This Mosquito killer is actually an attractant pulling them away from where you want to be. It takes about three weeks, but really works. The claim each bottle will do an acre. I find that hard to believe but it sure works well in an average size yard. Placement is everything. You need to place them as far away as you can from where you want to be Mosquito free, but not too far that it won’t attract them from that space.

My daughter gave me a set and the results are nothing short of amazing. You could enjoy much of the day’s activities especially the last few hours before dusk. Now I can’t remember the last time mosquitos bothered me.
That is awesome!
Beautiful yard and landscaping
Thank you!
Your property is absolutely beautiful! I am so glad I came across your video!! I live in Minnesota so these mosquito repellents seem like an easy fix. 😁👍🏼🇺🇸
Thank you so much!
Great helpful video and seeing your beautiful yard was a bonus. 😊
Thanks so much! 😊
Thank you! I feel bad that sooo many people are obviously jealous of you and probably your property, which I think is beautiful! People sure get vicious but I notice they don’t post or try to share anything helpful… they tour other sites and spew their vile comments! :-( Thanks for sharing- I’m going to buy a few and hopefully they will work! This is a bad year for mosquitos for sure!!
Thank you so much!

Thanks for the tips I am in Cape Coral as well and currently waiting to get my dock built next week. would you be interest in sharing who did your tiki hut and the design inside ? I was very impressed with the tiki hut and the set up, you should do another video just on that lol
Thanks, I do have a dock build video that i have never edited and posted. I'll do it! we designed the tiki hut ourselves. it's the largest one the cape will allow. please subscribe so you don't miss the dock video when i post it.
Always looking for repellent ideas! Here in Florida as well. This I haven’t tried. Thanks bud.
Thanks for the comment!
One thing you left out big guy......HOW DO THEY WORK? WHAT IS THEIR DESIGN PRINCIPLE?
Pretty frustrating, right?
Exactly! Do the mosquitos fly into the cylinder? Maybe open one up and show us the results! Just wasted my time watching this.
Sorry about that. They actually attract mosquitoes. Directions say place them in the corners of you property where you would normally not hang out. They drink the stuff and die later. No mess in the tube. Just add water as it evaporates. You get more than 30 days out of them by adding water weekly. Hope that helps.

Beautiful yard and entrainment area
Thanks!
I treat my yard and foliage with bifenthrin monthly during Mosquito season. Works pretty good. Can tell when the product wears off. Might be hard to treat your yard because of the body of water you live on.
Good to know!
I looked this product up as it is not available in my country. It contains 11.48% sodium chloride, 88.34% sucrose, and 0.18% yeast. So I will mix sugar, salt and yeast according to this ratio and fill that into a container. Hope it works
Some flour and you have bread
Funny. When I make bread during gnat season, I have to watch everything like a hawk as I go bcz they love that yeast smell so much, they’ll kamikaze into the dough, the mixer bowl, the yeast & water,….
@@ShavinMcCrotch Anyone can easy make this mosquito trap.
@@Brian-gx7yx I’m discovering that now as I’m reading other articles online. And they get $40 for what is basically a bottle of yeast, sugar, and salt. 😜 I actually made this out of empty 2L bottles a couple years ago, come to think of it! 😆 Yeah, they caught a lot of mosquitoes, but I still couldn’t sit outside.
@@ShavinMcCrotch Any idea what the measurement are that you need in proper preportion to the water?
I'm in the Carolinas & use a mosquito magnet, and a few 5 gallon buckets with about 2 gallons of dirty water in each then drop a mosquito dunk in them. Have to refill propane tank & change attractant cartridge & clean out catch container on mosquito magnet every 3 weeks. Just for good measure I refill my buckets at the same time and put new dunks in them. Thanks for the tip. FLY NAVY!!!
Thanks!
What mosquito magnet do you use? I'm in Houston and with all the rain lately we have them terrible right now and they love me. I'd like to hear more about your method and how it works for you.
@@patriotparkinglotservices-8881 I believe my model is the patriot. It also uses AC power so I run a cord to it and just leave it. Change the attractant cartridge, clean the catch container, and refill the propane every 21 days. One thing mosquito magnet doesn't tell you is to clean the propane line every tank refill. Found out about this online and bought the adapter and do it every tank change. I also spread mosquito bits around the damp areas in my yard, you can find them online at Walmart. Hope this info helps. FLY NAVY!!!
Thanks and good to know! ❤️
You are so welcome!
Thanks so much for the overview. We're getting these where I work, and I was interested in knowing how they worked. MS mosquitos aren't any fun! Thank you for sharing.
Glad it was helpful!
I feel you on that, I’m in Memphis… the mofo’s are out for blood. Even in the morning hours
What a pretty backyard and pool area you have! Beautiful.
Thanks so much
Beautiful landscape , thanks for the info
Glad you enjoyed it
We agree with the last post. Great seeing your property and all, but more details would have been helpful.
Next time!
Tiki Brand sells their Bitefighter string lights that would accomplish repellent on regular power. ThermaCELL also has a USB-C version, not sure they turn on when given power but easier to use versus the butane.
Good to know!
just use a yeast and sugar black bucket of water with a little dawn soap in and put it in a corner, preferably little wind in that location. The mosquitoes will go to the bucket and try landing on it and the soapy water will mean they drown.
Thanks!
This sounds great too...perhaps more cost effective for some! Do you have a ratio or recipe to share?
Had a bucket sitting right above a bunch of mosquitos on the wall in my sunroom. Not one went in the bucket. The science makes sense that sugar and yeast make carbon dioxide but does the Dawn prevent them from detecting it? Who knows but it didn’t work for me.
@@annflores4852 put in a dark windless corner.

I was reading it says to not put to close together and they should be 80 feet apart. I am going to try these. Thanks!

I always have my Thermacell. I’m ordering this. Love your dock space😎
Awesome! Thank you!
Another idea since you mentioned 110 is tiki came out with strung light that have chemicals to repel pests just like the riki torch oil fyi
Thanks!
Great video. Next do one on the deck and why you chose certain materials and the covered area. Is there a risk with strong winds or storms?
Thanks, I chose the decking because it is a structural deck plank. It actually serves to help hold the deck together. It’s buoyant which could cause a problem with flooding due to flotation however, I believe during the hurricane flood, my dock did not lift because my boats and lifts are so heavy. Anyway I have been thinking about doing a deck and all things out there are video. Thanks for the comment.
Loved your video! I will give these a try!
Thanks
Hard to beat a bath/soak in “Skin So Soft water” before going around those little beasts. As a Florida Southern Bell tech, I tried Everything and to me, this seemed to help the most
I remember this brand from many years ago. When I searched the web, I found that they have many different types of insect repellent now. When one do you use?
@@gingle9429 I just ask my wife if she had any SSS and she gave me her bottle to carry in my phone truck. A lady customer said I was the best smelling phone guy ever😄 I think Avon made it. Skeeters hated it. As did those horrible little “no see’ms”

My best anti-mosquito success has been this year and I'm using a big zapper out front and 2 Katchy units inside. I put the zapper up a couple weeks before the first baby mosquitoes showed up and it went crazy right away. At that point it was still pretty cold outside. Then, a couple weeks later, I turned on the Katchy units and they quickly caught tons of teeny tiny baby mosquitoes as well as cedar gnats (no-see-ums/flying chiggers, as I call 'em) and fungus gnats. The last few years those damned bitey bugs have necessitated me having to be covered from neck to toes INSIDE the house and this year, no problem. Now there is occasionally 1 or 2 of the buggers that get in the house but they get taken out by the Katchys fairly quickly. For my hydroponics room, I use both the yellow and the black sticky traps, as I have tiny moths as well as the aforementioned buggers.

I also live on a river in Sebastian Fl. came here from California. I cannot even go outside in the evening for 5 min. without getting attacked by no see ems. Does this product work for you keeping the no see ems off you?
No, but I just posted another video of this other product that takes care of Noseeum’s
Went to a garden party once, and asked why the fans. Oscillating fans keep the mosquitoes away, as they cannot fly in the breeze. So I always have fans on my patio if the pests are annoying.
Good to know!
Yep, 100% best way is have crosswinds or wind tunnel type set up , mosquitoes can’t land and Stay landed to drink
The instructions I read, say 80 feet away from where people will be gathered and tubes should be 80 feet away from each other; that hey, it’s working 👍🏻
Thanks!
Would you mind sharing the name of the thermacell product you show in your video please?
It’s the patio shield Thermacell Patio Shield Mosquito Repeller; Highly Effective Mosquito Repellent for Patio; No Candles or Flames, DEET-Free, Scent-Free, Bug Spray Alternative; Includes 12-Hour Refill a.co/d/6BYzrGG
I use Aion Mosquito as well. Environmental safe for animals etc. This Aion product works Awesome over any other products I have tried! This attracts mosquitoes and seem to eliminate them from laying eggs. Keeps them away from us which is why we bought.
Good to know. Thanks for the comment!
Amazon says "unavailable" now. Your video must have gone viral!
Oh geez. Well there’s a couple different products and there’s also the brand-name at Home Depot which is really only four dollars more. Thanks for the comment
Amazon might have pulled the product due to complaints from states. To be legally sold in most states, a device such as this needs to be registered (takes time, money), and I'm not sure the AION Mosquito Eliminator went through those hoops. Amazon is a bit twitchy about selling illegal pesticides because several years ago it was caught and received a massive fine.
Thank you
You're welcome
Where did you get your table and chairs? I'm looking for a set just like that...
Thanks. A local polyteak dealer. Just Google polyteak furniture. Poly wood and fabritech also. You get what you pay for. The cheeper choices are lighter foam core type lumber with lower grade stainless hardware. The more expensive option 300.00 per chair range are solid, heavy, fade resistant and high quality 316 stainless hardware that will not rust stain. Hope that helps!
First off, your seating area is absolutely gorgeous. Second, I understood your explanation of how these things work. With that said, I would recommend the LP gas mosquito Magnet or similar. If you can talk your neighbors into getting one all the better. My opinion. The mosquitoes serve to remind man of the mistake made in the garden. Since flesh and “blood” can not enter the kingdom, I suspect the mosquitoes will soon no longer exist.
Good info! Thanks fir the feedback.
That product seems to be just yeast with sugar - which expels carbon dioxide, that would explain why they say to use warm water. Does it state to not use water warmer than 120f?
I think it says hot from the tap, do not boil
Does it also kill useful pollinators, like bees, moths and butterflies and useful insects that kill mosquitos (like ladybugs)? Our food supply depends on these!!
It does not. Only mosquitoes. I just posted a new video on a different product with the same resolve. It does not hurt dragonflies or bumblebees.
Very informative video, but you should have shown the contents of the one you had hanging so we can see how many mosquitoes it caught. Thanks for the video
It does not actually catch mosquitoes. They drink the stuff and then they die somewhere else. Evidently the water will evaporate overtime but the solids dissolved in the water do not evaporate. So you can just continue to add water
@@bobbygfl oh I see. Thanks for clarifying this. I ordered some from Amazon because of your video. Hope it works in my area!
I used these and over the summer I didn’t see one mosquito inside the container. Believe it was boric acid based with added water. Doesn’t do jack 💩as far as I can tell.

I have and electronic bug zapper and I spray our yard with a product called Ectiban Fly Killer. It kills all kinds of bugs but it’s not harmful to any mammals. It’s used on right on cattle to keep flies, ticks and fleas off the animals and used in dairy barns the keep flies out. It’s amazing for spiders at lake properties.
Good to know. Thanks!
Thats just permethrin, and certainly isn't ok for all mammals. Cats are particularly sensitive to that family of poisons.
I ran 4 of those Thermacell on my patio in Tampa and those things did NOT work. I’ll try out the eliminator see if it works. I like your property but with that lake in the back being so close there will never be a shortage of Mosquitoes!
