Stakes are high, talks are quieted and now it comes down to the two men in the ring Saturday night in Las Vegas!
Ahead of the most anticipated boxing match of the year this Saturday July 29th on Showtime Pay Per View fight against Errol Spence Jr in Las Vegas, Bud Crawford sat down with to talk about directing his childhood anger into boxing and being an underdog his entire life.
Tough times and close calls are nothing new to the WBO welterweight Champ, who after being shot in the head early in his pro career, said the moment changed his life and redirected the course of his path. It was also the moment he realized he needed to reevaluate his circle and change his surroundings before he jeopardized his future.
After being doubted his entire life, Bud makes it clear that he will never let the politics of boxing affect the belief in himself or his will to continue to compete. With a record of 39-0 and 30 KO’s, Bud can still hear the voices of doubters despite remaining victorious.
Voices of which Bud has learned to tune out in preparation for the biggest fight of his life.
Bud reassures Ryan, Fred, and Channing that he has much respect for Errol Spence Jr. however he’s confident he will leave undefeated. Crawford is dialed in on focusing on himself and letting his work speak for itself, With family and fatherhood his number one priority, proving himself to be the best in the sport is still at the forefront of Crawford’s mind.
Tune in this Saturday and don’t miss the Showtime PPV title bout that everyone has been waiting for…Crawford Vs Spence!!

  • Man I'm a huge Errol Spence fan but the more I look into Bud Crawford the more love I have for him too. He's a solid individual. They both have more in common then I knew. I love that their not being personal and crazy with insults. It's refreshing that they have a certain level of respect for one another. I hope this is an amazing fight and that they keep being great.

It's like the cat in the hood who gets everybody in drama but never handles it himself. One of the worst type of people.

  • I remember 2005 2006 first time I met Bud at Golden gloves tourney and he got into it with his teammate in the stands. Mind you prior to that his name rang bells because he was known to be like deebo. People were scared to compliment him because of how he may react. So I’m glad to see his growth maturity and humbleness at an all time high. Never give up on people because they do change.

    • Athletics and sports are great for that very reason. Well, for many reasons, but for this one reason in particular; its that sports facilitate the building of character so much. Boxing catches alot of flack for the danger to the fighters and the physical violent nature of the sport. But it truly is the opposite of violence in many ways. Because violence is usually characterized by physical harm to others based on negative emotions and thoughtless reactions. Undisciplined mentalities put in harsh circumstancrs that push people to harm others and make terrible split second choices that affect others for life.. But boxing is about teaching us to face adversity and obstacles with sound mind and clarity. Not trying to permanantly damage or harm people. But shaping the individuals to be disciplined and thoughtful. Proactive. And to carry themselves with dignity and honor. To make good choices. Realizing that you cannot control what happens in life, but you can control how you respond. You can control yourself. Mindfullness. Learning to be poised and strive thru whatever comes with class and integrity. And sports have the power to shape people to be the best version of themselves. You can often see the growth in character and personality. Emotional intelligence is built in sports and in boxing , maybe more than any other sport. But sports in general are great for helping people in these ways.

Folks, Bud came up *hard* . The neighborhood which produced him is as hard as they come, ANYWHERE. He could have easily gone the wrong way. It's a credit to him and to the people who helped him that he sorted himself out, focused, and became the champion we all know. Congrats, Champ. Now, go get yourself a couple belts at 156, further cement your legacy as the greatest boxer of your generation, and enjoy your life. Regardless of how your career ends, you have more than earned a long, happy life with your family. Omaha Strong 🥊👊🏿💪🏿

Everything I said would happen happened and came to pass. Bud stopped Erol in 9. It should've been sooner but I always knew Bud would be a great of this sport. I had fallen outa love with Boxing bcos of all the nonsense and dodgy judging but Bud made me sit up and take notice again. I'm in my 50's now but to me Bud is the best fighter I've ever seen. This man can do it all. He uses beautiful angles during his fights and he made Erol look slow and cumbersome. I would love to see Bud fight in IRELAND one time if we could find the money to pay him to come and fight here.. He's an absolute legend now. Breaking Erol Spence the way he did showed how great his is. The ldbc CLOWNS online will always move the goalposts on TBC. They'll never give this top man his credit.. Now it's time to give Bud his due. He's a great of this sport. Salute to u Bud my man. I watch Coach Malachi too man. U had him at the Avenesian fight ann in camp for a wee bit
