Have a great Sunday, everyone!
I can't believe how cool some of these rooms are!!!
Haha i know right
Another great video ! As nice as some of the more modern rooms are, I think I would actually prefer the older buildings just to get the full classic Oxford experience.
Fair play!
same
Omg Sam I love this video. I was really hoping for your room tour . And it's amazing 😭 thanku for this
Thanks for watching!
Your video came up on my screen and I decided to watch it. I am glad I did. You gave me a really good laugh when you answered the door. lol! You have a great sense of humor. Thank you, Jeff
Thanks so much, lovely comment to receive :)
Thank you Sam for this video. I am inspired to come and study there.
"Oh, I've got a on, I just went for dinner" This. This is why I want to go to this school.
You were having a boost. I checked if the video was playing at 1.5x 😂 lots of energy ☺️
Hahaha oh dear
First video filmed on a GoPro! Plenty to learn for next time (promise I normally know how to light a subject) xoxo Anyways, how was your weekend?! - mine was busy with exciting plans (hence an evening not morning upload!)
please use a normal setting next time instead of the180
Fairs
Oh my gosh yes!! This is so helpful - thank you!
Glad you think so!
My daughter is applying to trinity next year, she chose it because you seem not lonely at all, so many friends :)
I wish her the best of luck! Which subject?
Thanks for this video/vlog that let me learn more about some different types and designs of rooms at Oxford. Some designs are my favourite, especially upstairs and bookshelves on the ceilings. As an International A Level student, I am watching this to learn more about the universities I want to go to, including accommodation, design and infrastructure.
Glad you enjoyed :) best of luck!
ooo i love the room with the bed upstairs!
Nice right
This is so cool! It's a beautiful university:)
Thank you :))
Thank you so much for making this very informative video.
This was so informative thank you sam!
Thank you Clementine
it looks so quiet and peaceful on the campus grounds
:)
loving the mini ffridge! i wish i had one too, communal kitchens- everyone drank my milk ! lol
:)
Do we pick our dorm type, or do the university pick it for us?
6:25 i lovee this room, very spacious and has a really pretty view :)
Hi Sam, great video - just wondering what camera are you using? Thanks!
Gosh you're living in my old staircase 5 room. Still a bitter about how small it was compared to the opposite room. I wonder if they cleaned the doodle of "The Scream" off the pinboard
Haha that's so funny and they definitely don't clean the pinboards 🤣
Best one for me was the third one , feels like home .
Fairs!
Woah this is so cool
Glad to hear, thanks :)
Oh my gosh. Your room is very similar to mine, except mine has an ensuite. Basic, but it does the job fine. The 'Levine Rooms' (if that's how you say it are ridiculous: literally looks like 4 star hotel...
I know they really are crazy
do you hire out the gown or buy 1 that you wear to everything? also the fish eye view is cool
You buy one!
How much the room rent costs for a month? Also, are these rooms provided by university or private hostel facilities ?
You travel in a good day
Hi ! I will be going to Oxford very soon as a visiting student. Do you have any tips for finding accommodation ?
Best of luck with emailing the colleges!
Just asking btw do they do subjects of interior design/ interior architecture and how easy is it to get a offer for them like how much % of the acceptance rate❤ love this channel😊
Don't think they do unfortunately
@@Sam.Kramer ok 🤗
I feel like a fly with the curved camera angle!
Hahaha so fair, the fisheye-ness of the GoPro is something I'll fix next time 😅 makes the shot super wide tho, hopefully doesn't make it unwatchable
@@Sam.Kramer nope, views still amazing! Espc the buildings!
lol!
Super!!!😊😊😊
I hve one doubt the rooms u r showing do they have seperate kitchen or not
Are the university rooms really like this?
amazing university
Thank you!
is it that curvy in real life? i’m vistin soon and i wanna know if it’s accurate xx
the desk in your room quite close to the door- that could get noisy! i always preferred libraries too
Haha
can i keep my marshall cabinet guitar amps in the room ?
Can I choose if I need participate my room with some one or not ?
are there any rooms that have multiple people in them?
Do you find not having an ensuite much of an inconvenience? How much more does it cost to have an ensuite?
It will cost more to have one
Some colleges pay in bands, some everyone pays the same and it is random! Ours is the latter :)
How can we choose our own rooms? First it's ap difficult to choose a college with all what we want in the first place😅 and then deciding upon accommodation!?! International students don't even have any connections to advise them on these kind of unofficial stuff...
You mostly don't choose, allocated at random
when do we find out about room allocations for freshers
Defo after a level results and places confirmed, probs early Sept?
lam looking for master degree but l can't go over there becouse l have reasons forbidten go there .
ive never heard of a wardrobe sink
You met Ali!
I did haha where did you find out (video about it tomoz maybe)
@@Sam.Kramer I thought I recognised you and drew the two together... in his vlogs where he visited the Uni. Yes you defo should!
Haha wow committed fan for even watching the vlogs channel! Yes I might have to tell the story 👀
Should we shave our beard if we are in the oxford?
No you can keep it
Nice
Thanks!
are you studying for undergrad ?
😂 she is sitting like spirit in Conjuring..i would be scared to death if i saw someone like that in the middle of migt
My son finished dentistry college can you helping him to get bachalors scholar ship in general medicin
What help are you looking for
@@Sam.Kramer he is try to study bachalors of medecin in this strong university by getting scĥolarship
is OXford close to cambridge?
Hour or two drive
Each type of dormitory is different amount right?
In trinity everyone pays the same actually and gets a room randomly
literally any of these would be considered double or triple rooms in the usa😭 esp the one with the red carpet! an american uni would try to squeeze four people into it!
Haha interesting to know, I know you like with others in same room but don't know much more
@@Sam.Kramer yes! my roommate and i are in a ~17 square meter room (prison cell). some unis' dorms have sinks, but unfortunately none of the doubles do unless you've got a suite (which comes with a lavatory and *potentially* a kitchenette) ((which is also pretty rare, because they like to put four students in a suite)).
trinity is a college in dublin here :)
Always comes up first on Google
how many years at oxford do u do?
I have 4
did you say 30 was a THIRD of the year ?:0
Yes, for our college at least
Man lives in a fishbowl!
Funny as we acc call one library room the fishbowl - double entendre
Anyone know why there's always a mirror in a lift?
Lol feels less claustrophobic then I suppose
@@Sam.Kramer Could be . . .
where’d the camera man go 😢
One thing I've noticed about Oxford students is that they literally never smile. They always walk around with hateful, scowling expressions on their faces. Really gives you an impression as to the type of people they are.
Are you an undergrad
I look at the Oxford and I think that universities tear young people away from reality, and that it is impossible to return to reality after university illusions. As a result, few people in the world are capable of solving the problems that have accumulated before humanity. The best teacher is life itself. Philosophers, historians, lawyers and journalists must work in seven different businesses, communicate with a wide range of people and learn a living and practical psychology. Academic psychology is only suitable for intellectual narcissists to entertain their peers over cups of coffee. A practicing intellectual person does not need forty subjects studied in universities, but much less. So you need to come to the university once a year for a week or two not only to take a small number of exams (one exam per year), but above all to communicate with intelligent people who help to systematize the experience gained during discussions. . It is necessary to implement the principle of Socrates: it is not necessary to put ready-made theories in a person's brain, but to let theories be born in his brain. So we do not need conferences, but debates on questions from real life. And to have food for discussion, you have to immerse yourself in real life, and not be in an artificial university environm.
do many freshers live off campus?
No, almost all have to live in their college accom
How many pounds will a room cost in a year?
Around 1500 / term which is 9 weeks
Nice I am from India but my dream is study at Oxford University
Best of luck!
Why there is a difference between rooms....is this independent on the cost you paid? Excuse me my English need more improvement
It’s a shame they look so incredible outside and so basic inside :( they should have kept the interiors like they did in the library
Haha maybe
Can you pay extra for better rooms?
Not at Trinity, other colleges yes
@@Sam.Kramer Perfect, thanks. Do you have twitter? Would be great to get in contact as I'm applying at the end of this year.
Samkrameryt on insta is the best place
How are rooms allocated?
Random every year and everyone pays same too!
id say some of those rooms are so pricey
Everyone pays the same ingwtestingly!
I think mit have better rooms(I am from mit)
This is a bit disappointing. I thought the bedrooms would be like in the Harry Potter films.
Hii, I am Ashmita Chakraborty from India. I wish to apply to Oxford University after my Bachelor's (which I'm presently persuing). I have a few queries, Can you help me with them? Is it possible to contact you by any means?
10:30 when you said that they give the good rooms to postgrads I laughed because it’s pretty much always the exact opposite 🥲 postgrads get the crap off site accomm far away from the college usually!
This is a bit disappointing for a University that is ranked in the top 5 and sometimes #1. I studied in France, at Universite' Grenoble Alpes, and my room had its own bathroom, a bigger fridge, and a nice desk next to a window looking towards trees and magnificent mountains.
Ranked top 5 for academics not lifestyle!
@@Sam.Kramer You obviously don't get my point. An academic institution of that prestige must make sure they offer a top-quality life to its students. It involves everything, residences, healthcare, resource access, etc. College life is not just about courses and research. We are talking about Oxford here, not some peripherical university.
