Have they always used Arabic numerals on the balls? Or did they start using them to make the game more accessible to Westerners?

it’s called chinese 8ball, the pockets are rounded but they use american sized balls so different enough from uk pool or regular 8ball

It's name is Chinese 8 ball. They use pool size tables, snooker table cloth and pockets and American pool size balls. It's their own game.

Here in the states we break a group of balls in the shape of a triangle and it's a collection of stripes and solids with one black ball, the 8-ball. Folks take turns potting stripped or solid balls, depending on what's chosen, in pockets and the last ball to be potted after all your balls are gone is the 8-ball. Obviously that's not what's going on here. P.S. Corporate wants you to find the difference between these two pictures.
