the two rockstar employees are right, but i think one of the biggest reason is because the game is constantly getting leaked. Which is why one of the reason for employees to return to the office is the "security". I don't think they would be asked to return to the office if the game was not leaked when it was not supposed to.

those employee dont wanna work. its obvious that working in the office is way more productive in general and they will be able to work better and faster. but they just wanna be at home. the example they have that gta 5 version for ps5 and xbox series was all made in home office its an example that they did a terrible job, because the new versions have only improve smoke and fire effects, and thats basically all the new versions have to offer, they even got longer loading times. anyway, they will be better at the office for sure.

As a supervisor, the end all and be all of being on-site SHOULD be an expectation; particularly in a collaborative environment, and no doubt, majority of these employees were in the office PRIOR to COVID, with new additions being contractually obliged to work in the office if/when necessary. Still think the interview/information here is extremely far-fetched, and wouldn’t consider it true - the interest is building and so the rumour mill is spinning. Like it has with every Rockstar AAA release.

Its a double edged sword opinion. You have employees who work from home and that's the routine that they have become accustomed to and In their defense, perhaps that's a big reason why they signed on to work with Rockstar instead of another company. Now on the other hand maybe for the same reason they should not complain about being called back to office for 5 days a week for a period of time. A crunch time roll call isn't a punishment. It's a strategy to finish developing a game that now has a rough estimated release date and is also one of the most, if not thee most anticipated game in video game history. I'm not sure what the working environment is like inside Rockstar games, but as an outsider looking in, they need to be willing to make small sacrifices ( like working a 5 day week in office ) to finish a job that they were tasked to do. Many construction jobs, like road construction, have a deadline date. Everyday they go beyond that deadline the company loses money. The more money the company loses, depending on the companies scale, everyday 9-5 employees may or may not lose their jobs, get backlash, or even demoted at work for not being capable to properly, safely, and strategically finish a job in a timely manor. I don't see why this company, employees, and consumers should treat the video gaming business any differently. It is more than just creating a video game, its a massive business. Many other companies like Ubisoft, have stated that they market their release dates around the same time as Rockstar because of the huge audience their games pull in. The devs need to step up, bust their A**es and do what not only they are paid to do, but what they are passionate about.
The people that work for Rockstar if they do not want to work in the office why don't we just turn in the resignation and go to work for somewhere else Rockstar is not twisting your arm to work for them if you do not want to work go somewhere else they are the boss😊 if you don't like it the doors right in front of you all you got to do is take it is there in the boss there wants to sign your paycheck so you can either show up or not show up those people that have jobs that have to show up in the office every day it doesn't kill them now does it
If they genuinely worked whist at home and actually had security then A.. we'd probably have GTA 6 already and B.... We wouldn't of had all those leaks that have ruined GTA 6. honestly everyones a bit*h imo. if you have part in GTA6 the biggest best greatest most anticipated video game ever to be release, i think you should be working 60-70 hrs a week its a part of game dev its called crunch time.
