Bergkamp one of, if not the, most underrated player ever
Football is a team game so I think he is underrated because the teams he played on didn't win the worldcup, euro, or champions league. He also wasn't successful in Italy so that's another reason he's underrated. A great great player none the less. Imagine if he stayed around a few more years at inter to play with r9.

WC 98 was the most exciting one in living memory. There were 6 or so team who were very evenly matched at the top and all of them were star studded. Berkamp, Kluivert, Davids,Vieri, Del Piero, Maldini, Zidane, Petit, Vieira, Battistuta, Crespo, Ortega , R9,Rivaldo, Bebeto.....the list goes on. From 2002 WC until present, the only one where there were quite a few exciting teams at the top was 06. Other than that, a good number of the traditional powerhouses were in a rebuilding or lull phase.
💯 this 98 world cup was like a a dream, all the big teams boasted the dream line up.
Petit understood the game soooo well, he was always in the right spot on the field, he also scored in the final against Brazil in 98, he had a great career!

its annoying even as a non arsenal supporter that wenger hasnt built his squad not even half as good as that legendary team today. There is no great partnership (or even any partnership) on the team, no harmony, no desire and you can blame players for it but most of it should lie with the manager.

And Henry speed 94 is a joke, i agree with R9 speed 97, but for sprint speed Henry is 98 surely, baring in mind in one game vs Newcastle he reached a top speed of 39.2km/h. To put that into perspective Sane ran 35.23km/h the other day -the fastest since records began in 2014.
Also so many times you watch the players being interviewed and they completley disagree with fifa stats

Ronaldo got to 36 km/h with at Corinthians at a 94 kg weight having had 2 knee injuries in the past. that was on a game against São Paulo in 2009. google it. I think R9 sprint at Barcelona was close to 42 km/h.
Even tho I'm a Liverpool fans I loved Petit as a player looking back at some clips on youtube the guy was just a machine apart from vieira and makelele he's the best defensive midfielder the premier league has ever seen.

This man is an absolute legend. I remember the 1998 WC like it was yesterday even though I was very young at the time, but that squad had something no other team had at the time. It's heartbreaking to see what has become of France's national team in the recent years after all the legends retired. If we're being honest here and before someone jumps the gun and tells me "they were in the last Euro final", France should have beaten Portugal in because they had a much better squad and Ronaldo got injured in the beginning but they just weren't good enough and lacked chemistry on the pitch.

listen to what petit said about thuram and desailly at 8:00. then go watch that famous clip of the french national team with thuram and desailly etc preparing for the world cup final in 1998, discussing how theyre going to contain R9...then youll see how much of a GENIUS R9 is. just one more example (out of hundreds more I'm sure) off the top of my head: R9 owned desailly in a national team match....skinned and embarrassed him with one stepover. the clip can easily be found on any compilation of R9's skills. this level of humiliation of one of the greatest defenders of all time is one example of why R9 is the GOAT undoubtedly in my book. what petit said about bergkamp being naturally talented and gifted? R9 is the same, if not much more naturally gifted, no offence to bergkamp. R9 was art. one could watch his plays 1000 times and still appreciate them, still learn something new every time. i say it again, GOAT.

Man with all these world class players we’ve had all these years, how have we not won many titles, a champions league, etc.
Should've went all the way in 03-04. That was the year with all the big guns under performing and getting knocked out early. Lost to ranieri's chelsea. 05-06 was a wonder run but i guess it was barca's time. Injuries in 01-02 stopped us from progressing. We went into big european games relying on grimandi, stepanovs and luzhny which wasn't ideal. freddie missed some key games in europe that year. 02-03 was a bottle job to a young ajax team. Outside of those years it wasn't really arsenal's time to win the big one.

Only thing with R9 is he didn't get many assists at all. Henry got loads and was a better passer of the ball. Henry to this day has the assists record in the premier league, 20 in one season. R9 was a better dribbler and defo had more skills!!
Actually Ronaldo had 149 career assists in 616 games. Henry had 151 in 918 matches.

Ronaldo card is severely underrated. Physical 76? If you listen an interview of whoever played with or against him ( Vieri for example ) says Ronaldo was big, mean, and insanely strong. And before all his injuries he probably was the fastest player who ever stepped on a football pitch with and without the ball, both in pace and acceleration ( every defender that played against him tells you that, top defenders like Maldini, Nesta, and the ones who played against him in 1996/97 season in La Liga ). Dribbling, Shooting and Passing are more subjective ratings and its pointless to argue with that... but the physicality, no way: 99 PAC, 94 PHY in my book, at least. Edit: just think that at their prime, both Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaka ( two of the fastest players the world has ever seen ) couldnt surpass Javier Zanetti, or Cafù ( two wing backs really fast, and past their prime ). Ronaldo would constantly obliterate them. Im not talking about the first 20m, because on that distance R9 was just inhuman, but on the long distance at full pace.
Phy stats consists of aggression jumping stamina and strength and his physical is so low because of his very low aggression which is 47 according to fifa. His strength on the prime card is 85
