      @lotusinn3@lotusinn34 жыл бұрын
    • @@lotusinn3 Where I was stationed, in my particular squadron, an airman's opinion accounts for crap. When they want to know how you feel about a certain thing, they will tell you. The military wouldn't work if every Joe thought their opinion of how to approach a mission mattered. And they drill that into your skull from day one. When I got out of the military and started working a customer service job, I saw how irate people always got what they wanted. That just blew my mind.

      @pixpusha@pixpusha4 жыл бұрын
    • pixpusha Oh wow. I can see the logic in that though, you’re right about that. If every service member thought there opinion mattered, it would be chaos. Just like the chaos that comes it experiences as a civilian, with everyone thinking their opinion is important and valid just because it is their opinion. I come from a military family and have always felt a pull to the service, it’s always nice to hear from actual veterans about their experiences, good or bad. Also, thank you for your service! I hate that old customer service adage “the customer is always right.” Now customers feel entitled to treat workers with disdain and suffocating irateness and are pretty much applauded. Crazy.

      @lotusinn3@lotusinn34 жыл бұрын
    • @@lotusinn3 ...Correct. Some people act like spoiled little children and think just because they spent some money, they have the right to treat someone disrespectfully. Now, on the other hand I have received horrible service from a number of companies-I just stop spending my money there.

  • the spider metaphor is about melania being afraid to speak to others and how shes worried about her surroundings. people expect her to be the perfect person so he never opens up about her feelings (thus her caging the spider in a small box). when she finally met the man she was talking to, she gave him the spider along with a thanks (to symbolize that she finally got to open up to the person who listened to her and that shes no longer afraid of speaking). he opened the box, the only person who listened to her, because he was the person she opened up to. he opened that box up for her, and the spider that she feared would crawl out.
