The fact I still don't understand after this.
I just found this game today, I love the vibes, but I'd be lying if I said I found it intuitive haha, this is like the perfect guide to get me started, tysm!
A new tutorial just dropped in the latest update and I recommend you try it(it even has a secret or two), but this video still helps a lot!
And how do i set it up?
Appreciate the in depth guide. I played the tutorial for like 5 mins before realizing I was going to need some extra help. You do a good job at explaining things. You should keep at it. You deserve more than just 41 subs for this.
Thank you very much for your words of praise!
I agree, just subbed! :)
Love your videos!
this was genuinely incredibly helpful, thx for the guide
That you can reuse old signals, but in a more refined state, for points is a really helpful tip. thank you very much
Helped me process my first signal, thanks!
The math part was so confusing to me but once you explained it I can do it easy now, thank you 🙏
This is very helpful, it's so sad that not a lot of people know of the game or are interested in it 😢😢
True, but on the bright side, it also makes it easier to avoid being spoiled. The lack of online documentation adds so much to the horror
I don't have a PC powerful enough for this, but after watching some videos, I HAVE to get this game!
Do you guys know how to install the gane
If they wanted more ppl to play theyd just put it on steam
Thank you very much. I think I'm playing a newer version with some updated machine models and/ or textures, but this tutorial is still extremely helpful. I was having a lot of difficulty with manipulating objects in the environment. Thanks again!
i just started playing and you saved my life with the signals
I just started this game and I was stuck in downloading the signal. Watching that section of that video made me understand it completely. Gonna keep this video around if I'm absolutely in another mechanic since I want to figure thinga out myself. Thanks for making such a comprehensive video!
Same boat here, this video saved me with the downloads.
This game's got a very difficult learning curve but I love it
thanks for the guide, I ended up getting distracted and messing around because I couldn't figure out the signals part. I played a whole hour without even starting the actual game lol
THANK YOU SO MUCH I DIDN'T KNOW LIKE 6 MONTH HOW TO DO IT YOUR MY LIFE SAVER
you put more effort into this video than I do my videos and you only have 72 subs?! Underrated; Subbed :D
while watching this i thought this channel had like 100k+ subscribers
Thanks bro!
Thanks you very much!
I wish I had more time for games like this, looks like a second job from an outsider's perspective.
Thanks!
This is very helpful. I tried to figure out the Signals part myself, but I just couldn't get past the polarity and frequency stage. I spent so long in the tutorial trying to figure it out I actually starved to death 🤣 Consequences indeed. (Accept I don't think you can die in the tutorial? I was at F: 0.0 so I'm permanently passing out, I believe.) The game actually started to drop cheeseburgers from the sky on me, but for some reason I couldn't eat them even after using Alt + E or any other key combo I could think of. The burgers just disappeared 😢 I'm hoping my hunger will regenerate the next time I try the tutorial. Fingers crossed lol. If you have any tips or advice, I'm all ears man
The burgers that suddenly appear from nowhere are hallucinations and will not replenish your hunger, indicating that your hunger is low. Instead, you have to eat real food items, like rations and burgers, etc. Some of which you can find around the base, or are brought daily by the drone. You can also buy food from the shop. I am unsure whether or not there is food in the tutorial level as I have not yet played the new tutorial.
@@AlphaSatanOmega . . . . omg. I spent, like, ten minutes trying to eat those hallucinations 🤣 And yeah, there's food at the beginning of the tutorial. But once you take a trip down the water slide to the pool room, well, there's no staircase back up. And it didn't even occur to me that I might want to bring some of the food with me. I didn't realize I'd spend so much time in the tutorial lol. Thx for the help tho, I appreciate it!
exactly why im here rn bro
I completely ignored the “speed” and assumed you had to set the polarity/frequency by yourself. Turns out that wasn’t the case and I had them going full spasm for a good while lol
OH its the RED angle the compass uses to point to the satellite. OH NO
Question about the *radio* : Do you put the MP3 files in the Online.txt document under the radio folder? And also, what are ways that I can put an MP3 file in there(Do I just drag an MP3 file to the Online.txt(if that’s where I put it) from my Music file)?
You only have to put the .mp3 files in the folder where Online.txt is stored, no editing of the .txt is required. I believe Online.txt is for using web links to play music, but I have not tested it and do not know how it works.
i! is there a way to put an item that you are holding back in your inventory? Currently I am just placing it on the ground and collecting it again
At 3:56, it is explained that pressing "R" while holding an object will place it directly into your inventory.
How do i pull stuff with the hook
I have a question, about downloading, which upgrade makes the second green percentage (downloaded) go up faster?
The upgrade that makes the Downloaded percentage tick up faster is the "Download_Speed" upgrade.
@@AlphaSatanOmega thanks for telling me, do you also know how i can locate a transformer? i got stuck in a part because the transformer broke, or do you have any videos about it
@@gpedrox3363 I have not played much of the 0.6 update, so I'm not sure on pinpointing which Transformer(s) is down. However, if you follow the powerlines from the base to the shacks they connect to, you'll find the transformers inside. Press the button on them to restart the transformer.
@@gpedrox3363 In addition to following the powerlines, you can also target the transformers directly, though the game doesn't tell you this. You can target them with sv.target just like the dishes. ex. "sv.target TR_0", "sv.target TR_1", "sv.target TR_2". Very handy because often the route which the power lines lead isn't direct.
How do you increase downloading speed and upgrading speed of disks?
If you're talking about the signals, you can upgrade the downloading and upgrading speeds of them in the "Upgrades" tab of the main computer. There's a scrollbar on the right you can click and drag down to see those 2 upgrades.
How do I find the folder for music for the radio? I just cannot find it anywhere, and when I find something, it just says that I just have to find the music/radio folder... but I cannot find it... pls help...
The music folder for the radio is located at the file path: C:\Users\[YOUR USERNAME HERE ]\AppData\Local\VotV\Assets adio There you can put .mp3 files in that folder, restart the game, and they should be available to play on the radio in game.
@@AlphaSatanOmega thx, i couldnt find it... thought it was in the VoTV file, like for the game, not the appdata folder... thx again
This game sounds fun, but the signal downloading computer seems quite the headache, i tried everything, changinging polarity type, changing frequency and polarity by +1 all the way, but that percentage just dont wanna move at all
For Polarity, you need to stop the polarity line at a certain angle on the circle. Imagine there is an invisible notch somewhere around the circle, you need to find and point the spinning line at this invisible notch, when the line is close to pointing at this invisible notch, the yellow "Output Data" percentage will approach 100%, indicating you are pointing the line at the correct angle. You always need to set the offset's speed back to 0 because that stops the line from spinning. The higher the offset speed number, the faster the line spins. You can make the offset speed negative too to spin the line counter clockwise. If the line has spun all the way around the circle, and the Output Data percentage still isn't changing, try changing the Polarity using the "Change Polarity" button, which cycles between 3 modes: Left, Linear, and Right. The Change Polarity button is the very far left knob on the control panel. For Frequency, focus on making line as wavy as possible, also bringing its Output Data percentage to 100%. The Frequency dials also control the offset speed, which is limited between 0 and 1000. You need to find the number between 0 and 1000 that gets the Output Data percentage closest to 100% and stop it there, setting the offset speed to 0. I hope this helps.
can u do an updated version pls
While i was going to tango for the last part of the report I spotted an weird pink/purple orb by the fence and it went into the fence and vanished
I still don't understand the polarity. :/ I don't get how you pick where to stop the polarity, is it always at zero or like a specific angle..? I feel stupid but I don't get it, I've gotten waves for frequency, but I can't figure out how to get the percent to go up on polarity, feels like no matter where I set it or at what filter offset I get the percent never goes up. Also I know this is the old tutorial, but still like I don't see the polarity button in the video in the new one to switch between linear or whatever. I'm so confused lol. I tried searching the comments but I still don't get it. Id appreciate any tips anybody has. Also I like keep getting knocked down while I'm in the middle of the signal area while I'm trying to figure it out and it's very annoying and I don't understand why. This tutorial mode is incredibly frustrating It's just spamming you with knowledge instead of an actual natural tutorial. I get the game in general is complicated, but still. Sorry, I'm just ranting now.

You must find a real food item around the base or buy them from the shop. Then press Alt+E on the food item to take a bite out of it, repeat until your hunger is filled or the food item is used up.

hey i cant figure out where and how do you get the laptop, and also, can you grab/move it?
The laptop was visually replaced by a tower PC in v0.6.0, they function identically. The laptop was not movable in v0.5.2 or earlier.
for whatever reason I cant seem to change frequency or polarity, is there something im missing?
First make sure you have an active signal obtained from the coordinates computer. After the dishes rotate, the signal will show up on the downloading computer. Secondly, make sure you turn on the toggle buttons for the Frequency and Polarity, only then can you change their offsets. In this video they're blue buttons, but in the newer versions they changed appearance. They now appear as buttons with red glowing lights when off, and will changed to green when turned on.
My potato PC can't run this so I consume any content about this facsinating game)
Frequency and polarity don't change at all, not even when I turn them on and mess with the buttons. Nothing happens. I'm confused as to how to scan the signal too.
You need to scan a signal first to be able to download it. To scan a signal, use your arrow keys to move the crosshair throughout the star map. Press the Shift key to scan for signals, this will show you the direction and closeness from the crosshair of all available signals. You then must move your crosshair in the direction of one of these arrows until you find the signal, which is a small white circle that continuously ripples outwards a small distance. Place the center of the crosshair at the center of where this circle is originating from, then press the spacebar. This will ping the signal, after a moment, the text at the bottom may change to say something like "successful ping". There is a chance that the ping will fail. If the text says "error", then the signal is lost and you must repeat finding another signal to ping until it successfully pings. Only then, once the satellite dishes rotate into place, can you move on to the Downloading Computer.
Frequency refuses to move no matter what speed i set and then it jumps to 100 for a split second, but when i return the speed to value when it jumped, it still doesn't move. 🤷🏻
You need to return the speed value to 0. If the speed is not 0, that means it's moving and will continue to mode. If you're trying to reach 100%, you need to reverse the speed to a negative value to go backwards. Then when you're approaching 100%, set the speed back to 0 and repeat this process until you reach 100%.
I cant for the life of me figure out how to turn back on the power back on in this game.
In the base, on the right side of the main room, there is a large power block in the wall, it has several switches to flip the power on and off for different systems. Flip the switches to turn them back on. Also, the most recent update introduced a power system, in which there are 3 generators around the map you have to go around and press the button on them to restart them if they are down.
how do i restart the servers in voices of the void? if i get a "the end is near" signal i dont want to lose my save file
There is no way to restart the servers in game, nor would this remedy getting that signal. If you do happen to get that signal, delete all copies of the signal with the drive eraser near the power switches in the Base. If you do not do it by the next day, you can load from your last save point and try again.
@@AlphaSatanOmega I erase the signal, and thats it? Erase *everything* on the driver aswell? Also, doesnt the signal delete the save file?
@@toxinketchup Yes, just erase/delete all copies of the signal, and you should be safe. Unless it's been changed in recent updates, it will not delete your save file.
@@AlphaSatanOmega thanks (so much)
You forgot to tell how to open the game I alredy have dowload the files but when I open it it just opens the folder not the game
The video was designed to be a gameplay guide, not an installation guide. You have to extract the .7z file it comes in by right clicking it and pressing a button that should say something like "Extract all". Once extracted, you will find the "VotV.exe" inside of the "WindowsNoEditor" folder.
The server minigame gives me a headache im just confused how to even do this I keep getting it wrong somehow
You must go row by row, completing the equation highlighted by the purple rectangle. You must select the correct number that the calculation would result in. For equations that would equal a number between 0-9, like 1+3 = 4, just press 4. If the result of the equation would equal 10 or greater, just take the 2nd digit of the result, like 7+5=12, just press 2. If the result of the equation would equal a negative number, ignore the negative sign and just select the number; like 3-5= -2, just press 2.
So its exactly like Signal Simulator then?
Since Signal Simulator ceased development, the developer of Voices of the Void took it upon themselves to make a successor.
For some reason the hashcode is nkt working. Every time i goto a sattilite and do the sv.hash it shows the word hashcode and nothing else
This may be due to you attempting to get the hashcode for a satellite dishes on the first day. During the first day, there will be no hashcodes assigned to the satellite dishes yet. Otherwise if you are past the first day and are required to get hashcodes, try waiting until the next day, the game may have encountered a bug if you restarted the game at any point, and the hashcodes were erased. I hope this helps.
what should I do when my sleep stat doesn't go above 20?
I'm not sure. I know the game has had a recent large update. I suggest trying to fill up your food meter, or maybe restarting the game. That could be a bug.
how do you get in the base i cant find the password
When walking up the stairs to the base's entrance, there should be a sheet of paper laying about on the railing next to the door which contains the password. However, the base's default password is always "1111".

what do i need to do. i ping, setup the filters, wait 1000 years so itll download, save, load it into a drive, and then it says that theres nothing on the drive and i get 5 points and i cant buy anything with it💀
Make sure that the drives you are sending have a Green light, and not a red or yellow one. Only Green are send-able for points. Additionally, you must send the correct amount of drives of the requested level, detailed by the latest "Daily Task" email that you receive every day at midnight. For example, the daily task may ask for "3 drives of level 0", you will need to send at least 3 drives of Signal level 0 in your package. You also need to make sure you send your package with at least about 2 hours left before midnight, as it will take time for the drone to pickup and return the package. If you are too late, you will have failed the daily task and not receive the full amount of points for your package. Lastly, it should be noted that there are many flavour text emails that are sent alongside the confirmation of your package being received. One such one will say something along the lines of "There is no data on the drives". There is actually no problem with the drives you sent, and this can be ignored; This just implies an unsettling story element that somehow the drives lost their data while being sent.
Even with this guide, I simply can't get the hang of that signal downloading computer. The controls are so wonky for me and I just can't seem to wrap my head around even beginning to control that polarity and frequency filter. I click E and use my scroll wheel all over those knobs but the numbers always just jump all over the place with no rhyme or reason, and once that polarity spinny radar line starts spinning, I can't get it to stop or do anything I want it to do. The controls for this are so wonky. I can't even figure it out with all the tutorials in the world. And to make matters worse, now, when you hover your mouse over that panel, there's just this box that appears over the panel too click on and I can't even tell what knobs I'm clicking on. I'll have my mouse on one knob but it will seem to be adjusting the knob under or over it. The game is dimly lit and low textured, and my monitor isn't very bright and is rather dark as well. so that adds to the problem. And since there's no visual feedback on them, I can't tell at all what increments I'm adjusting by moving my mouse wheel. I really want to like this game.. but.. I can't seem to really understand how step two even works.
The knobs are incremental with 3 different values. You increment or decrement the speed using these knobs. So if you hold e on the +5 knob for example, and scroll up twice, you will be at 10 speed. Therefore, you need to scroll down twice to go back to 0 speed. To go backwards, you'd scroll down from 0 speed to make the speed negative. With the polarity knob you simply have to press e on it, not hold it. It will switch between the 3 states. Every time you switch it, look back up at the spinning polarity filter, and look for if at a certain rotation, the "output data" % number is changing. If it goes all the way around and doesn't change, switch the polarity filter to the next option, and repeat. In the options menu, under the "Render" tab you can turn up the gamma, that should make it easier to see things. I do agree the box that appears over panels that they implemented in the latest update is quite annoying, as it extends past the bounds of the screen and moves around too much. I hope that I helped clarify some things.
Lost cause
It's not working. One little movement of my mouse, even when it's on the lowest dial is sending the frequencies flying out of control and I can never get the things to stop moving. I just tried for two hours based on what I watched here, and your advise. I can't get it to work at all.
It shows frequency only for 1 second and i cant save a signal using the yellow button, what am i doing wrong?
I do not quite understand the problem you are facing with regards to the "frequency only showing for 1 second". Could you please be more clear? If the signal is not saving, it could be that you have not yet fully downloaded the signal. You must wait until the yellow "Downloaded" percentage is at 100%.
@@AlphaSatanOmega the frequency quickly jumps at 20% or 30%, before going down again.
@@toxinketchup the frequency seems to have a variable range of what's considered close to the right value. Sometimes this range can be narrow, so you can quickly speed past it when you are increasing or decreasing your filter speed. Once you notice it jump, reset your speed to 0, then in smaller increments, set your speed to the opposite direction so you slowly approach the offset value.
@@AlphaSatanOmega ok but,, i cant save signal
@@toxinketchup Did you wait until borh Detector Status and Downloaded have reached 100%? What happens when you press the Save Signal button? The saved signal gets sent to the bottom of your saved signals list on the Playing Computer, so you may have to scroll down past the to see it. That or your saved signals list is scrolled too far down past where you can see the save signals, so you have to scroll back up.
how can you read the papers?
Since version 0.6.0, the controls have changed slightly. If the paper is on a surface, look at it and you can use your scroll wheel to scroll down to "Use", then press "E" to read it. If you are holding the paper in your hand, press right click to read it.
@@AlphaSatanOmega thanks
I almost believed that I somehow broke this game. when I come to the satellite, I enter sv.hash, and after the word "Hashcode" there is no hashcode itself, I do not understand what is wrong. But I liked the game so much that I'll probably just turn off the penalties and continue playing without this mechanic.
I believe during the first day, all Satellites will not have a hashcode to show. Instead, try waiting for the next day and try again at a satellite. Otherwise, I do not know what would cause your game to not print out the hashcodes.
How can i setup tv?
I do not have much experience with the TV in game all that much. As far as I know, it does not accept web links to videos, rather you must point it to the path of a video file locally stored in your actual computer. An example would be: C:\Users\...\Videos\videotoplay.mp4
but how can i point it to the path@@AlphaSatanOmega

I can't remember but isn't there a parkour mechanic in movement now? anyone help me plz.
There does not seem to be any sort of parkour mechanic in the game to my knowledge. Using the run, jump, and crouch mechanics can get you into hard to reach places.
I apologize, it seems I was mistaken. There does seem to be a climbing mechanic in the game now. I did not know about it since I have not kept up with the recent updates, until I did some testing to see if this was indeed a feature. To use the climb mechanic double tap your spacebar while in front of a ledge. For a ledge to be climbable, it cannot be much taller than the view point of the character.

Also be careful deleting saved tapes in the PC. It will delete the wrong one sometimes, even if not selected with blue outline.
