Technically everything alive reacts to stimuli, but that doesn't mean the dog had any strong feelings about the human woman. He probably couldn't even understand that she was "in trouble" which is what the title implies. Remember, he's a dog. When we start overanthropomorphizing animals, that will get US into trouble.   • I had a cat one time that would literally watch wildlife video's for hours. She would go to the TV and try to get inside when kittens were crying.

    • We used to leave snooker championships competitions on (they were an all day thing) for a cat we had when I was a kid. He'd get super involved and being a longhair would have to take the trade off with eventually going for a pat of a ball and the static on a CRT.
