  • I have been homeless before and I know how it feels to be forgotten in your society. Even time I watch these videos, I burst into tears when they get their key because I know how much this is helping people! I will donate as soon as I am able ❤

    • dont worry old people feel the same way often. and tghey are not forgotten the people, people just dont want to care and engage.. imagine if this guy opened his door to the homeless person. this is kind of cruel to give a man a place that takes him longer away from bieng a part of society. this place does not offer help or people to talk to, it more or less provides comfort for the person who gives it i have been homeless for over 20 years, today i own house car and so on. and i would never ask people to stay on the street if i was going to help them, with their living situation either you go all in or you turn away, this is a human life one of the reasons i have a great life today, is because i ran into people that did care for a period of years

    • You obviously have no clue what this does to help us on the streets. Armchair judgements do nobody any good. You claim you was homeless for 20 yrs and now own everything you should as a citizen, yet i see nothing in your statements that claims you are doing anything to pass forward any help to those still struggling. These people are angels to those sleeping on the ground and dealing with the environment. I say its a blessing to those of us who need some form of shelter and ability to lock up our gear when we need it. I feel more confidence when i walk into a place and im not carrying a big overloaded backpack. I feel more self esteem when i am not looked at as a bum because i can be clean and unencumbered. Be wary of who you speak for when you put people down for doing what they can for those on need. Just because you arent homeless any more doesnt mean you cant be again.

  • It is awesome that you all are doing this. I have one suggestion, can you put a regular door knob with a lock and key? I wonder if it safe for the homeless to have a lock on the outside of their tiny home. It's a very ruthless world, and it's possible that someone might try to lock them in if they are asleep. Or possible set it on fire with them locked in it. We have seen a lot of pretty bad stuff with the homeless population, so maybe having it lock from the inside would be safer. Or ask the homeless population what they think. They would know better. Great job on helping these people!

    @fabbyespitia711@fabbyespitia71111 ай бұрын
  • Great build. My only concern would be to rework the door. Someone with malicious intent can easily lock him inside.

    • people can just open their door to these poor people, and get engaged in their lifes. this is crap, this homeless person does not get much help from this i have been homeless for over 20 years, and i would never offer people to stay in the street if i was going to help them with their life or living situation.. this just shows why the problem is there

      @Hansen710@Hansen71010 ай бұрын
    • @@Hansen710 this! As cool as the build may be, it really just looks like taking advantage of someone in crisis to make a quick clout grab. James 2:15-16 "if a brother or sister has nothing to wear and has no food for the day, and one of you says 'go in peace, keep warm, amd eat well,' but you do not give them the necessities of the body, what good is it?" It would cost him so much less to give the man a proper place to sleep and sufficient support until he's back on his feet but no, we gotta make a portable cage and post it💀

      @patricia6081@patricia60817 ай бұрын
    • Could do more . The 2by2 is too thin and could break and you shouldn’t use nails to attach any type of hole screws are better to hold things together . I should know my mentor builds things to protect people as he is a arcitect and I also spent some time with my brother who fixes up and flips houses for a living . It would’ve been smarter to use 4by 4 and 2by 4 frame 2by 2 is just gonna easily break over time . If I was gonna make this I would’ve installed a shower a bed a toilet and a little desk as well as a table and cabinets with a sink for a small kitchen witch could then attach to a bike and it would have solar panels for electric . This is how it should be . Since you won’t build things for the homeless how it should be maybe I will . See the problem with the homless is far more complex then people think . The real issue isn’t that people are homless just because they are homeless the real issue is that they are mentally ill and people are too dumb enough to put a system in place to deal with that this is why no one is able to fix homelessness . The people that are actualy homless and have no home are actualy in the minority because we have systems that deal with that Specificly non profits and shelters . I get it thought society makes things way to expensive it’s actually smarter and way more fun to live from a self made camper . And rightly understandable because the current system in society is designed to keep people from thinking for themself . As that is a brutally cold hard truth about life . This little trailer is pretty cool but it isn’t efficient and does not solve the problem of homelessness at all . Not to mention under the right environmental circumstances it’ll break very easily .It doesn’t seem much forethought was put into this build . Do not take what I’m saying as negative please consider it constructive critisism I say all this because I actually give a damn . Seriously put more effort into helping someone out off the streets sheesh . If you’re gonna do something cool like this to help someone which is very noble then go all the way otherwise don’t even start . If you can’t understand what I am saying then you have a lot of introspecting to do .

  • God bless you two for doing this. While watching this video, I was thinking if you put the hinges to the top of the camper, so you lift the door up to open it, with some sort of small 'leg" that pops down, the new owner could use it like a little canopy to sit under so they have a little cover while cooking outside the trailer.

I'm really worried at the moment that I may end up homeless at some point in the near future so videos like this just give me ideas on how to create a mobile shelter incase I do end up on the streets and the police harass me to move on, a light weight and mobile shelter would make it so easy to pack up at a moments notice an move on without have to find a new place to build a shelter.

You don't need to cut it except at the end. I would put some around the door to for strength & durability as this is high used area.

  • Perhaps a berkey filter and shower would be a nice upgrade for that camper. You can do it with three water buckets with lids, a berkey style water filter element, a spiggot, a rope, and a cheap hand sprayer. Two buckets for the filter. Drill hole in the bottom of one and a corresponding hole in a lid to insert the element to turn stream water to drinking water collected in bottom bucket. In bottom bucket insert a spiggot and spray hose.... thats five gallons of clean water every day to wash, clean, and drink. Third bucket, collect water with ...or grow a small garden. That would give him water, power, a meal once per week at least....and if you gave a forth bucket with a seat it would be a toilet too.....just a thought but you are still doing more than most😊

  • So happy I found your channel. You are amazing. One suggestion when looking to stock the camper, a small air pump and spare inner tubes. I would hate for such a gift yo get stolen because they had to leave it to go get them.
