  • Nick, I'm a massive fan of your readings, and feel you're the best on the net for J and W. I enjoy some of your work nearly daily. But this one didn't make it for me, because maybe you didn't realise that the songs that George sings are actual songs, well known in their time, with very distinctive melodies. My grandfather sang them to the cows when milking, and my mother still sung them when i was growing up. They were popular radio numbers. You wouldn't consider re-recording this with the authentic tunes, would you? I bet they'll be on the net, and the names are easily guessed from the key lines.

    • @@rebeccabedford9855I knew all of those songs. It’s so funny how you assume you know so much more than anyone else. 😂😂😂 And no, playing the actual songs instead of having George sing them, would NOT have been better. The point is that HIM singing them made him able to speak without stammering. When you have your own channel you can do it your way. Until them STFU and just say thank you.

    • I have read this story to my gifted students over many years, and I’m old enough to know all the songs except for the one about “I Have a Nice Thermos-“ Can anyone identify that one for me?

    • Hobgoblin, is it "the Thermos song" on KZhead?

  • KZhead has lots of versions of "Tea for two" including by folk like Frank Sinatra and Doris Day. But my fave is Ella Fitzgerald. Fun!

  • I live Wodehouse - it would have been good if the narrator had learned the popular Melodie’s of the songs he sang to the wrong tunes

    • Agree but unfortunately quite impossible as this narrator is totally tone deaf. Luckily the specialist also had a sensitive ear and shut him up pronto!
