The bolt ends up cutting through the gypsum. The SOLUTION to this is using something like a short sleeve on the bolt, even a piece of plastic straw will work. I have used a cut piece of plastic pen and the result was an extremely strong wall anchor. But, as was said before, drywall is not designed for holding heavy loads; however, if thr ENTIRE piece of drywall and the paper backing is intact, then you have some strength. Best bet is tapping into studs, OR inserting a stud (cut hole into drywall, insert the wood, drill into it for holding into place, repair the wall). All depends of what is needed re: the wall anchor.

  • Seriously folks, you have to understand that drywalls are made from Gypsum. Gypsum is a soft sulfate mineral. Applying all types of hardeners around those blue plastic grips helps stabilize it in place. However, beyond those hardeners is Gypsum which is soft and still will not hold it in place. I have a bathroom cabinet sink. I used butterfly bolts to hold it in place. It held pretty good, but in time constantly leaning on the sink caused the Gypsum around the butterfly bolts to become loose and the cabinet sink started to come loose from the wall. The best way is literally drill the screw straight into the wall stud. This is the procedure they use to mount supports to hold your 55 inch flat screen TV on the wall.

    @meljenkins1016@meljenkins1016 Жыл бұрын
    • @meljenkins1016 - Yours is absolutely the best answer. If you are trying to support more than one or two pounds of weight, you'd best find a wall stud and put a two-inch wood screw directly into the stud. Gypsum dry-wall is NOT designed to support any substantial weight.

  • I bought a bunch of those drywall anchors featured at 1:20 seconds into the video and they absolutely suck. The lip on the outer front are smaller in diameter than the middle portion thats designed to split open on the back end. The end result is an anchor that slips all the way through the wall once the whole is wide enough to get it into the wall in the first place. Absolutely awful product.

    @policani@policani Жыл бұрын
    • Customarily one would install some sort of face plate/cover/whatever-you-are-mounting on the front side of the drywall. That also distributes the stress more broadly than a screw head.

  • I need to find way to stop drop-in anchors from spinning inside soft concrete wall. Used JB weld and it failed (spun). Next attempt will be to soak hole with adhesion promoter spray with hopes it will ooze into surrounding soft concrete and harden it (make it less crumbly. Then JB weld. Admittedly using cheap shit Chinese made drop in anchors that are too smooth and promote spinning. But alas all available drop ins are all Chinese junk. Grrr

    @amcra4science@amcra4science3 ай бұрын
    • Try lead masonry anchors (which are zink-plated). When you tap them in they conform to the hole (which will not be perfectly round and smooth).
