  • I am not a real fan of kpop BUT yesterday i listened to this song for the first time and still listening to it. It's been a long time since a song managed to make such an impression on me that I just sat there in shock with my mouth open since the begining of the song and was surprised at how perfect the song was. AND I AM STILL SHOCKED. I don’t know how to explain it, but this song seemed like a second wind.

He faces Heaven to prove he is unsullied, and that he has risen above the rumors, and those who seek to smear his reputation (the ones after "gossip" and "drama"). More, he appears to have walked away from a car wreck unscathed. The overturned car is in the background at 3:04, and we saw the windscreen shattering upon impact at 2:00. Could it possibly symbolise some kind of miracle (where he emerged unharmed), or rebirth? This is in contrast to the start of the MV, when his bare torso is covered in black marks. Taemin wears a balaclava, and cowers in a room, which seems to small to contain him. He seems trapped I take these to be signs of "sin" or "oppression". It's well-known that a lot of Taemin's solo work has religious overtones, such as Want (references to snakes and the forbidden apple). He is a devout Catholic, prays before he takes to the stage, and has named his dogs after Adam and Eve. His present to his "wife" (Apink's Naeun) in the reality show We Got Married was a rosary bracelet. I am no religious scholar, but it seems as though there is a theme of damnation/ redemption in Advice.

  • I love how his background dancers always tend to be equal number male and female and it's not in-your-face at all. They dance the same things, sometimes switching between them, sometimes mixed together. It's not about having 'sexy girls' in the background or 'more handsome men' or something, but actually just to have competent dancers for a better performance /)(\ It's like saying that gender of the dancers doesn't matter and doesn't take advantage of any gender either. Maybe it's a tiny thing or even wholly unintended, but it honestly makes me so happy to see~

    • It's 100% on purpose. Taemin talks about this specific issue in a few interviews. For example, in Criminal, when he's wearing the mask and the dancers' faces are blurred out, Taemin is stating that he wants idols to be judged for their art, not their looks. He pushes gender boundaries quite often, in style and choreo. He is a very deep thinker and every nuance of every MV has meaning and purpose. :)
