Nobody I know, listens to this stuff and Immortal wasn't exactly topping any charts in Canada. Now I have all their albums, even have Abbath's solo album, awaiting his second album and awaiting Immortal's 9th album all because of this video during my search.

I remember when I heard this first, and thought well it is something very abrasive, non-musical and interesting at the same time. Now after years of listening to black metal, it appears that this is probably some of the most listenable and melodic pieces of black metal music.

Right on. You can find traces of this even on their early crude albums like the intro to _The Sun No Longer Rises_ which also features a prominent major chord. Immortal are not exactly an avant-garde band but they're definitely not purists either and this is what I love about them.

Too many people involved in this music have either died or committed suicide. Life is not meant to be joyless and hopeless. If you're driven by anger, hate, anxiety, and/or depression, know that God truly does love you and is waiting for you to call out to him. He can restore love, hope and joy in your life. It's a journey, you have nothing to lose and everything to gain.
I've listened to all types of music, especially metal and if it has a darker undertone it's mostly just music to vent (in this case). I'm would consider myself a good man that wants nothing but good to others and success. But I also find beauty in this music. This band has nothing to do with Satanism, most of their lyricism comes from isolation since they lived in a remote city in Norway. Their image is a representation of how they felt, isolated, different, outcasts... Many of us can relate/related and we find peace of mind through this music. Although I agree with your message I'll also say God helps those who help themselves, I don't think people should just pray for change, fight for it. Have a blessed day.

However, I just read the lyrics and although it certainly isn't satanic, it seems to be celebrating sin (lust, pride) and also anti-God (besiege the thrones of reverence). While I'm glad you can maintain your faith while celebrating music like this, others (likely young listeners) are probably persuaded towards darkness rather than the light of Christ. I just don't know how healthy it is for the average person's spirit and psyche.

Black Metal is not my genre but the sound of this track is good, I have to say. I don't dislike it.
