Buster Keaton (born as Joseph Frank Keaton in 1895, Piqua, Kansas - died in 1966, Woodland Hills, California, U.S.A.) is an American actor and film director. The son of wandering vaudeville actors, Keaton was forced to tread upon stage already at the early age of 3. In his late 20s, he went to New York and began working as the sidekick of the comedian Roscoe "Fatty" Arbuckle, to continue from then on his solo career.
His ever-serious deadpan expression will earn him the nickname “The Great Stone Face”. His comedy, bordering on the surreal, and in fact, he was much loved by the surrealists, constantly plays on the contrasts of true/false, dream/reality, and in a world that is in constant change. Often towards catastrophe, his expression is the only firm point that reveals the contradictions and the most absurd aspects; moreover, in many of his creations, Keaton stages the methods and the cinema itself: metalinguistic elements appear in many of his films and in particular in The Playhouse :

or in The Cameraman . But the advent of sound put an end to his career, as well as that of many other silent film comedians, whose comedy was based on physical gags and therefore no longer suitable for sound cinema.

Also, Buster is so attractive for literally no reason
we all knew that
He’s attractive for all kinds of reasons.
To see at 17:00 the ORIGINAL Yankee Stadium, only 4 years old, before the completion of the wraparound upper decks, makes this an historical gem in and of itself!

94 years ago and still hilarious
"He was a lovely person and a supreme artist and, I think, one of the most beautiful people that was ever photographed" -- Orson Welles on Buster Keaton. Sums it up pretty well for me too.
More: "He was, as we are now beginning to realize the greatest of all the clowns in the history of the cinema...He was a lovely person, and a supreme artist, and I think one of the most beautiful people that was ever photographed...Keaton was beyond all praise, a very great artist, also a superb director. In the last analysis, nobody came near him…I wish I’d known him better than I did. A tremendously nice person, you know, but also a man of secrets. I can’t even imagine what they were." - Orson Welles
And you don’t argue with Orson Welles. You just don’t.
The bit where he's running up and down the stairs in his building is so good. This may be one of my favourite movies of his. I love the crackly soundtrack as well, it's very charming.
I love old films so much❤ And I can't stand today's boring movies
He was such an amazing talent. He said in an interview this was one of his favourites.
Buster was a genius! And he surrounded himself with other genius's! And he made the world laugh and he was happy too! Thanks Buster!!
I'm glad to meet a Buster's fan
@@iconaus i'm a fan
As of January 1, 2024, this film is finally in the public domain!
Buster Keaton an angel with a sad face !
He was called "Great Stone Face"
One of his best movies, funny and sweet. Parallels his interest in the camera.
22:00 is totally me, lol. ❤️ Buster, absolutely brilliant
This movie made me cry. Not many stunts or gags, but oh, his face! His acting still carried him through. He could've done more movies like this. Idk if he directed or written this, it's different, but still good.
Ele era muito bom
He co-directed it with Ed Sedgwick but declined a directing credit.
wonderful movie , hatts off Buster and team.
Keaton's face at 34:02 😂 He's like "Okay... Fair enough."
These old silent movies (Keaton, Lloyd, Chaplin) are, from very far, the best movies we can find on KZhead. Thanks Iconauta.
My gosh, he was precious and beautiful
yes, Keaton was great. In my opinion he is too underrated compared to Chaplin
Heart touching story.. I love it
he said he never rehearsed anything, just talked it through then did it "bang" fresh...
People look so beautiful and they were dressed so beautifully back then… they are all very talented people too
The swimming pool scene is my favourite part 😂😂😂
my favorite too
That is the greatest footage I have ever seen of Buster Keaton! Thanks so much for sharing his finominla work. He is such a genius and this film is so impressive and is a new personal favorite. 🎥🎞📽🎬
Beautiful, artistic comedy that never ages. Best stunts and gags that are still funny and charming, and will continue to be funny for generations to come. We are so lucky to have the films and shorts of a creative, comic talent like Buster Keaton!
Buster is a great comedian God rest his soul
Great film. Just love Buster Keaton.
Great movie 👍
Buster's love was true, so he got his love...
Very nice movie... Heart touching
Oh wow, this is a much better quality download than what I've seen before. Really lets you enjoy the beautiful, soft black and white photography. Oh, how I love this movie.
I really don’t know what to say such a masterpiece from sir keaton..
The scene where he's shelling out his last found coins on the "let's just walk" date is exactly where "Half Baked" got the scene from! There are so many scenes that were referenced 60+ years later.
The scene in the swimming pool when he loses his bathers was also copied by Rowan Atkinson in a Mr Bean episode.
Definitely my favorite Buster Keaton movie he’s ever made 👍
I enjoyed watching this excellent film - with the piano beautifully playing.
This is one of my favorites of his; it's brilliant.
Buster Keaton and Charlie Chaplin are silent movies legends
@@arturoballeza2755 I agree! 👍
I think Vaquiro is still my fav Buster film, but this one had some pretty good moments.
Thank you for this! It's one of my favorite Buster movies. The swimming pool dressing room and swim/driving scene is such a classic!
I'm completely agree with you
How did I miss this film?! I love Buster Keaton. Thank you so very much!
Commovente ed esilarante. Grazie Keaton
Just saw this for my film class wow what a great movie
42:30 it's a buster shark
Buster Keaton Maestro 👍👍👍👍👍
buster keaton fans club, like
Lovely touching short film 😊
but this is not a short film
Buster is ripped af my god
Probably my favorite film from Keaton. His work is magical. Thanks for uploading :)
36:34 wow Buster was ripped
Had to be. You don't do stunts like he does and make it look so effortless without being ridiculously fit.
That sequence at 25:16 has got to be one of the best of the silent era. Very innovative for the time. Also, who else noticed Keaton’s resemblance to a certain Mr. Fallon 😂
is my favorite film it's amazing,beautiful...Very Very Good. ..buster keaton
Just emotional for a time ...great movi great bk
I like Buster Keaton
i love the music of this movie
Man with a Movie Camera is famous for the range of cinematic techniques Vertov invented, employed or developed, such as multiple exposure, fast motion, slow motion, freeze frames, match cuts, jump cuts, split screens, Dutch angles, extreme close-ups, tracking shots, reversed footage, stop motion animations and self-reflexive visuals (at one point it features a split-screen tracking shot; the sides have opposite Dutch angles). Man with a Movie Camera was largely dismissed upon its initial release; the work's fast cutting, self-reflexivity, and emphasis on form over content were all subjects of criticism. In the British Film Institute's 2012 Sight & Sound poll, however, film critics voted it the 8th greatest film ever made,[4] the 9th greatest in the 2022 poll, an
Wrong movie...
I guess The Joker would have said his famous saying “why so serious” after looking at Buster Keaton cuz he was always serious like no tomorrow....
Great movie!!!
40:07 the diving scene here is very much like a scene in a Mr. Bean episode!
Buster is beyond our mere words.
Buster keaton toda una leyenda..
32:45 since Coney Island he still struggles with the tickets
Best film of the 1920s
the feelings are so reall......💗

My favorite ❤️ He was so good looking too 😊
This is now in the public domain
Like.
Great movie
Buster keaton sir , hatts off
Gawd! Marceline Day sure was pretty!
Beautiful
Thank you
That was so good!!!
40:40 been a fear/ thought in the back of mind when diving. ironic to see it in a 20s movie 🤣
That's probably his best movie. Lack of privacy like in modern China. Survival like in US capitalism;) I like when his characters talk to animals and treat them as equal companions.
That yankee stadium scene is spectacular
Thanks for this!
Why is this unlisted now? I saved the link and glad I did. To somewhat quote the movie, "it's so beautiful!"
don't warry, you can keep the link also if it is unlisted, i had temporary unlisted (to complicate to explain) but i will republish it in some week
Excellent

Wow wow the finished time
very nice
Wow nice story
Does anybody know what music this is? When or where it was recorded, or who the composer and/or performer is?
That motion picture camera he was looking at for $2500 would cost $43,569.01 in today's dollars.
See young Yankee Stadium at 17:00 . One of his top ten , or six .
Neat!
Very nice. Feel degradation of modern cinema
Monk 🙈👍🏼😁
ALL THEM GIRLS SWIMMING BY HIM OMG
Prude bs same now as a hundred years ago!
This is all Mr Bean! Well nice to see where Rowan got his inspiration from. 😋
