Michael Dezer (USA) restored the longest car ever after buying it at an auction. The original car was used in movies and at displays and now, after two years of restoration, the car is back to full health. With a hot tub, a helipad and room for up to 75 passengers, this car measures at just over 100 feet long!
You can view the car on display at Dezerland Park Orlando, Florida.

    @ross9580@ross95802 жыл бұрын
    • my thoughts exactly

      @zachbrown1630@zachbrown16302 жыл бұрын
    • The rear part is essentially a trailer, so the vehicle can bend there or be split into two parts. What's probably more of a problem is getting high centered. You couldn't drive it across an intersection if the roadway has a decent crown to it.

      @buckykattnj@buckykattnj2 жыл бұрын
    • @@buckykattnj It can be split into two parts for transportation but definitely doesn't articulate like a trailer or bus. If it did it would also solve the high center scenario you mentioned. I thought of that as well during turning. Depending on the terrain, either the middle or rear wheels will seriously scrub in a turn. Unbelievably poor design. Another poster commented the original had a second steering setup in the back for another operator. That made sense for functionality, limited as it might be, but was apparently eliminated in the rebuild.

      @ross9580@ross95802 жыл бұрын
    • @@ross9580 I'm referring to getting high centered between the first wheels and the middle wheels, which is one part. I'm not privy to having the blueprints, so I'm not certain exactly how it works, but there are pictures of it articulated on the internet and other videos where the builders describe it to be like a trailer. I'll admit that if the back is a trailer, it's not really ONE full vehicle to me, but Guinness is somewhat inconsistent in how they determine records. If you have info showing exactly how it's connected, please pass it on to me. I'm very curious.

  • I remember seeing this limo in the 1991 edition of the Guinness Book of World Records as a kid. Then as a teenager I spotted it parked outside a beachwear store in Myrtle Beach some time in the early 2000s. It was already in sad shape back then. It was painted battleship gray and sagging in the middle. It looked sad next to that crudely-sculpted shark. I'm happy to see it restored to its original condition.

    • Our family also saw it outside that beachware shop next to the Shark at the time. It was in sad shape - with dents and flat tires. Then it disappeared, left to rot somewhere. I am not only amazed at the restoration, but also the fact it can be driven. Getting the V8 engines to work together along with installing all the transmissions - what a challenge.

  • Looks great compared to what it was before, I guess, but the problem with a car this length, are the visible ripples along the sides, which make the panels look warped and damaged. If you look at the underside, it is more apparent. It's a shame because the original car had the same flaws too which you can still see in some photos, but I just assumed these guys would do a better job. Also seeing a hollow shell when they stated it was going to have a full interior is disappointing. Don't get me wrong, the car looks great compared to how they found it, but after following whole the build on Tiktok and this being the end result, it almost feels like they rushed to finish it, cutting corners and not applying the expertise and craftsmanship the car deserved. I mean I can only speak for myself and I think most people will look at it and think it is beautiful, but I also think some will be heavily critical of the final result.
