G'day! 6:51 In a way, they did use a theme for Mozart's father, at least as the film progressed. This was the Don Giovanni D minor chord from the final commendatore scene, as Mozart's father is being depicted as the commendatore in "Don Giovanni". This chord and 1 other minor chord are played at strategic points: Mozart's father's standing at the top of the stairs, the performance of the Commendatore scene at the theatre, the appearance of Salieri wearing the same costume as Mozart's father when he commissions the Requiem Mass, and Mozart's dancing around wildly, whilst thumbing his nose at his father's portrait.

Although brought up listening to pop and rock , i'll be buying Mozart's Requiem in D Minor used on that fantastic scene at the end of this masterpiece.I used to find classical music had...."too many notes" ha ha

All of this actors can Impersonating Milos Forman wonderfully🤣
After reading your comment I had to go back and watch some of the parts, got a good chuckle haha..thanks
I love the composer, the music, and this film with everything that makes it great, which never fails to delight my soul.
Milos was a proper old school director, he knew what he wanted,.
Thank you so much for uploading this fascinating documentary on the most perfect film. I've watched this film(yesterday again) so many times and two stage productions. Nothing beats the film , the acting is sensational , even the small parts of Salieri's maid sent to work and spy on Mozart are brilliant , of course F.Murray Abraham is magnificent as Salieri, the film has not dated in anyway . Although brought up listening to pop and rock , i'll be buying Mozart's Requiem in D Minor used on that fantastic scene at the end of this masterpiece.I used to find classical music had...."too many notes" ha ha
Great man. RIP
The brilliance and the perfection of this movie makes it not only one of the best ever but also a great work of art itself that fully deserves Mozart’s music. It has introduced millions of people like me to the greatness of Mozart. I consider myself lucky to be one of those to have Mozart’s music to be appreciated in life. To Milos Forman and Peter Shaffer, Thank you Sirs.
F. Murray Abraham seems like such a sweet, eloquent, reflective guy. I love the idea of him running off to dinner with a dumbass friend who just crashed a chandelier trying to outsmart the Czechoslovak secret police.
Eh, no he is surely a typical narcisstic personality. Forman mentions that Abraham acted like Saleri would do... still a very talented actor!
@@svgo9956 I had no idea! Thanks for telling me. Was this him doing method acting for Salieri, or does he always behave that way? I know Daniel Day Lewis is famously difficult because he never goes out of character, and that can make filming with him uncomfortable. The results are great though...
@@saveusmilkboy If he is a narcissist which I belive it´s a personality trait and can´t change. It´s only a part of the person and other parts can play different roles but a domineering part.
Yes, Milos ! Genius meets Genius ! Fantastic documentary of the film ! Even if you don't like classical music . There is so much more to the story than just a boring historical film ! The film is not boring at all ! It's perfection with wonderful drama !!!
R.I.P. Milos Forman :-(
Beautiful movie along with an amazing cast.
The best movie in the world. The most gracious representation of Mozart ever existed. I think He would be so happy, seeing himself like that. Watched more than 100 times?… idk! Best. Best. Best.
I just LOVE THIS movie!!! I have watch it so many Times and I cant stop re watch it. A big thank you for upload it
This is so incredible. All this time and I've never known all the behind the scenes stuff.
This directors cut might be just as good and entertaining as the movie... beautiful production
Never being aware of this type of music, except for in cartoons, this movie was an epiphany, thank you.
Elisabeth Berridge was just perfect for the part, cute, quirky and slightly neurotic.
28:00 the story of the actress of Constanze being replaced is creepy - I mean: in real life Mozart's first choice/love was Constanze's older sister Aloisia and after she rejected him the ways of the family with Mozrat parted for a while but then after another meeting Constanze came up as resolution.. C'MON universe what are you doing??
Love this movie!!! Thank you. Just watched it again last night.
Milos, you made movie history and your life was not lived in vain!
I also can’t imagine being in that opera house with all the candles, wigs etc. as if it was actually the 1700s It must have been an honor to play the role of Mozart
Brilliant and wonderful!
This was wonderful! I love this movie and I really appreciate all the people that made it possible. Thanks for posting!
Millions have posted videos we've liked. Milos Forman created a Period Piece Motion Picture which will forever be a classic that will withstand all time. "Challenge that, Generation-X!" TY for posting. R.I.P. Milos Forman.
The making of one of the best films in the twentieth century and only 175 comments?
Without doubt this is the best video I have ever seen on KZhead.
Thanks for upload this amazing movie ❤️
Fantastic! Thank you for sharing it!
Very very nice! Thanks for sharing.
same here. severally. Good movie
Just masterpiece ❤
The best movie ever made! Just genius! I'm glad it's up in the movie's again here in Sweden. It deserves a place for every generation.
Wrong + Bad main cast only the actress in the role of Mozart wife (Wulfi) was great
@@jimcameron1234 Don't agree! Salieri is just magnificent!
One of the greats.
MASTERPIECE.
I love R2D2 is in Amadeus ❤
My favorite movie of all time. I've seen it over 1000 times. I love Mozart.
Mozart is my favorite composer by far!! I've watched the movie countless times and I listen to Mozart's music almost daily. It gives me a peace and a calming awareness that no other music brings.
@@pbailey232 Beethoven was better
Elizabeth Berridge is so weird. I love her!
I tear up at ONLY 91% of the scenes
Even though they are kinda blurring the faces of the actors in the audition footage, that is clearly Elizabeth McGovern at 10:35.
It has NOT aged even a day.
Bravos ❤
best movie ever f murray abraham the best won oscar ever. one wasnt enough they should have given him 2
Loved that movie!!!
Flawless.
My all time favourite film , and One flew over the cuckoo's nest not far behind.
this is a GREAT movie, love it
Thank goodness for Concorde and the USSR As a WASP, i noticed a very, very slight American accent, here and there, in retrospect. Stunning production! Islam cannot supply this!
Great movie!
I wished the play starring Paul Scofield had been filmed!
Tom Hulce Voiced Quasimodo from Disney's The Hunchback Of Notre Dame 1 and 2
♡
it's true the movie has not aged..
The best movie EVER MADE !!! With the best performance of leading actors in film history !!! Salieri Played by Abraham WAS SUPERB !!!Stil remains my favoriye movie of ALL TİME !!
The theatrical release is better than the Director's cut.
Music was never made so glorious and infectious as "Amadeus" did. If only..someone could do a decent movie like this about Beethoven. They got Gary Oldman, who I think was perfect to play Beethoven, who did his best for the part, in a sadly way inferior movie. BTW does anyone know the final contender for the past of Constanze besides Berridge?
Yes! It was Diane Franklin, an actress who was, as Milos said, "too pretty" for the part, although looking at her pictures as a young woman back then, I thought she was cute as button, and probably better suited for a Jane Austen movie. But I can also see why it was so hard to choose between the two, because she looked like a sparky, vivacious young thing as well... 😊
@@hamsterdiving7593 why thank you so much~you are right..Diane does possess that bubbliness that Elizabeth gives to her Stanze character as well. But I'm glad the latter got the role cos her Stanze got great chemistry with Tom's Mozart.
@@tinkerchel I agree 👍
On the casting sheet, I'm seeing Peter McNicol as Mozart, Sam Waterston as Salieri, and Elizabeth McGovern as Constance. And Mick, or 'Mike' Jagger???
The Only Version Of 1984's Amadeus That I Prefer Is The R-Rated Director's Cut (180 Mins).
