  • John Randle was a VOLCANIC football player, who utalised being "short" to the absolute fullest. Being 6ft 1', he used his lower attacking point to destroy linemen from the bottom up on a weekly basis.

  • I firmly believe that Randle was the first ideal 3TECH/UT that guys like Dungy, Angelo, & L.Smith studied as a means to build their entire TAMPA 2 defensive scheme around for their base 4-3 seven man zone defense.

  • buddy of mine was friends with Todd Bouman who was a backup QB for the vikes from 97-01 when I lived there. After home games on Sunday night we went out in Mpls with a ton of the players. Randle was a freaking great and fun guy to hang out with. bar bills at times were 10 to 20K and players(my measily 200 bucks) were all split up. it was fun times.

  • The NFL tends to judge a player by all the physical traits they have but that doesn't judge a persons heart. John Randle was 260 lbs. of heart. Always good to see guys like Randle and another Viking Adam Thielen come from small programs undrafted with a great work ethic succeed.

  • One of my favorite statements. Regulators Mount up. Famous line from me wonderful movie. And John Randall was the leader of those Regulators in Minnesota. John Randle, Lawrence Taylor, and Ray Lewis but fear into the hearts of the offensive coordinators and quarterbacks, and possibly some running backs.
