According to the tag this is a genuine X33 coded Z-28 with factory D80 spoilers. The Z-28 was a legendary special performance package for racing which key features were the high revving 302 DZ motor, a 4-speed manual trans and performance cooling, braking and handling. The 1969 Camaro Z-28 stands as one of the great pony cars, muscle cars, and racers of all time.
EXTERIOR: The body is laser straight. The fit and finish presents itself very nicely. It’s been repainted in a British Racing Green with dual white stripes. It is a factory D80 code Z-28 front and rear spoiler car. The front end looks sharp with the correct Z-28 cowl hood, and Z-28 front grill. Also added is the exterior trim package including rain gutters, louvers, and wheel well molding. It’s sitting on the 15 inch Rally wheels with Goodyear reproduction tires.
INTERIOR: Featuring a black standard interior in really great shape. The door panels look really good as well as all the trim, and window cranks. It has black bucket seats with a center console optioned with 4 pack gauges, and a Hurst 4-spd shifter. The deluxe woodgrain steering wheel has been replaced. The dash pad has been reupholstered and stitched. The correct 8 grand tachometer is sitting in a really good dash face. The headliner looks replaced, and the dome light works.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Under the hood is where it gets good. This genuine DZ 302 has correct casting codes. The engine is fitted with the correct GM aluminum intake, dual feed Holley carb, and cowl induction air cleaner. They dressed the engine appearance up with some chrome plated parts that really make this engine bay stand out from most others. This also has desirable power steering, and power brake options.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Under the trunk lid has been painted glossy as well as the jambs. New weather stripping was installed. The trunk compartment has a well done green spatter paint, completed with a nice trunk liner. There's a spare tire mounted with a jack assembly.
UNDERSIDE: Underneath the car is what you would want to see! Overall very clean with no rust or grime. It has new looking front suspension shocks and springs, as well as rear leaf springs and shocks. The power brakes have disc up front, drum in the rear and everything looks fresh. It has a special factory optioned performance chambered exhaust that has been chrome plated. The fuel tank looks new. Looking up at the motor it has a chrome oil pan and the starter looks fresh. The original VIN numbers matching 4-spd Muncie transmission looks clean. It also has it’s original 12 bolt 3.73 posi rear end dated to this car. The floors look very clean and original. The entire underside has been redone and coated with a thin nice rubberized protection. The frame is also rust free and painted satin black.
Service: Our on shop site inspection found and fixed the reverse light connection, and the turn signal connection to ensure they properly light up and cancel.
A significant amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my professional impression of the vehicle.
We were impressed with the drive of this vehicle. Hopping behind the wheel and taking off with the high revving 302 puts a smile on your face. The British racing green also makes the car look like it's going fast 100% of the time. You’ll enjoy driving this period correct Z-28 aka one of the iconic models from the Ponycar wars of the late 60’s.
Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video that explains the car's condition in detail.
**These cars are displayed in a museum. If interested in a particular car make an appointment with a salesman to see that car. Without an appointment there is an admission fee to enter the showroom. If you buy a car, your admission will be refunded and you will be given a 1 year membership.

  • Trim tag was showing a more rare color combination. X33 D80 true Z with spoilers. But was a 65 Olympic Gold body with 50 Dover White painted roof. I’ve only seen one other painted roof Camaro in my time in the Camaro hobby. I would have gone that route

  • It's always weird to me to see a Z/28 with a black grill since they had the silver grill (unless of course it was the RS Z/28). Obviously the previously owner either changed the grill or painted it.

    • Black grills came on the RS except if it was a Tuxedo Black RS it came with the silver grill 😊
