The Inspiration behind this video:
While it would have been interesting to see Reeves become part of the DCU as Constantine, it is better for both the new DC Universe and Constantine 2 that the movie is an Elseworlds project. This way, the DCU can get its own comic book-accurate version of John Constantine in the future, perhaps starting with a role in the upcoming Swamp Thing before a full-fledged Justice League Dark film. On the other hand, by not being part of the DCU, Constantine 2 has a lot more creative freedom.
Not taking place in the DCU also presents an exciting challenge for the movie, as Gunn raised the bar for Constantine 2. The DC Studios co-CEO has revealed that movies developed under the Elseworlds label will need to be really good to get made, with a quality bar higher than the one used to greenlight DCU projects. Based on that, Lawrence, Reeves, and Constantine 2 scribe Akiva Goldsman will have to come up with a unique tale for the movie to make it to screens, which raises excitement for the long-awaited sequel.

  • So glad this is fan made and not the real trailer. While it's good for fan made, I would want a less generic story-line than the gates of hell opening and letting everything in. That was sort of the story-line for Constantine 1. I hope 2 will be a lot different and story-driven rather than special-effects driven.

  • @Screenculture I should warn u to put "Fan-made" somewhere in the title of this video to evade legal bindings, because if not, Warner Bros can sue u since u've taken their name in title & "suggested/mislead" this is the official trailer (which is not) in the company's name. Unless u have legal consent from said distributor or company. They can sue u for infringement of copyrights or defamation depending on how u've used their assets (clips of other movies). In your Title nor within any fields user descriptions show the ownership of this video nor clarification u had borrow their assets (copyright infringement) to suggest claims that Warner Bros NEVER did (defamation). Been warned.

  • Hey you’re taking scenes from the movie the last which Hunter with vin Diesel, perhaps you can get together with Tilda, Swinton and Keanu Reeves and get started on a sequel to a second Constantine movie, however, Warner Brothers hasn’t released any new idea pitch for a second Constantine movie for a very long time and chances are I don’t think they’re going to come out with another one.

  • I was about to say if this was real based on the trailer I would not care to see it. If they make a new one it has to be on the same level as the first movie. Not some wild flashy mess. The acting is what made the first so good. There has to be some deep internal stuff happening with him along with whatever else is going on. It can’t just be some flashy mess.
