Ofcourse, the man's been obsessed with mastering and learning every aspect of pure unarmed combat ever since he started. McGregor on his way to his desired goals before accomplishments was a tornado passing and only slacked off after he accomplished those goals he'd set, but again refocused after a huge loss to arguably the best lightweight of our time and realised what uncommitted work lead to, fast forward and here we're with that same berserk McGregor about to scrap with Dustin, this time at 155, both fighters are waaaay different and improved. This fight is gonna be a striking masterpiece.
@grimmywizard3 жыл бұрын
@@grimmywizard to me he looks done, lacks hunger, unable to go through the trenches anymore. 100 plus mil in one fight, the cheques from the other fight, whiskey money sponsor money, lord knows what other enterprises and endeavours. Its hard to get through the trenches, weather storms and come back now. In Diaz 2 he had something to prove so he did it, there was still hunger, will to win and demons to conquer. That time will never return now. The Khabib mauling is PTSD worthy after all the shit talk getting humbled like that, and the Dustin fight just showed the post 2017 and beyond trajectory of both men fighting wise. Dustin keeps levelling up, ate his best shots and butchered him. Conor is now the type to roll over after some calf kicks and a couple hooks. To me he looked weak. 5 years ago he would have found a way in that fight. He just looked like he rolled over. Ye the leg was done and the technique is deadly and blah blah blah, warrior spirit i Doesn't come easy for a rich man.. remember that. The game in general has levelled up now, conor just isn't as hungry, consistent or venomous in the octagon anymore. Conors career needs a reset. We know longer need to see Connor roll in to big fights against the top lightweights. The best cure for Connor is to go back to that karate type in and out fluid stance, start by fighting someone way down the rankings and out of the top 10. 2 more fights in the top 10, then get in with a top guy mid to late 2022 then maybe a belt if he's good enough. Activity and victories build confidence, create the killer instinct again.. even if they're against lesser guys. Its doable, fighters have these renaissance periods. But one unchangeable factor is that the money in the bank inevitably lessens desire.

Even though I'm German I really dont like Siver (hes russian btw lol) but the translation was just wrong, he was very calm and I think that the UFC wanted to bring some heat in it. He never said that McGregor is a bad fighter.
@alexandernordic85513 жыл бұрын
that kinda pissed me off too (also german, also dont like siver). The thing is nobody really gives a shit about siver enough to care, which is kinda sad, but trying to be the humble laid back underdog against a man with the presence of conor is just impossible. But about the wrong translation, i think there was a very similar incident after Conor's fight against Aldo. i dont fully remember but apparently in the Octagon interview Aldo was being very humble and respectful towards Conor and the "translator" just said shit to make Aldo seem like a bitter Loser. Unacceptable but sadly most people will never know about these things.

Mcgregor was different then. He was right the shape he was in was crazy. His athleticism was never higher. His flexibility was prime and even his legs looked like an animals haha cuz he was throwing so many kicks and practicing them non stop. He fell in love with boxing and had to have sone type of injury after Diaz 1 because he stopped bouncing and toned down his footwork and def downgraded his flashy high kick usage immensely. He never missed but the cut always looked scary by weigh ins, but there was something about his speed at that weight that was remarkable. He got the silk underwear then made so much he couldn’t spend it all to stay hungry 😂 gotta respect him for chasing the toughest fights and never running in the cage

A huge reason he was so good at 145 is due to his reach and size, he was one of the bigger featherweights. When he moved up, he didn’t always have a reach advantage and bigger guys could take his power more easily.

His 4th (I'm sure) Fight in UFC achieves #9 ranking in a pretty stacked division, most fighters would be loving that, top 10 in a few fights. Not Conor tho, ohh no, he doesn't give a shit about rankings as far as he's concerned he's No: 1. His confidence and vision is and may be always unmatched. I mean he starched his first 5-6 opponents in first round bar Max. And predicted every one almost to a tea. He's definitely lost it now but look at how many records he set. "People's main event, first fight I think, helwani fans chose this I believe. Braking gate records within a couple fights. Made America, fair enough it was Boston with the Irish heritage, but they supported him probably ten fold compared to Holloway, an American 😂. Featherweight interm belt on his 6th fight. Unified them in the very next fight against, not my words tho he was good, the pound for pound best there ever was. 13 seconds. Jumped to welterweight to take on one of the toughest dudes out there. Took lightweight belt in absolute style in his first lightweight fight in UFC. To become the first champ champ, holding them together for another record. This is where I believe he lost his way. Leaving to box the world's most talented defence boxer, tho he done not bad and it was for the paycheck for him. Everything after this is not really worth mentioning 😂 as he's been beat numerous times. Still set numerous records time after time with ppv buys. This will be some read I can already tell 😂 Love that, what a comment 😂

2:45 did we see a lil glimpse of the cerrone shoulder 😺
You see at 2:45 he uses his shoulder technique that he smashed cowboy with. Shows he’s practised and perfected these techniques for years.
Hilariously he actually followed up with the knee to the temple on Cowboy as well lmao
Ace commentary man
Finished peaky blinders yesterday and I wonder why Connor hasn't made a cameo. Seems perfect for it.

that kinda pissed me off too (also german, also dont like siver). The thing is nobody really gives a shit about siver enough to care, which is kinda sad, but trying to be the humble laid back underdog against a man with the presence of conor is just impossible. 6:00 Conor looks like he’s just stepped out of a Vault in Fallout.
It's insane how all those predictions came true.
8:36 chuck absolutely smashed

Not sure if you know but tyson blew a $100 mill in less than 2 years.. pretty positive, especially in today's inflation conor could spend that all on jet & yacht

McGregor's trash talk was so on point back then. He seems awkward on camera lately. Just repeating the same 'I'm glad to be here. You're going to see a great performance in that octagon' line over and over.
I agree w u on this. U could tell he doesnt have that same fire he had. Old conor would of never stayed up against the cage and let dustin Tee off on him. I really don't think we'll ever see that conor again.
He used to be a lot more 'funnier', and with his accent becoming a lot more thicker after the Mayweather fight, he no longer sounded funny as well. All the rape cases against him and the flak he received from the khabib fight has limited a lot of what he can say or do
Dennis's coach was spot on when he said he thinks Conors a sociopath 🤣
I think having his first child changed him, changed his perspective about life, he left that period where he was hungry, motivated.. after whooping alvarez everything changed money got into his mind, even him losing any fight was ok because of huge fanbase still supporting him like a mad ruler.. Crux: he's a buisness man now
