The TRX6 Tires are surprising! Can't wait to see more Tires tackle this. Carmine ✈🚂🚙
Nice job, I like how you have tried to keep it all the same by using the same truck. I really like what you guys are doing. Thanks 👍
Yeah, changing tires 4x on the field was a task but it was key.
Great idea, keep the best of this test as a benchmark for later videos. A stock tyre shootout would be cool too, and include Tamiyas tyres.
Really a good technical compare ! We are still investigating on many tires because they are 80% of the result. Many are good in dry conditions, but very few with wet and a few mood over rocks. We did similar modification as you have done on Traxxas Canyon Trail: in all case having less dowels gives better performance ! Many tires comes from real tire design, BUT we must consider scale factor: weight decrease by 3 dimensions, while area by 2 dimensions ! This means that using same tire design make lower ground pressure and this get lower traction ! Removing dowels make less contact area and so more ground pressure, coming more similar to real 1:1 vehicles.
Great video and with some really good info and comparative data. Like others I would like to see similar tests on other surfaces more trail related (not an abundance of rocks in the Midwest). Only other suggestion is the one regarding starting with the stock tires as the baseline. So I appreciate the test info and understand that it’s nearly impossible to test every tire out there and to make everyone happy - I think the approach taken is reasonable, although don’t understand why testing 2 TRX sets. Thanks.
Duratrak Deepwood with dual stage foam !! yes and what Brent said Hustler also !!
Great video. Love a good tire comparison!
I would like to point out that I have a set of the canyon Traxxas tires that came on my trx4 bronco. After some time the foams were wore down enough so that the tire would squat about a quarter of an inch before it hit the foam. And I've never had anything get traction like that canyon A/T with ragged foams.
I'd like to see some deep woods and voodoos.
Would LOVE to see the Wrangler MTr 1.9 reviewed please. Love the vid thank you!!!
Interesting video as usual from your channel! Please consider other surfaces on your next video ( wet rock, dirt, roots) as well as some side hill on all surfaces. I would also suggest Duratrax Deep Woods with decent foams (stock are too soft). Really interested on what you will come up for the next episode!
Yes, yes, brilliant suggestions
Awesome video and great test! Just my two cents here... I think it would be better if you put some gates on all 6 lines. Also, I know it is a hassle, but maybe you should test on the same set of Beadlock wheels and the same foam inserts. This way you would really test only the tire and remove all other variables. Keep up the good work!
that is a brilliant idea!!!
The PitBull Rock Beast tires are amazing!
Will add that for sure.
That was a great tire test. I would like to see the RC4WD Goodyear Wrangler MT/R 1.9" 4.19" Tires & RC4WD Milestar Patagonia M/T 1.9" Rock Crawler Tires (X2S³) to here your thought
Ya I am impressed with the stock TRX tires......great video...
Best stock tire and the new TRX-6 is perhaps the best kit tire ever.
Francis. Please try the Proline Super Swampers XL in Predator rubber with Proline 2-stage foams. Also show the Hyrax on the dirt courses...
Here's my suggestions: Pit Bull Growler AT Pro-Line Grunt JConcepts Landmines The first is growing in popularity, the second was just recently released, and the third is not only just getting released, but has already garnered a huge amount of interest.
really appreciate this insight.
Yes I agree very informative video. Thank you
Glad it was helpful!
the book racing hustlers look impressive. Also I wonder about wheel mass in your testing, knowing it makes a huge difference with traction. Was there much of a variance of the test wheels uaed?
What timing, I was thinking of searching for Proline Hyrax vs. Proline BFGoodrich Krawler. So I’m asking to add the Proline BFGoodrich Krawler to the shot out.
Have you tested, or can you test, the Proline Flat Iron XL 1.9 tires....? I have the original 2.2 non-xl on one of my trucks and love it, and would love to see how the newer ones stack up against some of these others...
Great tips, dude! Thanks! 😊
Yeah, i think we'll learn quite a bit now that we have some test lines.
Thanks for the tire info, looking forward to more testing. Did you bring a leaf blower? That area was full of leaves the last time I was there.
Yup!!! Someone else did. We've seen the maintenance crew out here and they took out that 3 inch layer of leaves.
I got the km3 because of the looks. They look bad ass
Nice tire review and hack on the body to slider mod. :-D
I would like to see a review between this hair bun thing and different foams!
Tires are completely terrain specific though. Up here in the PNW it's very popular to run Proline Swampers in Predator. I was skeptical till I tried them on my TRX4. With dual stage foams, they are awesome in this terrain! Kind of do it all, but could be better for pure rock terrain. Great for wet, loose woodsy stuff like we have up here... Still good on the rocks though.
We will try that. The good news with video is you can see exactly if the test terrain is relevant to yo and your area.
Pacific northwest?
@@paulclancy2404 yep
I got some 1.9 RC4WD bfgoodrich KM3. Man that compound is great. Really sticky, I personally prefer their tires to Proline.
Hey Francis, seen all of your tire videos. Im trying the Louise Rowdy C3 supersoft =$30 US for four from club5racing (euro version of Duratrax Showdowns) but what is the best extreme crawl tire for rock adhesion ~ is your favorite still the predator Hyrax? Have you tried the Trencher's? Do you have a new fav? And lastly, have you tried the hairbun donuts? thanks!
Thank you für the video. It would like to see some Louise CR-Rowdy tires and it would be nice to see how Austar tires handle these lines.
Thanks for the idea!
💯💖💣🐸🐢😎💗 Superb!! great wheelin big pimpin!!
You should test Proline BFG Krawlers vs Proline Flatiron XLs next
Can’t beat the trx6 wheels. I got all 6 brand new from a chop shop for 45 bucks.
I know its taboo, but how about the china knock off tires vs. the OEM tires?
Proline Hyrax scxl desert truck tire may be nice too, very small sidewall
If you're not using Pro Line Hyrax G8 Tires you don't have a tire, You have a donut. lol
Have you tryed flat iron tires from proline or rc4wd mud sliggers or proline super swampers
Anything special to mount up the trx6 wheels to the element? Many thanks!
Cool video! Check out Wilmavich , he and his pals did a really big tire comparison last spring (?)! They tested on lots of different surfaces.
Maybe if one test per set of tires, you had a spray bottle of water and sprayed a bit on some rock surfaces to see what would happen ? Moisture always seems to add some grip issues among tire compounds 🧐👍
My sugestions: Rc4wd wrangler MTR kevlar Duratrax Deepwods Ottisix KLMr Pittbull Rockbeast XL Pro-line Super swamper XL.
I have some for sale. But special Race Tread , on double, reverse tread, counter rotation cut, bogger/crawler/rock/mud AT Radials on double sided beadlock slotted mags. Cheap too. Send me a check.
How would these tires crawl on iced up rocks in a Northern Winter ?
You should do a test on mud slingers
Very informative. Thank you for doing this!
Right on. we ordered more tires to try. If only it would stop raining around these parts.
Proline krawler t/a kx tires are awesome I wish proline made them in a class 1 tire size
Totally agree Proline Krawlers are superb.
They do I thought I seen 4.19 4.65 4.75 in 1.9
Can you share the location of where you test your RC’s?
I have a tamiya cr 01 crawler. Which tire is most suitable for it ? Please help me .
What foams are u using on the stock trx4 sport tires I'm planing on installing proline dual stage foams in it with the center knob cut out
Pro line dual stage form is what we use
I tested the canyon's with the mod and they are not bad. I have been rocking the pit bull rock beasts and am not impressed. I might switch them up soon.
How many hours do you have on the Rock Beasts and where do you run? I hated mine when I got them... but after running them for a good 20+hrs or so, they and the foams seemed to get better. They still don't like loose loamy dirt or the wet, but on rocks... they're pretty darn good.
do you have the rockbeasts 1.9 xl? i tested both 1.9 and 1.9 xl and the xl is very bad compared to the normal 1.9 which has similar performance to hyrax
@@trailcrawler2038 I have some good hours on them. Mostly run on granite rock. But I been waiting a little longer before a proper review. Just for maybe a little more break in. My prolines seen to just be a little more better.
@@jep6084 xl's How would the size change performance if they are same compound?
@@RCPropaganda Interesting. I've used the Hyrax in G8, and prefer (by a margin) my Rock Beasts in Comp compound. Though, I did not use the Hyrax much, as I borrowed them from a friend during our trail run.
Was there a part 2? I can't find it
Can you try out the ottsix voodoo Tieres
ALL OF THEM. I have a wheel and tire problem. I want them all.
I always thought dual stage foam was the way to go for all tires. Any reasons why you would not get dual stage for a crawler tire?
Grip
Nice video. I say test the proline super swamper tsl sx xl in the g8 compound.
will do
Here in the north east a G8 swamper broken in is king
I'd like to see interco super swamper
Traxxas get better and better!
I seem to be quite late to the party, but I've had nothing but good experiences with my RC4WD Mickey Thompson Baja Claws. I have them in both 4.19 and 4.75 versions (1.9s). It would be nice to see how they stack up in a direct comparison to something like the Hyrax. Also if anyone has already done this comparison, can anyone point me in the direction please?
any updates? Was wanting to get Claws but want something that preforms too. Toss up between them and KM3s
@@Cranklotus I haven't been able to find a direct comparison, but I'm still running the 4.75 claws on my trailrunner with no issues what so ever. Great tires for a decent price. The only problem I ever had was mounting them on my 2 piece rims. That was a bit of a pain. But the trailrunner climbs almost vertical with them, so I'm impressed!
So the company that made the canyon trail tire, what do you think they are thinking at the shop when they see everyone mods the tire to make it work? Think they will change it?
Yes!! Their newest tire is on the Traxxas TRX-6. It looks a lot like our modded TRX4 tires.
How about rc4wd 2.2 rock crushers
And pitbull Rock beast
At start video you say canyon trail with lines cut. But you show canyo tyre with knobs cut off.
I got like some weird tires they are too soft but my redcat goes evrywhere with them
I always wonder why no real car tire brand comes up with a hyrax- pattern tire
Duratrax showdown and deep woods
I'd like to see the boom racing hustlers and the voodoo klrm and the xor, rock beasts the heavy hitters that are on most all the comp rigs
Yup, we'll target the heavy hitters first
Did you check out my Wraith running video?
Can you recommend which is best for mud?
Proline KM3 or Proline Super Swampers
Voodoo klr vs proline super swamper vs pit bull vs boom racing. Etc
Can you compare the Louise Champ vs proline?
Proline is much better
I have to say that I cant completely agree with how the km3 performed I use it in all my rigs but in G8 compound. Never had a problem in any terrain. But then again my trucks are heavier than stock trucks
Ooooh, we'll try on another vehicle. Our TRX-4 is pretty heavy. It is the best looking and a good all-arounder but not a goat
@@RCReviewChannel overall I like this review more than others I've seen on youtube haha
whats the difference in predator and g8? any new tires now youd reccomend?
I been hearing about ottsix voodoo tires
Voodoo KLR.
@@RCReviewChannel yes, some good duratrax to, showdown and deep woods
Tsl super swamper and deep woods please
I like the sw but everyone says they suc , guess depending where u wheeln
Remo hobby 1073-sj tire
Starting to hear about Remo!!
@@RCReviewChannel wdym?
best of best tire ???
The fail in this vid is that you didn't highlight the shortcomings of the Hyrax. Primarily that it's a rock centric tire. Put it in loose terrain and it's poop!
Good advice to find loose terrain. So far though with us, it is one of the good performers in loose terrain around here. Sidehilling and wet is where it's not dialed, so far.
Pretty much the same conclusion that my group has found in my area. Clean dry rock and they work better than most, wet or dusty rocks not so well and dry loose soil hill climbs tend to be more challenging. And so far as I know, SORRCA rules still apply and shouldn't be included in competition.
Terra Quest RC which tire would you recommend for loose soil?
Honestly I disagree. They do amazing in sand and wet rock at least for me they do. I think it's a matter of weight distribution. My rig is nearly 50/50 balanced with low center of gravity and single stage foams and the hyraxs don't struggle on any terrain really.
Lol
Ouch, those dry driveshaft joints squeak. Giving me a headache. I was surprice how much difference between tires there really is.
Yes, thank you for saving us time in diagnosis. Really noticed that editing the video.
This test was good. But it you need more "dirt" test and a wood board test also. This test was too much rock. Many of us dont have so much rock around us and we drive more dirt and such things.
please do a reviews of fake rc tires 😃
I’m trying to get in to rc crawling and trying to find a 1/10 scale truck that is good for beginners if any one knows of a great crawler under 500$ I would appreciate your help
Injora tires
Simon Kubacki I just bought two sets of the hyrax clones myself and curious how they compare to prolines.
Deepwoods
appreciate it.
Hyrax can’t beat them.
The clear winner, Hirax
Be nice to see BoomRacing hustlers in super soft only
We'll take note of that.
JConcepts Ruptures is the cheater tires made. best bang for your dollar also.
Anyone giving away their trx6 tires? Lol
Is it just me or does anyone else like there tyres not to be too good ! Easy is boring
Isn’t really a good test if the rig you put it on sucks
Noticed you got beat locks on some and not on others Wheels make a difference
