What ppl cant explain properly abt Messi is that, 1) he didnt do fancy dribble, he just keep running with the ball and maneuvering with minimal movements yet nobody can touch nor stop him. 2) he always knows where his teammates are and whether they free, offsides or not. 3) he always knows how will the opponent defenders and keepers react coz he orchestrates them by making sure they focusing on his feet and the ball. 4) he doesnt have powerful shot but it always go in difficult angles.

Better freekick conversion rates (9% vs 6.2%). So I would still pick Messi over Ronaldo in terms of shooting.

Technical individual skill and technique doesn't always lead to goals or assists. In ice hockey you have Jaromir Jagr as the clearly most dominant player one-on-one or beating the opposition with pure stickhandling domination, and yes he is also one of the best all time in goals and assits, but not the best. I'm glad some players don't just play to score, but also see the sport as an art!
