Your adventure begins when you open the box with your new 3D mechanical model from UGEARS. This is when you will experience the pleasant smell of natural wood that will stay with you all the way through the process of assembly, testing and play. Building the model is fascinating and exciting: with your own hands you will put flat plywood details together to create a 3-dimensional moving mechanical marvel. However, assembly is just a part of the fun: when the Roadster is finished you will definitely want to see what it is capable of and take it for a test-drive. Even when you get to the curb and are ready to put your model away, we would recommend to park it in a well-visible place in your house or office. Classic shapes and iconic UGEARs’ design makes your Roadster a wonderful complement to any interior.
The unique charisma of the model comes from both its outstanding technical characteristics and detailed realistic retro-design. The clever combination of the plywood elements of different thickness - 4 and 2 mm - ensures that the roadster’s body looks streamlined and clear. Open the hood to see the powerful V8 engine and watch the moving valves.
Your sports car has a transmission that switches it in three modes: forward, back, and idle. The driving direction can be adjusted with the steering wheel. The suspension of the front wheels makes the Roadster look even more realistic.
With a powerful rubber band motor, the car covers up to four meters in one winding. The winding key is designed to look like a spare wheel at the rear of the Roadster.

Why does it look exactly the same as Veter Models VM-01 that came out last October, did Ugears acquire Veter or has it always been the same company? Clarification would be appreciated for fans who collect a large number of wooden mechanical models that's currently on the market.
Hi Bryan, thank you for your answer. In February, 2018, Ugears and a team of Veter Motors engineers concluded a partnership agreement. All Ugears V-Models are tested by Ugears engineers: the functional check of mechanisms, the quality of joints and connections, the design, the comprehensibility of assembly, the performance of assembled models, and preparation to production. After the refinement and adjustment is complete, Ugears company will launch the manufacture of Ugears V-Models under complete quality control of the production, as well as global service and engineer support for their customers.
I can'tget furder than step 4. The circle is to small i dont know how. Can somebody help me out.
I have a problem after assembling. The car does not work.In the film it looks like the car has a rubber band at the back wheels. In the instructions book where is no rubber band at the back wheels. Please respond.

Hello everyone, I built this the other day following the instructions but it doesn't move as it should, everything moved while I was building it then, during the last part, it looked stuck. I can't destroy it just to check but it bothers me that it doesn't work, did somebody have the same experience? What should I check? I need help please.

I have the same problem. I checked out all the gear wheels in the back but strongly suspect it is the ball bearing behind the seats which blocks when turned because the drive shaft turns when moved manually. I suspected already when I built it that this construction with the wooden ball bearing does not work. Also the gear level is almost impossible to move without breaking something. The model is nice and fun to build but some solutions do not work well at all. Also the steering weel is hard to move. I had to glue it. The connection to the front axle is not well done.

My roadster will not stay in the drive position when I wind the motor. When I release the motor it slips into neutral. It works fine in reverse. Any suggestions?

Press the gear lever and start the model several times, then develop the lever in different positions. Grease additionally parts #35 and 14. Toothpicks on the left side of the roadster under the back cover can be the problem. The mechanism with gears assembled on page #15, step 1, needs to be well developed to fix toothpicks. If this doesn't help, please send us several photos of the mechanism from different angles at customerservice@ugearsmodels.com.

Hi! Wind up the car by spinning wheels forward manually, while setting the lever into Drive mode to develop the mechanism and sit parts in their positions. Please recheck toothpicks under the back cover and seats, they shouldn't interfere with the mechanism's works. Additionally wax parts #10 and 12 on page #5. Recheck if gears have burrs between the teeth in cogs, that may jam the mechanism.
