Acura Integra Type S | Factory, Dyno, Street and Track Drive

2024 ж. 17 Мам.
442 418 Рет қаралды

We review and test the new 2024 Acura Integra Type S. First, we show the differences between Civic Type R on the Dyno, drive on the street, and track. Then we discuss the story behind the creation of this American-made hot hatch. Finally, we street and track drive the car to see if the changes made this car better. Others to consider are FL5 Type R, GR Corolla, Golf R, and Elantra N.

      @BlueSkyCrystals@BlueSkyCrystals11 ай бұрын
    • @paulvicks1336 price didn't kill the RS. They were never offered with incentives from Ford. All of them sold, many with dealer markup, and very few with dealer discounts. Those that were discounted by dealers were mostly from dealerships that had sat on them with crazy markups for a long time while later model years became available or other dealerships charged less markup. None of this would have been the case if Ford had priced the RS poorly. The RS isn't from Michigan. It was designed primarily in Europe, and assembled in Germany. It was imported from Germany, and has a German VIN. The RS, like those before it, was a planned 3 year production run from the beginning. Perhaps the limited production for the final model year was a result of the use of the improper head gasket in prior year's production, though.

If you’re a parent who wants something that is more practical than a coupe and costs less than $70k, this seems like a solid choice. Mark ups aren’t palatable to me, but when you don’t have a lot of choices that are new, shopping for a dealer that will be more fair is critical.

But I think there will be those that will pay that for this car given the heritage and they want a car more refined than the CTR. But to have dealers tack on $15k to $20k further crowds out the buyer pool who would pay $55k. Then the manufacturers stop making them because sales were dismal. The dealers are literally bottlenecking the manufacturers' new car sales. They already make plenty of money already with the invoice-MSRP and financing spreads.

But it never separated the fact that Honda/Acura simply builds spectacular cars who generates a strong and true fanbase. I appreciate your particular POV and dedication to providing something much more engaging than the run of the mill. And the car of course, did not expect it to be anything more than a CTR with an acura badge...clearly I was very wrong lol.

Another thorough no BS review with tech and driving portions - you are the very best at what you do - keep up the good work! For my 2 cents I think they did a great job on this car and the price is just what it is these days... hopefully markups don't get too out of hand....

  • I understand you are trying to be respectful to the Acura Rep but if you just end up agreeing with all his points and not ask actual hard questions, how are you any different from any other youtube channel who does the same thing and comply and agree with the reps? I think there can be a middle ground of being respectful but also being able to ask hard questions because all the things the Acura Rep said were just basically avoiding all of the consumers real questions. Mainly, the price doesn't make sense. The demographic target of buyers of what the Integra was for before and now is completely different and just disappointing. Overall, you bring out great content but just a bit disappointed in keeping reps honest.

    @8cylinders257@8cylinders25711 ай бұрын
    • Agreed. I was thinking the same thing. They probably were not allowed to bring up certain things. To NOT touch on the price of this thing is crazy. It's most likely the #1 talked about thing right now.

      @vdlion717@vdlion71711 ай бұрын
    • @@vdlion717 Yeah I agree. The price of the ITS is in range of someone who needs to make 6 figures at the minimum for it to be a financially responsible buy. They completely missed the mark for what this car is and who it's for and to praise Acura for this seems wrong imo. In his conclusion, he mentions if you want the old cars, you go buy them. I understand the cars won't be as small or light as before because of safety etc, but where you can't change the size or weight, you can at least make it accessible for the younger enthusiast who have a lighter wallet but at 52k it's not. The GR86 is a great example of a car done right with the price done right. The ITS should not be remotely close to the demographic of BMW M240/M2 owners. It never was and it never should be. In Summary, if this ITS doesn't embody anything of the old ITS, then don't call it an Integra. Give it a completely different model name. But using "Integra" to get back enthusiast when it doesn't embody anything of the old is just a scam. I guess making something FWD and an Integra name plate is all it takes to be an Integra. Not a single REAL criticism remark from SG. Just some light remarks here and there that doesn't highlight the real issues so the reps keep coming back for more content. But that's how all youtuber reviews are coming too, not just SG. Only a few real ones left, Jason Cammisa, Chris Harris etc.

  • They weren't common because they limited their production even back in the 90's and early 00's. So people couldn't get their hands on them easily even back then. So don't tell us "the market" didn't want these cars, or that a 2-door version of an Integra wouldn't sell out in the current market. I could barely get my hands on a 2020 Honda Si Coupe when I was shopping around for it. The dealers in my area (eastern PA) had none, and had to order one for me.
