He's obviously very proud of Mar-a-Lago and who wouldn't be; Its an architectural masterpiece. But the opulence reminds me of dictators and autocrats where the appearance of wealth are much more important than people or principles. Not a good look for a president or former president of the US.
Interesting story behind Mar-a-Largo. It was build in the 1920's by Marjorie Meriweather Post, heir to the Post Cereal fortune. She spent an estimated 100+ million (in todays dollars) to build it. In the 1970's Post donated the property to the government along with a trust fund to maintain it. It was envisioned to become the southern White House. But presidents did not use it and it was expensive to maintain. So the government gave it back to the Post Foundation in the 1980's. By the early 2000's it was listed for sale at 20 million plus. Chump offered 15 million and was turned down. Chump then used his usual slimeball tactics and purchased the property between it and the ocean for 2 million and threatened to build high rise buildings and block the ocean view. Eventually Chump purchased Mar-a-Largo for about 7-8 million from the Post Foundation.

We drive onto Palm Beach and are stopped by police outside Mar A Lago and asked where we were going? I said we were going to see the Winter White House. He pointed behind himself and said "It's right here ma'am" I said 'NO we are going to see the REAL Winter White House. The one at 1095 North Ocean Blvd. President Kennedys House!" He laughed his head off and pointed north!!
